Asked on: 8/6 1:35PMIve inly been able to drive away a teostra 1 time becous whenever i get close to it its like stading by lava and the red thing get bigger even if i drink a cool drink.
If you are bothered about the health drain, use kusha armor.

statusBring a weapon with good Dragon element and break his horn (the big crown thing on his head). Your weapon HAS to be dragon element to knock off his horn. Also, anytime he falls to the ground, his shield will go away for a bit.
Just bash the crap out of his head.
Once the horns gone, you will more than likely still have one more round. If you absolutley NEED his tail, bring your best Lance/Gunlance/Sword/Greatsword/etc.
But, if you're just going for a kill, bring a strong hammer (Like onslaught) and just bash his brains out.

A good Dual Sword like Flaming Pair or Dual Dragon Ultimus is better than a Hammer almost
Listen to what Rathalos888 said and focus your attacks on his horn. If you have noticed by fighting other Elder Dragons, thier "cloak" (Kushala has a wind barrier, Teostra/Lunestra have Fire) thier horns are the soruce of this power, and breaking the horn first usually means an easier fight.
