FIFA Soccer 06

"A mediocre soccer game at best"

I must start the review by stating the this was my first experience playing a soccer game for any console. Also for the die hard soccer fans who play many soccer games like other soccer titles you should have no problem grasping and excelling at this game.

SOUND: 5/10
Like most sports games I hate playing with the volume on after a few times playing due to the over used annoying phrases that the announcers consistently use.

SOUNDTRACK: 6/10
Basically all rock, and me being a rap liker i prefer not listening to the sound track which is used like most sports games not while your playing and just on the main and sub menus.

GRAPHICS: 7/10
One of the brighter sports of the game here, definitely above average for PSP graphics at least compared with other titles I have played. If you know soccer players pretty well you will recognize them when the get a close up.

CONTROLS: 8/10
I find that for a first time player the controls feel pretty much natural with the PSP configuration after learning the controls and playing for a small fraction of time. For the hardcore soccer lovers the controls are the same as always and feel like second nature to you.

GAME PLAY: 5/10
I'm quite confused on playing the game, very basic standards for the PSP soccer games, shooting and goal keeping for penalty kicks and tie breakers are all still confusing me. As like every thing I'm sure if you have played and been good at other soccer games for the PS2 you will do just fine though.

OVERALL 6/10
Well I had a little fun playing the game not enough to keep my interest for too long although I had a little fun juggling as well yet still I only held my interest with the game for about two or three days.

BUY, RENT, OR DON'T BOTHER
There are many variables to this game determining whether I should tell you to buy, rent, or don't bother with this game so I'll split it up. Buy this game if you are a die hard soccer fan, rent if you think soccer games are ok or if you have never played one, and don't bother with the game if you don't like soccer or soccer titles for PS2.
