The Legend of Heroes II: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch
Review by Sanosuke92
"Ir's like the first game but slightly better"
When I first received my PSP the first game I bought was Legend of Heroes A Tear Of Vermilion. It was a solid RPG that suffered from a case of bad translation. However, In the end it proved to be a satisfactory experience. Now we have Legend of Heroes 2 Prophecy of the Moonlight witch. Which was supposed to come before a Tear Of Vermilion but Bandai wanted it the other way around. Anyway here is my review.
Graphics 7.5/10
Although no different from the first installment. The graphics of this game are very sublime. The character sprites look very nice and do not look stupid on the 3d background. The graphics of this game are breathtaking however, The graphics are no different then the first game. Giving it a 7.5 out of 10
Game play 6/10
Sure I could take this section out of my Legend of Heroes 1 review, copy and paste it here but then I would be accused of self plagiarism. Seriously the two games are exactly the same in this department! The same battle system and Linear game play of the first are refurbished into this sequel. Personally I love the game play but It would bore the snot out of some people which is why it nabs a 6 out of 10
Music 9/10
Absolutely amazing music is one of the top notch features of this game. Beautiful instruments grace you with sounds of enjoyment every time you pop this game into your PSP. Normally I don't care for music in these kinds of games but this is truly candy for your ears. It might not be as good as say the Final Fantasy games but the music in this game gets a 9 out of 10!
Story 8.9/10
I only played up to a certain point in the game so far but I must say this game is five gigantic leaps above the first installments story. Bad translation still exist in forms like Chris's Yessss and Julio's Yo-Ho but this game is way better then in A Tear of Vermilion. There is also a less amount of heavy text in this game compared to the last one. Because Bandai did a better job this time Legend if Heroes 2 scores a 8.9 out of 10 in this department
Overall 8/10 (rounded up)
This game although suffers from being the same as A Tear of Vermilion still proves to be a satisfying RPG.
