Tekken: Dark Resurrection
Review by TAMKFan
"Even if you already own Tekken 5 all the new extras and portabillity makes this game more than worth it."
Note: This is my first review on GameFAQs that I'm not using sub titles on. Since I wrote like this on Gamespot it seems harder for me to format it in the categories.
This is the best PSP game. This is the best Tekken game. This is the best fighting game. And this is one of the best games ever. I'm serious! Yes it may be an updated version of Tekken 5 but all the extras and tweaks is what makes this game stand out from Tekken 5. Their's 3 new characters for this game and 2 of them are totally new. The old returning character is Armor King who should be familiar to people who has played Tekken 1, 2 or Tag Tournament. Lili is the name of one of the new characters. She rocks and is pretty hot. She sort of reminds me of Ingrid from Capcom Fighting Evolution and Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX. Dragunov is the other new character. He's cool too so far. He looks like someone who works at the Army. Eddy also gets a separate selection place now but I think he still plays exactly the same as Christie. Everyone else got some added and removed moves from Tekken 5. Some moves even have different button requirements and different animations now.
The graphics blew me away! Guess what? The graphics are the same from Tekken 5 on PS2! I never thought that the PSP could handle graphics this good. I thought they would at least be a step down. As it the graphics are truly awesome.
Oh yeah this game has a lot of new stages from Tekken 5 too. AND more customizations. Tekken Bowl Mode from Tekken Tag Tournament makes a return! It's a really fun mode. There's a new Tekken Dojo Mode but it's kind of similar to the Arcade Mode. It does have it's differences though. With all the stuff this game offer it lasts a long time. Oh yeah I forgot: 2 player mode. You can play this game with a friend who also owns a PSP which is sure to be fun.
I gave Tekken 5 a 10 a long time ago but this game deserves a 10 too for it's extras and portability. If you have PSP and have any remote interest in fighting games I recommend you to go out and buy this game right now! Even if you already own Tekken 5 for PSP this game is still worth the $40 for it's extras and portability.
