"Stick with the PS2 Versions"

I am a hardcore Dynasty Warriors fan and a KOEI fan. I proudly own all the Dynasty Warriors games (well I did until I traded this one in). This game fell way short of my expectations. I bought a PSP for this game alone but ended up trading it in for Y's Ark of Napishtim. If you are new to the series pick up Dynasty Warriors 5. I'm gonna make this short and to the point.

Game play = 2/10
It takes away all that was good and leaves all that is evil. The ability to unlock weapons has been taken away and that definitely takes away points. The level maps suck because they are on a grid thing. There isn't many levels. You unlock your characters way too fast in this one. This one feels way too repetitive compared to the others.

Sound = 8/10
I love Dynasty Warriors music. This game's wasn't all that bad but there is way better (I.E. Dynasty Warriors 3). Also for some reason the noises your weapons make seem really fake in this one compared to others in my opinion. Maybe thats just me though.

Replay-ability = 1/10
This game gets way too boring. Besides the Dynasty Warrior signature Square pressing madness, this game has very few levels which adds to the boringness. This game also has very few things to unlock. No more items or weapons. You can unlock generals though but its all random. Just go there stage and fight them. Whats the fun in that?

Story = 10/10
Gotta love Romance of the Three Kingdoms. For the people who don't know what Im talking about, is a book that these games are based off of. The book is based off of history. KOEI also made a game series called Romance of the Three Kingdoms. This game sticks with the story going from Yellow Turbans all the way until Battle of Xu Chang.

if you are thinking about getting this game, rent it first. Don't make the same mistake I did. If it comes down to buying this game or Samurai Warriors State of War. Get Samurai Warriors instead.
