"Is this actually worms? Oh dear..."

You know when they announced the release date for this game I was actually quite excited about trying this game out. I was waiting and expecting the multiplayer to be just as good as it was on the Ps2/Ps1/Pc. But I guess it was quite surprising for me when I played this game on the first day it was released in the EU. What have they done to this game?

What is this game like?
For all the people who will be reading this review, you probably already have an idea of what Worms is like. You have a team of Worms and you kill each other with the given weapons.

Storyline: 2/10

Of course, there never has been a proper storyline for Worms. The main game lies in the multiplayer part. And one player is really for unlocking new weapons and maps. So hence here; no storyline in Worms, expect after one mission you get another mission. Repeat until there are no missions left.

Graphics: 8/10

Not bad at all, just like any other Worm game. 2D graphics (the 3D version sucked anyway). You either love the graphics or hate it, simple as that. The explosions and weapons are all 2D, the whole game looks more like a cartoon than anything else. Yeah, that basically summarises the graphics.

Music: 7/10

Nothing too amazing here, just the usual music for the usual game. Every map has slightly different music. I'm sure you won't hate it, but you won't love it either. (Maybe except for the way the Worms talk to make themselves look stupid. You may find it funny, but I'm not amused.)

Gameplay & Multiplayer: 4/10

Well what happened here? Guess what? Oh noes there is no multiplayer. You have to have two Psp plus two copies of Worms to be able to play multiplayer. Doesn't that suck? Yes, yes it does. Oh and by the way, remember all the weapons in the old Worms games? They all disappeared. The strongest weapon is now Banana Bomb, and there are a grand total of about 15 weapons you can use. This includes weapons which do not deal damage. Anyone who rates this game above an 8 has either not played Worms, or just rates games whatever they feel like rating it. Ok well, there is no storyline, you unlock nothing for it, theres no multiplayer. What the hell is the point in this game? I have no idea, ask the people who rated this game 9/10 or above.

Overall: 6/10 (Not an average)

I could conclude this with - "This game sucks and don't buy it." But it will make me look like someone who has never played Worms properly before. Put it this way, I have Worms Forts, Worms 3D on GC, Worms Armageddon on Ps1. And I have played it a lot to be familiar with what the game should be. If you love Worms, you should try this game. Otherwise, go buy Monster Hunter or any title worth a 9/10 or above.
