"Not a game where you will Get Fired Up or anything, but good with a few flaws."

This is my first review ever, so forgive me if it's imperfect. Fired Up was my first game on the PSP. It was good in some places but bad in others. I will tell where the game lacks and where the game shines. Hopefully this will help you.

Graphics:

The graphics were excellent. The cars and the surroundings are so good that you will actually feel you're really in the game. Not so much to say here but the graphics is described by only two words: Pure Excellent.

Music/Sound Effects:

Here is where the game fails. There is no great music in the game since all you hear is the shooting. When I say shooting, I don't mean, like Third Person Shooting or anything like that. I don't know how to describe it. There's a weapon located at the top of your car. And that's where the shooting comes from, that and the shooting of your enemies too. So the music and sound effects don't make you say great music and excellent sound effects. Actually, it will make you say kind of a below average music and average sound effects.

Game play:

The game play is good and like all other games where cars are included. There are two setting: Simple and Advanced Controls. I chose simple because that's how I played any other racing game. This is not a racing game of course, it's vehicular combat, but how you control the car is similar to controlling a car in any other car-related games. The Advanced Controls setting is like the Simple Controls setting with minor changes, such as the steering and stuff like that. Just for the ones who are thinking of playing with a series of controls he/she haven't played before, do not do that! Because at the start of the game, you'll need fast reflexes and knowledge of the controls you'll be playing as. Oh yeah, did I tell you that there are three areas plus a boss battle? In each area, you'll have about six to seven missions to complete before moving to a new area.

Storyline:

Not anything special or original here. It's your normal evil emperor trying to take over a place. I have to give some credit to the emperor's name: The Iron Lady. I'm not being sarcastic by the way. I'm serious. The names of the areas are realistic and reasonable, but it doesn't make you say "great originality." I won't spoil it and tell you the name of the places. Anyway, the game includes five characters all of them you will be unable to see their whole bodies or see them walking on foot. You will be moving their cars at all times through the game. The only time you'll see them is when they're talking with each other, and you'll only see their faces. The reason why I said that you’d need knowledge of the controls you'll be playing as is that at the start of the game at each road you turn into, you'll see enemies shooting from nearly all directions. If you want to experience with a new set of controls then, go ahead. It's your choice anyway.

Replay Value:

Not much of a replay value here, you can play from the first area all over again and try to score a gold on every mission and collect some bonuses that I will not tell so I don't spoil it. It will be found in the instruction booklet.

Overall:

The game is good, for those who loved WWE: Crush Hour one and two, buy this game. I didn't actually loved WWE: Crush Hour but this game was included in the Value Pack. I'm going off subject here. For those who don't like vehicular combat. Rent it or stay away from it.
