Gitaroo Man Lives!
Review by SilentAssassinB
"Gitaroo Man must be the most addicting game for the PSP!"
I was interested in this game because I played the demo on the PS2. I was unsure when I bought it, but once i started playing it, I was hooked.
Story:
You play as U1, a boy that has no confidence whatsoever. He has a dog named Puma that teaches him how to play the Gitaroo. Soon after you are attacked by many different Gitaroo wielding monsters whom you must defeat. Eventually you must go to Planet Gitaroo to save it from a man named Zowie. I wish the story was more in depth, but it doesn't leave you with many questions at the end.
9/10
Graphics:
The cell shaded characters gives the game a good feel and fits into the game perfectly. Even when there is a great amount of people in the background or figures, the game doesn't slow down at all.
10/10
Gameplay:
This game feels like Dance Dance Revolution+Analog Stick on steroids for your hands. The base of the game is split into 3 parts: Charge, Attack, and Final. Attacking is done by by following a line with your analog stick and pressing any of the face buttons and holding it until it gets to the end of the line. This is also used in the "Charge" stage to regain your character's health It may seem weird, but it's hard to explain, but very easy to learn. The defense stage is where specific buttons move to the middle and you must press that button once it makes it there. Even f you don't know what face button's what, they come from that direction so if the button was "O", it would move from the right side to the middle. This could sound easy to you, but it gets frantic in the later levels and even harder during "Master Mode" where you will be crying in anguish at how challenging it is. I still haven't beaten Master Mode myself, but it's just fun enough that even though you lose, you don't get that frustrated.
10/10
Music & Sounds:
The whole game is about music. That is where the game really shines. The music is spectacular. You'll have songs from this game such as "Flying into your Heart" playing in your head all day. The only thing that's a little flawed in the game is the voice acting. It could use a little work, but other than that, it's great!
9/10
Overall:
Story - 9/10
Graphics - 10/10
Gameplay - 10/10

This is a must have for anyone who likes fun gameplay, great music and anyone who enjoys a challenge. Hope this helped you and thanks for reading!
