Review by Ratchet12345

"OK, but they could have done better."

I've always like soccer. Whether it was real or virtual, I liked it anyways. Whenever I went to my cousin's house, I played Fifa the whole time with him until I had to go home. It was really good fun. I'm not much of an athletic person, so this was my preferred way of playing soccer.

When I got this game, I was all 'Yay! I finally have Fifa 07! Now I can play soccer whenever I want!'. I played it for about a week, finished Manager Mode, and was disappointed. No big finale, no 'You won! Congratulations!'. No nothing.

But the rest of the game is great. Manager Mode is OK, but gets repetitive; I mean, you only play soccer. You can train your players, change your tactics, your team and such, but it wasn't mind blowing.

GRAPHICS: 7/10

Nice still graphics. Nothing bad here. But the players were a little bit different. I am used to playing Fifa on an Xbox, and I know how good the graphics are on that, and I also know that the PSP doesn't have a hope in hell against the Xbox in graphics quality. But EA could have done better - MUCH better. The players look a bit blocky, and you can clearly see some of the polygons and such, but they did put a lot of teams in this game - EA did pretty good for the sheer amount of people in this game. But the animation in this game - dodgy. It's alright, but sometimes this game just doesn't go properly. The players have very large gaps in between their movements. Not all the time, but it is very clear if it does happen. They're just average graphics, to say the least.

SOUND: 9/10

There is some good music in this game, and the ability to add your own music is awesome. It seems to be included in all the EA game for the PSP. It adds a sense of personality to the game. But then again, you only hear music in the menus - none whilst your actually playing the game. The sound effects are good also. The commentary is alright, though I do hear a lot of the same thing again and again. The quality isn't bad either. Good sound!

GAMEPLAY: 9/10

You play soccer! Duh! But, as always with Fifa games, the more they make, the better they (supposedly) become. Although this is the first one I've actually owned, I can see a lot of new features, like the Wall Attack training mode. That's fun right there! It's a lot of the old stuff, with some new stuff. Nothing bad here at all!

QUALITY: 5/10

EA screwed up big time here. The game can get very glitchy at times. And I mean VERY glitchy! On numerous account, the game has simply stopped responding to my controls, and the AI just goes to ****. I hate it when that happens, and it's caused me a few unnecessary losses. Also, once the game simply froze. My PSP was revived from Sleep Mode, and that's happened to me a few times in some other games too, but it shouldn't happen anyway. Speaking of AI, these guys aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer. In real life they are, but in this game, they can go a bit stupid sometimes.

OVERALL: 8/10

I never thought that I could play soccer away from home unless I was on a field. Well, EA proved me wrong! Pick it up if you like soccer - good fun inside! And for the soccer enthusiast and the odd 'die hard fan', you can customize your teams and players to the limit where I can't understand what I'm doing, so it's a must for you enthusiasts and 'die hard fans'.
