"Worms in the Palm of your HAND!!!"

This game, while nothing special to the worms universe, is a valued addition to the handheld market. The visuals are very nice on the PSP, but suffer greatly when played on the DS (which is a totally different game, so lets focus on this one.) So, heres my lowdown on this one.

Story: 2 of 10

Story? As most worms enthusiasts know, Worms is not much for story, though they tried a few times in previous games to elude for a single player experience, they usually fall short. The story for this title is no different. You go through 3 tutorials, and then try to climb the ranks by fighting harder enemies through progressive challenge matches. Nothing much unless you want to prove your rank is high enough to play with the big boys in multiplayer.

Multiplayer: 8 out of 10

Reading other reviews, I realised that people dont see much multiplayer in this title, needing another PSP with another copy of this somewhat hard title to come across, but they seem to forget the way we USED to play Worms. Take your turn, hand the PSP to your friend and go from there, the same as every other non-online worms game. But this game is hardly absent of Multiplayer. If you DO happen to have a friend who has their own PSP and their own copy of worms, then congratulations, you get your screen all to yourself, big whoop. If not, simply hand the system from friend to friend like it's meant to be played. Although the use of online battles would be fun, it's always more exciting to see the face of the gamer you just pwned.

Reply Value: High

All worms games are high for replay value if you enjoy games like these, and the fact that you have worms on the go makes this title a must have for worms fans.

Total: 9 out of 10.

Cons: Worms move much too slow, Not very many weapons (including my favorites like the holy hand grenade), no special battlefields (just randomly generated fields), DS version sucks really bad, no downloadable content like maps or voices

PROS: Fun little FMV sequences, classic worms interface, protable worms (where can we go wrong?) very nice ps2 2d graphics (explosions are greatly improved), nice number of classic worms soundbanks, see above review.

Finishing up, I just have this to Say. This game is the pure worms for the portable gamer, and do not under ANY circumstances, compare it to the reluctant trash heap that is Worms: Open Warfare for the Nintendo DS. ^_^
