EA Replay
Review by XJ9ightmare
"I miss the 90's..."
OK, the name of the game here is "EA Replay", a collection of 14 different video games that were formerly released on the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis home consoles.
The 14 games that are included on this collection were all from the early to mid-1990's.
And now...the review:
-GRAPHICS: 9/10 - Outstanding
Every single game on this collection looks exactly like I remember them, and almost nothing has been changed, save for all of the button symbols in every game being replaced with the PSP's instead of the SNES's or the Genesis's button layouts. However, depending on the game you are playing, everything might look either too wide (in 16:9 ratio) or too small (in 4:3 ratio), but this is truly a matter of personal preference.
-SOUND: 8/10 - Exceptional
The music and sound effects in every game have not been changed; everything sounds exactly the same as it did about 10-15 years ago. However, in Road Rash, the engines sound VERY annoying if you turn the background music off. Other than that, everything else sounds fine.
-GAMEPLAY: 9/10 - Outstanding
All 14 games play very well, and most of them are fun to play (Road Rash 1,2,and 3, B.O.B., Desert Strike) while others might not be (Budokan, Wing Commander), but it may vary depending on the player's tastes in video games. I personally had no problem with the 14 games that were included on this collection, and I think all of them are fun in their own right.
-REPLAY VALUE: 8/10 - Exceptional
There are 14 different games on here, so variety shouldn't pose too much of a problem. But whether or not one chooses to play a game on this collection again after finishing it is purely a matter of personal opinion. I personally have not played every game yet, but maybe I should,
-RENT, BUY, OR BURN?
You really can't go wrong with buying this game, especially considering the affordable $20 price tag it carries. But, as with every classic video game collection, the buyer must actually like the games included on it. In my opinion, I think that a collection such as this is worth every penny of the $20 you're gonna spend on it.
