Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters

Review by Ocelot529

"Cheese it's good!!!"

This is a wonderfully crafted piece of gaming right here yup. Ratchet and Clank has been one of my favorite video game series since the first one and now its PORTABLE!!!!!

Story:
The story is interesting in this game. The starting cutscene shows Ratchet and Clank going to a resort type planet called Pokitaru where they plan on relaxing for the the rest of their life. Then some little girl named Luna comes to comment on what a great hero Ratchet is. She tells him she wants to get pictures of him fighting some Robots so she leads you to some robots. You battle through the planet until the end where she gets captured. That is only where this wonderful game begins.

Gameplay:
The gameplay in this game is basically like any other R&C game, excluding DL. It is in fact a platformer and somewhat of a shooter. You go around to various planets and collect various items relating to the storyline. You also collect bolts, the games currency. With these bolts you buy weapons. Lots and lots of weapons. Weapons are fun!!!! There are around ten or so weapons I believe and maybe 7 or 8 gadgets to collect. You can upgrade your weapons by fighting with them. This game is quite a bit shorter than the other R&Cs but still just as fun. Plus there is a challenge mode once you beat the game. This is where you start out with all your weapons and you play through the game in, basically, hard mode.

Graphics and Music:
The graphics for this game are wonderful for a PSP game. They look a little blocky and dull compared to the PS2 games but IT'S PORTABLE. The music is good. Sometimes it can be a little too loud but not too big of a problem. Sound effects are kinda weird in this game. Sometimes they just kinda cut out during a battle. Not a major problem considering you don't play a game to hear explosions.

Everything else:
I don't know if you knew this yet but..... IT'S PORTABLE!!!! This game is most definitely my favorite PSP game with Pirates! in a close second. This game is PS2 quality. I really enjoyed it and I imagine anyone else would too. Now all of you PSP owners go out and spend the $40 your Uncle Ted sent you for your Birthday and buy it!
