Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai - Another Road
Review by GogetaKilla
"If anyone knows how to make something better, it's Atari."
Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai made portable DBZ the best fighter on the handheld. Now Atari just keeps on giving us more with Shin Budokai - Another Road.
Story == It's new, and pretty good. Plus with voice acting, you'll actually read the messages. It's a fresh new start for Atari. Other then just following the saga's story. It's solid, and it works. But, you may get bored. Not all messages have voice acting, so eventually you'll just skip everything and head to the fight. But either, it works.
Gameplay == Here's the icing on the cake. The gameplay is better then the previous game, but it still feels the same. But Atari sparked up the gameplay by adding a new Camera Adjuster. You can set it to the traditional view, or an over-the-shoulder view. What ever you please. Atari didn't make the gameplay any harder, though. You have your basic buttons. Light attack with Square, and heavy attack with Triangle. It will only take you about 20 minutes to master it, and will take no time at all if you played the previous Shin Budokai!
Cons == One bad thing that makes me, personally [this may or may not apply to you] it the story mode requirements. It gets pretty boring. They ask you to defeat the same enemy, over and over again while you are protecting a city from getting destroyed. They would want you to defeat them all. You'd fly after the same person, trying to prevent them from getting to the city, and then fight to them to the same music over and over until all of the enemies are defeated. But to make up for that, you would feel EXTREMELY satisfied after beating it. Or, EXTREMELY annoyed that you PSP's batteries died when you were about to save.
Overall, this is an outstanding game. It's worth the buy, but you should also pick up the first Shin Budokai so you know how it feels first. The storyline is solid, the gameplay is great, and the con presented can only feel good once you actually win. 9 out of 10.
