Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon

"A fun game but not a fun Harvest Moon game"

Well, we get a Harvest Moon for PSP, but it just doesn't fit as a Harvest Moon game. It is fun but don't expect something as fun as a "normal" Harvest Moon.

Gameplay: 5/10

Ah yes, farming, socializing, getting married, having a child, caring for animals, saving the town, well it's what you would expect from a Harvest Moon game right? Wrong. This game has some of that stuff, but not to a degree of what you would expect. I remember reading in some manuals of the older games saying "You don't just watch the grass grow" but this game you practically do. You barely need any socializing and you probably will stay up for about 5 minutes on a normal day. My normal day just involves watching to see if my plants are okay, then maybe I goto town to buy something, then I goto bed. Doesn't sound that fun, I'll explain more on the next paragraph. Oh and remember those storms that destroyed almost all of your plants? Well, expect waaay more of them

Story: 6/10

The story is fine by me, it would be a great story, it just gets downgraded by the fact that you have to wait a long time before the story progresses. It's really bothersome, most of the time you are waiting for Sunday, the day that usually explains more about the story, and if it doesn't, you usually get something new. After getting to a Sunday that advances the story it gets fun, you unlock more stuff (kinda like how in Zelda where you get a new item and it helps you get more stuff) but the bad thing is, it only lasts about a day or two and then you just go back to your regular old schedule.

Sound: 7/10

Well most Harvest Moon games have a melodic songs that loop in different areas, same thing here, sometimes it sounds kind of sad and other times it sounds a bit more upbeat.

Graphics: 7/10

Nothing much to talk about here, the only problem I have is that some of the characters look like Lego people, especially the main character.

Learning Curve/Controls: 7/10

It's a simple game, easy to learn everything.

Overall: 7/10

Buy this game if you like Harvest Moon or you want a fun game to keep you busy while you wait for another game. I wouldn't recommend renting any Harvest Moon game because they take a long time to play. Do not buy this game if you never enjoyed a Harvest Moon before, this will only make you hate it more.
