NBA Street Showdown
Review by mgbasketball
"Repetitive"
I give this game a 5 because it is very boring and repetitive. You do the same tasks over and over again.
Story" 0/10: The story mode in this doesn't exist. The whole story is the same as every other NBA street game. You start out as a lowly player and work your way up by playing lots of 3 on 3 games. All in all I would estimate you need to win about 50 or so games to beat the story mode. The thrill of unlocking a new court or anything else will fade away very quickly. If length is your thing then this game gives you plent of boring, repetitive tasks to do!
Sound; Music: 7/10: The soundtrack is decent enough and creates a good mood for the game. It is about 99% rap though so you may not like it much if you aren't a rap fan.
Gameplay: 5/10: The gameplay is rather weak. The whole idea behind NBA street is the variety of trick moves and dunks you can do. Rather soon into the game you will find your self rushing through to try and unlock new courts and 'boss' teams. It would help if the courts were bigger but they are rather tiny and boring looking.
Mini games: 9/10: The mni games are enjoyable up to a certain point. There are 2 minigames, one where you block shots and another kind of arcade shooting game. You unlock rewards from getting so far in the minigames which makes them worth playing
replayablity: 0/10: I have never touched the game since I beat the story mode and all the minigames. If you have the willpower to finish it you will not like feel like picking it up again for a very, very long time.
Graphics: 6/10: The courts are varied and decently well done. The players are fairly life like and the movements are smooth.
Cost: 10/10 If you are looking for a cheap PSP game for a long car ride or such this is your ticket but if you are looking for a fun, replayable game then look the other way because this game ge ts old 5 minutes after you start playing!
