Review by Yomoska

"Get it if you can."

Well this is the sequel to one of the best games out for the PSP right now and having played the game since the first PS2 one I know that if you look at these so called "professional" reviewers, you might have to think about how much they've played. While this game is heavily based of MH2 for the PS2, it really isn't a port at all, so if you're thinking you're playing MH2 just like how you played MHG (without online) with MHF, think again.

Graphics: 9/10

The graphics are really good. I'd say one of the best for the PSP. Although some of the things look like they've been worked on just a bit, they are usually the things you won't see much at all. There's nothing much to say about the graphics, if you're a person who likes good graphics in their game this game could interest you.

Sound: 9/10

The quality of the music in this game is fine. They use most of the sounds from the previous MH games but added new ones for boss fights. What really made me confused is that they didn't add some of the new music MH2 had.

Story: N/A

If you play a game for story then don't get this game, why? Because there isn't a story.

Controls: 5/10

Oh how I hate the controls in this game, although it isn't Capcom's fault for the controls, but the limitation of how much things you can press on the PSP, it would better off stay on the console or maybe when the next PSP gets better controls. The new weapons especially seem squished in with the PSP controls.

Game play: 9/10

This is where you'll see most of the "professional" reviewers screw up. Why? Because they usually saw a big ass sword at the beginning of the game and decided that they would be the next Cloud Strife. Though the weapons (Great Sword included) have been improved a bunch to make things evened out, they would probably still complain about the slowness of the weapons. The thing is, maybe the weapons are slow but they fit with the monster's movements. The main point of this game is to take quests and kill monsters to make better equipment to fight harder monsters. Just a note out to those people that complain that this is hard, just keep practicing.

Camera: IT'S PERFECTLY FINE

People will complain a lot about the camera in this game, about how you can't lock onto any monsters. Well let me ask you this, if you're locked onto a monster how will you know where the other monsters are? How will you fit a lock on button onto the cramped controls? I once saw a site try to lie about the camera and make it seem like you had to stop to turn the camera. Anyways they did do 1 thing to improve the camera and that is when you're by a wall it will zoom to the side so you can see better.

Overall: 8/10

Could be better if you kept it on the console and added more stuff to the game (I fail to see how they wouldn't add more stuff, this game isn't about story it's about making equipment and fighting monsters, add more equipment and monsters and you'll have a happy fan base).
