Worms: Open Warfare
Review by MoeBear
"Worms, The Meaningless War"
INTRO
This is the first Worms game I have every played. I have heard so much good things about this franchise, so eventually I had to play a game. They have been countless Worm games, from the early 90 's to now. This might be a game better off played on a console screen and multi player. Cause on a hand held system, I don't think it quite cuts the mustard. I am really confused at how this game style has been around such a long time and has progress from console after console.
GAME PLAY
This is the most bizarre game play I have ever seen. It is one style from start to finish. If you do not get bored from this, then you must be a die-hard fan of Worms. All you do from the beginning is fight one worm with another. Trying to wait out the computer's turn will drive you nuts, and the computer never misses, and knows exactly where to aim. Good luck trying to beat this game. You have a large rock or area with 3 to 4 worms on each side. You control one at a time to fire a weapon. If you're all the way on the right, you must scroll all the way to the left to see whom you going to target. When you aim, you don't see the off screen target, you must assume where it is going to aim and land. Please this is pathetic. Your weapons stink to top it off and this is your game play through out the whole game. In one simple word all I have to say is "Give me a break."
APPEARANCE
This part is nothing special to brag about either. I mean it looks ok, don't get me wrong, but it's the same thing over and over again. There is nothing impressive about the graphic appearance. You have your worms on each side, on a piece of terrain, on every screen over and over again. Nothing changes, just the color or the background. For example you can go from summer to winter. There are no major graphics in this game. The sound is the same boring sound effects over and over again. Talk about repetitive.
OVERALL
For all you die hard worm fans, sorry, but I didn't like this game at all. This game is not for me. Just because one game is not for one person, it doesn't mean the same for other player. Like I said before maybe with multi players, it plays better, then again, good luck tring to find some one with the same game at the same time.
