"A new spin on the Battlefront series."

Introduction: Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron is the latest addition to the hit Battlefront series. Renegade Squadron features a brand new never before told story, New Graphics, an Online feature and much much more. So lets get right into it.

Graphics: 9/10 As soon as you start playing this game you will notice the cutting edge graphics. Featuring some stunning lighting effects, great character models, and very detailed worlds that will feel very much alive. Although the graphics are very nice and push the limits of the PSP system, small improvements are still needed to make this area get the 10/10.

Sound: 9/10 If you have played a Star Wars game before this area will come as no surprise. All the classic songs you know and love from the movies will be in this game. Also some great familiar sounds while you are playing the game. The PSP has been known for having lacking audio, but Renegade Squadron will push the audio to the limits, you will have no trouble listening to whats being said or whats going on. Also features subtitles for anyone who needs them. A very small lack of sounds made this fall just short of the 10/10.

Game-play: 10/10 Now this is where the game really shines. Renegade Squadron is ground breaking with the main new thing they invented, customizable kits. They have gotten rid of the old system of "classes"(i.e. Sniper, Rifleman, Engineer etc.), instead now you completely customize your kit with a huge selection of weapons and powerups to choose from, a set limit of 100 credits while choosing weapons ensures that it remains balanced. Also a new gameplay mode has been added, Hero CTF, where the person carrying the flag gets to play as a hero. So whether your playing by yourself, online, or with buddies you will find this game very addicting and extremely fun. I'll break it down into a few parts so you know what you can do when you pick this game up:

-Single Player, Campaign Mode: An excellent continuation from the old Battlefronts. The new campaign mode is even more exciting, featuring new and inventive objectives for you to deal with. Play on the Elite difficulty setting for a real challenge.

-Single Player, Galactic Conquest: Take over the Galaxy in Galactic Conquest mode. Galactic Conquest has been reinvented and redone. If you were used to the last one you will have trouble getting used to this one. While it does have a learning curve, you will still have lots of fun taking on the Empire(or Rebellion) in this new ingenious Galactic Conquest.

-Multi-player, Ad Hoc Mode: Pick the the PSP and play wireless with nearby friends. This mode is extremely fun for two friends who either wanna get better at playing, or kill each other endlessly. Ad Hoc is compatible with up to 8 players.

-Multi-Player, Infrastructure mode: This is where the game really shines, Go online and battle with people from all over the world! This newest feature was something that was missing from Battlefront II for the PSP. You will lose yourself in the new online feature, finding yourself changing your kit numerous times to meet the different threats you will face. The online mode definitely extend the life of this game for a long long time.

Conclusion: Renegade Squadron is a new and inventive addition to the PSP. I strongly recommend this game for anyone looking for something new on the PSP. With new awesome gameplay features, a host of new weapons and heroes to choose from, you can't go wrong with this game. I recommend purchasing this game, renting it will only tease you.
