WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2008

"SVR 08 was Eh..."

Playing WWE Smackdown VS RAW 2008 for the Sony PSP was ok at best. A few things were a little different than Smackdown VS RAW 2007, but you get the idea. The one thing that was noticeably different was defintiley the controls.. Other than that, it was still relatively the same as its counterpart, 2007. Here, I am going to review things about the game such as controls, roster, gameplay, graphics, and other topics.

Controls
as I noted before, the controls were slightly different than WWE Smackdown VS RAW 2007. For instance, in order to do your finishing manuever, you have to store it first, then you have to work your life bar back to the top in order to actually commit the move. A little hard to explain, but I think you get the idea. Other than that however, it wasn't real bad. One feature that they added that I liked that they added was free run. You can run wherever you want as if you were if you were running by yourself. Very unique. 6/10

Roster:
The roster is better featuring ECW guys like Sabu, Tommy Dreamer, Terry Funk etc. It was a bummer to find out that RVD wasn't in it, however, you can create his moveset and his entrance rather easily. If you want a roster that was well thought out, I suggest this game. It features legends, divas, RAW, Smackdown!, and ECW's best. good roster, 8/10

Gameplay:
I am a little confused at the gameplay because you have less modes than what you had in 2007. Basically, they seemed to have taken a step back as far as the gameplay goes. All they have is 24/7 Mode, where you make a wrestler into a legend. Its still rather entertaining though, but it just lacks an array of storylines. There is not that much in the mode, but the mode itself is rather thoughtful. However, I just think it is a step back from the 07 game modes.

Graphics"
not too much to really say about graphics, because I believe they are the exact same as 2007, so there is not that much to really say about it. 5/10

Soundtrack:
The soundtrack gets you pumped up for the game featuring songs from Nonpoint, Sevendust, etc. Great songs from the artists 10/10

Is it Recommended?:
Only if you plan on getting a game with an updated roster, than yes. However, just expect the same graphics as 2007. I would recommend trying it out before you buy.
