FIFA Soccer

"An impressive handheld football game."
This is the first FIFA soccer game I have ever played and I am quite impressed. An amazing 400 teams to choose from (300 which I have never heard of) which makes the game quite amusing. I play it often on my PSP and think many others would too.
My Review
Gameplay - 9/10: Great gameplay considering that it is for a handheld system. It's soccer what else can you ask from it? I only found one major flaw in gameplay, whenever the ball goes out of bounds the game stalls out for a few seconds. (It's not just my game) That doesn't make the game any less fun. There is also a slight challenge to get the ball to the player you need it to go to because, you have little control of how hard your passes are.
Sound - 8/10: This game has great sound. The play by play commentators don't show much emotion but cover the game very well. The sounds the crowd makes according to what is happening in the game is very realistic. When the ball hits the post on a shot you can the metal ring. Has quite a large soundtrack but plays the same songs repeatedly. Referees blow their whistles at the right times which adds to the realism. You can hear the player's feet hit the ball on shots and passes.
Graphics - 8/10: This game has descent graphics. When the camera view is zoomed out (most of the time in the game) all you can see is a hazy figure with the correct skin colour, hair, and jersey color. Yet, when the camera zooms in the graphics are good. You can see the rain and snow very easily during the game. (the weather is random). Some of the best graphics for a PSP game yet.
Replay Value - 10/10: It is very addicting so you will find yourself playing it very often. Over 400 teams makes it fun to choose a team you have never heard of and play as them. You can play full seasons and face other teams in the league to win trophies to put in your trophy case which will take quite awhile to fill. You can also get better until you can play on the hardest difficulty which when you win on it you feel like a superstar!
Buy or Rent - BUY very addiciting.
Overall I give FIFA soccer for the PSP a 8 out of 10 and I expect I will buy the hopefully impressive next installment for the PSP, FIFA 06.
