Me & My Katamari

"No self-respecting PSP owner should go without playing this gem."

Me and my Katamari is the Katamari Damacy's debut on handheld gaming systems, and it does not disappoint.

Graphics - 9/10
Katamari Damacy may not have the photo-realistic graphics that most gamers crave, but it does have a charming graphical style that is easily enjoyable. Everything is displayed in a rather "blocky" state, and everything appears to be almost like toys. It's difficult to capture their looks with words, so I'll just move onto the next segment of this review.

Story - 5/10
Me and my Katamari has a GREAT story. You begin as a humble detective, and you soon learn of a cult called the Esoteric Order of Dagon. Then from then on out, you're battling the evil forces of Fishmen, Deep Ones, and Shoggoths, using the power of your mighty Katamari. Then, at the shocking conclusion, you learn that the entire time, you were actually a D-Wait, what do you mean this is the wrong game? ..Okay, so Me and my Katamari doesn't have much of a story at all. The King of Cosmos is back, and this time he wants you to help make islands for different animals to live on. It's simple, but the game's focus really isn't the story.

Gameplay - 10/10
The gameplay of this game may not seem very interesting at first glance, but once you play it, you won't be able to put it down, The entire point of the game is to go through a city/house with your Katamari, and roll up as many things as you can, to make your Katamari the size indicated by the goal by the time the timer runs out. On top of that, each animal makes a request about what type of Katamari they want, whether it be Sweet, Hard, or Grand. When the timer runs out, you are judged, and you go on to the next city. Simple, but fun.

Sound - 10/10
The sound in this game is amazing. Every song in the soundtrack is beautifully made, and you will find yourself listening to them long after the completion of the game. The sounds that the Katamari make when it picks things up can be amusing, and are well-made.

Overall - 9
Me and my Katamari is a great game for the PSP that everyone should play. If you don't have it, or haven't played it, you need to go get is as soon as possible.
