Madden NFL 2009, released on August 12, 2008, featuring the 20th anniversary of madden.

Game play 10/10 - NFL 09 features a “rookie control mode” for the first time players and “advanced control mode” for the veterans. This made the first timers played like a pro because all you need to do(in rookie mode) is to just press “X”, yes you heard me right, just press “X”.

Graphics 9/10 - Some might think that the graphics will not be satisfactory because it's on a psp console, think again, the graphics is amazingly stunning. Try to pause the game, then go to the “instant replay”, then zoom it, can you see?? The players are well done and even the stadium is quite good! The only thing that's disappointing is the crowd; they look like paper cut-outs.

Sounds 6/10 - Sounds… The music's are good although some are quite awkward. The crowd gets you pumped up when they cheer for you. The commentators are a little repetitive on their “comments” which makes it annoying. Lastly the players' voice can be heard although almost all the times they are just roars and shouts. You will rarely hear words from the players.

Play time/Replayability 10/10 – In one match you could finish it in 1 min (yes 1 min) minimum and 15 minutes maximum quarter length. There are 4 quarters in one game so to sum it up you could finish a game in 4 minutes (wow that's a short one) and maximum of an HOUR (wow I bet your eyes are already swollen there). While in Franchise Mode the play time depends on you. As for replayability, you could play Franchise Mode thirty two times, why thirty two times? Because there are 32 teams in NFL. So if you're done in one team try another and another. Done with the Franchise? Then finish the superstar challenges if I'm not wrong there are a total of five tiers in the challenges. You're so good you finished both Franchise and Superstar challenges? Then test your skills ONLINE, yes you could compete with other NFL fans world wide with the infrastructure mode and you can also compete through ad hoc.

Final recommendation – Buy or rent? I recommend buy, why would you rent one? You won't enjoy playing NFL in like a week or two after that you will return it. Buy one and hone your skills. Who knows you might be an NFL player in the future.
