Review by AegisDawn

"A fun game, but quickly loses it's engrossing magic."

This review is based on a completely unbiased opinion towards Marvel or any of the games that have been released related to it.

STORY: 5/10

The story is weak. I'll tell you that from the start. I will say that the combination of the heroes and villains is most likely what gave the story 5 points, but that is really the only cool part of the plot. It's a constant: "I'm going to destroy [enter lame, stereotypical plot area] and there is nothing you can do! 'Oh no, so many lives will be lost! I'll kill you!" and etc. I know those are really only subplots, but they build towards the main story, so it does matter.

GAMEPLAY: 7/10

The gameplay is fun and addicting...at first. After a while, it feels like you're playing the SAME thing over and over again. You'll realize this after the end of Act 1, when you have done a few survival missions to try and level up your heroes. And I know, the vast selection of heroes should help towards the overall effect of gameplay since they are all different, and it does, just not as much as you would think.

SOUND AND GRAPHICS: 9/10

Not much to say here. The sound is fantastic, and the graphics are good, but the PSP could produce better. It's easy to tell where and who you and the enemies are, and in the end, isn't all that matters being able to tell what you are doing? In my opinion, graphics and sound don't make a game. Pong was fun, was it not? And for that reason, I tend to not focus on graphics as much.

OVERALL: 6/10 [NOT A COMBINED SCORE]

Yes, the gameplay is fun for a short while, but the story flat out sucks. I like games with good storylines, which is probably why I despise the Monster Hunter games. Either way, the game is okay at best. If you really want it, then buy it, the collection of Marvel characters will have you smiling time and time again, but the game itself isn't as fun as you may think. This game is too long to be beaten in a week, so if you want to play the game through, then renting is not an option, unless you plan on renting it two or three times.

Note: This is just my two cents worth, feel free to get it, but just think before you go and buy it simply because you want another PSP game.
