Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness

"One of, if not the greatest, games I've ever played."

Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness is pretty much a port of the PS2 Hour of Darkness, but it shows promising results unlike many ports these days. I'm going to break up the sections and give ratings for each one, like most people do.

STORY: (10/10)

The story is humorous, but really makes you go "Holy crap!" near the end. There are some wow moments, and some moments when you'll probably be laughing more than you ever have at a game before. The story is great, and there isn't much more to it. It's humorous, serious, and interesting at the same time. Three birds with one stone deserves a 30/10, too bad I can't go that high.

GAMEPLAY: (10/10)

It's like every other strategy game you've played... if you added around four hundred things to that game. There are some many aspects of the game that I, even after beating it twice, still can't fully grasp yet. The gameplay is amazing, and will easily provide HUNDREDS of hours of gameplay to any strategy gamer, from one who is just starting, to a strategy veteran.

MUSIC: (10/10)

The music is really fitting at every place you travel to. And in the last few fights, the music gives you a huge feeling of satisfactory, as if you're just owning life in some way or another.

DIFFICULTY: 8.2/10

The learning curve is steep, get that in your head NOW. Don't expect to understand everything to moment you complete the tutorials. The battles can be challenging, where you'll really have to use your mind instead of your levels. Now, the 8.2 means a HIGH difficulty, not that it was too easy. Don't expect a walk in the park, it's much more difficult than it appears to be.

BONUSES: (10/10)

This game has the most bonuses in any game I've played. Easily. There is a completely different story, plenty of items to steal, level up, and characters that can reach an amazing LV.185,000 + 9,999. The game provides hours of enjoyment, and I'll probably spend the next few months, if not years, playing through the bonuses.

OVERALL: (10/10)

I would really like to give this game a higher score than 10, since I am in so much love with it, but I sadly can't. It's great, with lovable characters, and a main character that you will just be attached to at the end of the game. It's a great game, and you'll have one heck of a ride. The last fight isn't nearly the last in a game like this.
