"A new concept and they hit the nail on the head!"

This is a brand new game for the PSP. This Metal Gear had nothing to do with any of the previous Metal Gears. So please don't get yourself confused while you are playing. A lot of people on the message board seems to think that this game has something to do with the other Metal Gears but I don't know where they have been getting this info because this is totally wrong. Anyways this game is a very good game very innovative. When I first put this game in it took me a little bit to get used to the gameplay but after that it was all good from then on out. Now if you don't mind I will start with the review.

Sound 9/10
The sound here is basically a mix from all the Metal Gear's. They did an excellent job with the music in this game. The music sort of makes you feel that you are right there beside Snake. And if you can get that kind of feeling then I am sure that it means that they really took their time and making this part of the game good for all the players.

Controls 9/10
Controls are really the same as in all Metal Gear games. Hit O to accept all of your commands and X to not choose that command. While you are playing you will also have to wait for the enemy to make their move before you can control Snake again so instead of waiting for the enemies to walk (which and take a long time) simply hit the triangle button while they are making their move and they will speed up greatly. Once I figured this out it became second nature to use it because without it it would of taken a really long time for your turn to come back around. The controls might take a little while to get used to because I know that even though I was at the end of the game I would occasionally hit the wrong button and do something that I didn't want to do.

Story 10/10
WOW I was totally shocked but the end of the game. I was so surprised that I really was speechless. This game has one of the best stories I have seen in a Metal Gear game because of how many plot twists that are in the game. This is by far my favorite Metal Gear game just based on the story. This game brings back the old hero Solid Snake (a.k.a. Hans Davis??) Well anyway He is back 7 years after Metal Gear Solid 2. He doesn't seem to have aged much but when his face comes up so you know that he is talking his face seems to of aged but thats the only way to really tell. Well this is Snake's job. Someone has hijacked a plane and they want to get revenge. They are demanding the pythagoras...which I won't get into here but it is defiantly one of those plot twists I was talking about earlier. Well anyways they want it and if they don't get it they will crash the plane that they are in and all the other planes that are in the air at that time. Ohh....there is also a bomb on the plane.

Gameplay 10/10
Here is where people decide if this game is either a buy or rent...or in some cases not even a rent. I will hopefully give you the information that you need so that you can buy the game. This game is long. Its over a 20 hour game. This game is a turn based stratigy game. So if you don't like that then you probably won't like this game. This is a card game...yes I said card game but don't let that make your hopes for this game go down. This isn't a pokemon or yu-gi-oh type of card game...well it is a little (if you consider guns and missiles like summoning monsters) But this game is good even though it has the card game part. You need to watch your "cost" because each card has a number. The higher the number the longer it will take for your turn to come back around. Also they have the CQC back so if you are a fan of that then you will be happy. If you are looking for a Metal Gear game with lots of bosses then don't get your hopes up here. There are some bosses but not like in the other games. Some of the levels are can take a long time to finish. I remember one level that I died 5 times at the very end of the level. In all the level took me over 2 hours to finish. This game is definitely worth the $40.00.

Graphics 9/10
The graphics are basically top view of all the character. But when you use character cards they go into about 20 seconds of actual gameplay from other Metal Gear games. So that alone was a really good part of this game adding clips of other metal gear games to this. Graphics really don't play a huge roll in this game because the only time you see anything worth while is when you use the character cards.

Rent or Buy??
I recommend you rent the game first only if you don't like the card games. But if you are a true Metal Gear fan than this part of the game won't stop you from picking up the game and enjoying it.
