Me & My Katamari
Review by RabMush
"Me and My Katamari = Insta-win!"
Gameplay: 10/10
The object of Me and My Katamari is a very simple (and odd) one. You roll a ball around, which is known as the Katamari, and when you roll over something, you pick it up.
I have no idea why this is so fun. Maybe it's because if the pride you get when you're rolling up entire cities and mountains with ease... who knows? It's just damn fun
Think about this for a second: You start the level, and your Katamari is about the size of a tack. You slowly build up the Katamari until you're picking up kleenex boxes and cats (yes, cats).
You roll out the door of the house you start out in and begin to add bushes to your Katamari. Soon you're rolling up people, bikes, fences, ect... After a minute or two, you're big enough to roll over the house that you start out in. As you consume the entire neighborhood with your deathball, you see cities over the horizion. You roll to the city and eventually you can destroy skyscrapers.
After your katamari is in the clouds (which add to the Katamari) you start rolling up entire mountains.
Sound fun?
Controls: 10/10
Since I've played the PS2 versions of this game (which requires both analog sticks) I was skeptical about the control scheme.
Luckily, the makers of this game figured out how to make it all work with one analog stick. YAY!
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics are phenominal for a handheld system. They easily rival it's PS2 counterparts. The art-style is vibrant and colorful.
;D
Sound: 10 /10
The music for this game would be a good enough reason by it's self to shell out the $40. The only thing that I would change is the fact that there is no sound during the loading screens (which there are very few of).
Replay-a-bility: 8/10
There's a lot to replay this game for. Better scores, getting all of the unlockables, mini-games, ect.
In each level there is a few hidden characters and presents. To collect them you just need to roll over them and they'll be added to your treasure chest.
And there is a also a 2D Katamari mini-game to unlock. I don't have it yet, but alot of people say that it is as fun as the main game
Rent or Buy?
This game is a buy. No question. All PSP owners need this game in their library.
Thanks for reading my first review! Hope it was good >_> <_<
