"Worms blowing the crap out of each other. 'Nuff said"

Worms: Open Warfare is the first Worms game for the PSP, and it's quite an impressive little title. Worms: Open Warfare manages to keep fans of the series hooked, while it also should be able to bring in a few new fans.

Story:
There is no story. Can't worms just blow each other up just for fun?

Graphics:
I have to say, this is an impressive game graphically. The FMV sequences especially are very well done. All the animations are done smoothly, and loading times are no problem whatsoever. 2D fans will freak.

Audio:
Boring and funny at the same time. On one side, what little music in the game is very forgettable. On the other side, I just love it when the worms talk. They have hilarious voices, and you'll be chuckling when you hear a very high pitched worm yell " Go! Go! Go!"

Gameplay:
Anyone who has played previous Worms games knows the deal: You control a team of 4 worms, and the object of the game is to eliminate the other teams of worms. You take turns selecting which way to move your worms, selecting weapons, and choosing which worms to blow the crap out of. It's very fun and refreshing. It plays very similar to Gunbound, for those who play that game. The controls are also very easy to get used to. Strategy fans will flip.

However, some fans of the series may be disappointed in the lack of weapons. There are a considerable amount missing that were in other Worms games that could have easily been put it given a bit more time. But others won't be disappointed. There are weapons ranging from the standard Shotgun and Grenades, to Exploding Sheep and Banana bombs. Great fun.

You can also make your own team of worms. You can give each of the four worms their own name, name the entire team, even pick what language they speak when in battle. It's hilarious listening to the worms speak with a London or Russian accent.

Of course, playing against a nearby buddy is endless fun, but by far the biggest flaw of this game is the lack of online. I don't know why it's not in, but it sure would've been a hell of a time playing against people around the world, and with it I wouldn't waste anytime boosting my score up to a 10. But no online makes me cry.
