please let me know, and I will have fun with the fool who stole my

May the babbling begin...

Ah, I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. You see, I'd
acquired a new party member, and was about 100 hours into DWVII.
What happened? Well, I did not know where to go next. It seemed
that I had collected all of the shards which I could have, so I
must have placed them in a pedestal without knowing. I remembered
doing something like that, and then returning, because my newest
party member had mastered a class and I wanted to take him back
to Dharma to give him a new one.
As a result of my troubles -- not knowing what portal to
take, what shards to get, where to go next -- I decided to map
out the Ancient Fane. Though I am aware that the strategy guide
for DWVII has a map in it, I have not purchased that guide, and
I do not plan to. I thought of running to the store to copy down
the information from it for my own personal use, but decided it
would be more fun and helpful to others to create a digital ver-
sion of the same thing (without copying it out of Prima's book
and thereby giving their lawyers warrant to come beat me).
However, it has its limitation: I have not yet beaten the
game, so the listing is incomplete. I do not plan on peeking at
Prima's guidebook to complete it, but would rather complete it
as I make progress through the game. Please DO NOT send me any
E-Mails saying the names of the rest of the cities: this is a
kind of marker -- you know, "been there, done that" -- for me
personally, so I will not add in the names of cities I have yet
to visit. This is a WORK IN PROGRESS.
I hope it can be of some help to, well, whoever is reading
this guide right now!

UPDATE NOTE: I am suspicious of the fane at this point. I have
some "Mysterious Shards" and do not yet know where they go. Al-
so, I am at the kingdom of Coastal but I have not conquered its
troubles yet. So I do not know what happens after that is done.
This guide remains "unfinished" until I learn as to whether it
is done or not.

VIEWING NOTE: You will want to maximize the size of this win-
dow. This document was written using the Fixedsys font, whose
name is self-explanatory. It is highly reccomended that you
view this in Fixedsys or in some other fixed font so it will
display properly, else you will have a jumbled mess.

LEGAL NOTES: "Dragon Warrior/Quest VII" is (C) the good ol' folks
at Enix. Sony PlayStation is (C) the not-so-good-ol'folks at Sony.
Yeah, I didn't mention the PlayStation until now, but now I did.
Foo'. Prima is (C) Prima, too. For good measure, Microsoft is (C)
Microsoft, IBM is (C) IBM, and if you're using a Mac, worry not,
for Macs are (C) Macintosh/Apple. I wonder who has the copyright
on my hat...
