    This is a collection of all the information on Jobs, 
    Spells, and Skills that I found myself constantly wanting 
    to know while playing through Dragon Warrior VII. With that 
    said, I think the rest of the guide speaks for itself.

                             -Explanation-
    Note: you might want to just skip past this part for now 
    and come back to it later when you have questions about on 
    stuff in the Monster Job section and Human Job section.
    
    
    Job Name: Self-explanatory, I think.
    
    (Rank ...): In battle, monster hearts have a rarity ranking 
    from A to G (Rank A being the least rare and Rank G being 
    extremely rare). Rank A-C is not so rare. Rank D-F is about 
    the same rarity as most monster treasure. Rank G is for 
    people with extreme luck and lots of time to spare.
    
    SPECIAL ABILITIES: some jobs have auto abilities that will 
    occasionally go into effect such as dodging an attack or 
    instant kill. I don't know all of them and I'm not even 
    sure if all jobs have a special ability but I've listed 
    those that I'm pretty sure about.
    
    MASTERY BONUS: more advanced jobs will receive a small 
    bonus to one stat upon reaching Level 8.
    
    USEFUL SKILLS: these are skills that I feel are especially 
    useful over the course of the game. It's just my opinion so 
    you have every right to disagree. 
    
    COMBINATIONS: this includes any jobs you must master in 
    order to access the job. It also includes combinations in 
    which the job may later be used to access even better jobs.
    
    OBTAINING HEART: tells you where you can expect to find the 
    monster's heart. My guidebook says that certain monster 
    hearts are not available in battle (CosmoBog, HellGiant, 
    GigaMute, PlatKing, and Esterk) but some people say they've 
    won some of these in battle. I can't prove them wrong so 
    I've marked these with a "?".
    
    
    How could you possibly have a question over this part? It's 
    simple, right?

    Level 8 Resistances
    These are the spells and skills I'm talking about when I 
    say a monster job has an A, B, C, or - on, say, Fireball 
    resistance.
    
    A = immunity
    B = medium resistance
    C = small resistance
    - = no resistance

    STAT CHANGES
    This refers to how the stats for a job will increase and 
    decrease compared to having no job at all. (These are just 
    sample numbers.)

    -HYBRID SKILLS-
    These are Hybrid Skills which you can learn by fighting a 
    certain number of battles in one class and then immediately 
    fighting a certain number of battles in the other class. 
    They are only available for human jobs. The * marks the 
    skills which I think are most useful. (See the FAQ section 
    at the end for more about Hybrid Skills.)
    Fighter + Thief    = Hybrid Skill
    Fighter + Dancer   = Hybrid Skill
    Fighter + Bard     = Hybrid Skill

    Q2: How do I learn Hybrid Skills?
    
    A2: You must fight a certain number of battles in two 
    specific jobs back-to-back. Let's say you want to learn 
    "SwordDanc." You would need to fight a certain number of 
    battles as a Warrior and then switch to a Dancer and fight 
    a certain number of battles. (Or you could start with the 
    Dancer and switch to the Warrior--the order does not 
    matter) After a battle, if it says, "JoeBlow is making up!" 
    or "As a Warrior, JoeBlow is becoming matured." Then it is 
    time to switch to the other job, in this case the Dancer. 
    If your Dancer has reached Level 5 Mastery then you will 
    need to fight about 30 battles. Otherwise you just need to 
    get your Dancer to Level 5 Mastery.
    
    Q3: How can I increase my chances of getting a monster 
    heart in battle.
    
    A3: There's not much you can do other than fight the same 
    monster over and over again. Always kill last the monster 
    whose heart you want. Also, try to find an area where the 
    enemy you want appears often and in large numbers. I tend 
    to think that killing 8 BoltRats in a single battle gives 
    me a better chance of finding a BoltRat Heart as opposed to 
    killing 2 BoltRats in a singal battle. However this 
    probably isn't true since the game only cares about the 
    last monster you kill. Stealing from a monster will not 
    affect your chances of getting a heart. Some people believe 
    that packing your houses at the Monster Park with the 
    monster whose heart you want will increase your chances of 
    that monster dropping a heart. For now, I remain 
    unconvinced as to the effectiveness of this strategy. But, 
    you might as well try it since, sooner or later, you will 
    get bored of killing the same monster so filling up your 
    monster houses just becomes something to break up the 
    monotony.
    
    Q4: I've killed hundreds of X monster and have tamed only 
    three or four. How am I supposed to fill up a monster house 
    at this rate?
    
    A4: First you must assign a monster house to a monster you 
    have already tamed. Next, use the Tamer's skill called 
    "Tamer" on a monster in battle. The more you use it on the 
    monster, the better your chances of taming it. There are 
    very few monsters that can resist having Tamer used on them 
    four times. But I say again, don't expect filling your 
    houses with monsters to help you get hearts. It does, 
    however, alleviate the boredom when you're up to, like, 500 
    kills.
    
    Q5: Can you recommend a job path for my characters?
    
    A5: Not really. However, I can say that if I were to start 
    my characters all over again the first thing I would do 
    differently is go after the good Hybrid Skills. I would 
    also choose one character to work with monster jobs aiming 
    for a Rosevine and Rainhawk since all the hearts necessary 
    for these jobs are provided in treasure chests through the 
    course of the game.
    
    Q6: How do I learn Majustis and Gigastis?
    
    A6: Talk to the Hight Priest in the Great Fane south of 
    Mardra in the Past. Go to the Present and visit the High 
    Priest's grave underneath the Great Fane. The hero will 
    learn Majustis. Talk to the High Priest again in the Past. 
    Later, go back to his grave in the Present and the Hero 
    will learn Gigastis.

    Q8: Can you recommend some spells and skills
    
    Q9: I'll just recommend some alternatives to the usual 
    HellFlame-and-SwordDance combination that most people use. 
    "WhiteAir" is slightly stronger than HellFlame and consumes 
    0 MP but few people learn it since the requirements are 
    pretty stiff. "CallArmy" costs gold to use but does more 
    damage than SwordDanc. However, the power of SwordDanc can 
    be slightly increased with TwinHits so they're probably 
    pretty even. "ConfuHit" and "BigTrip" are just about the 
    only attacks in the game that inflict both bad status and 
    decent damage. "ZombieCut" is a nice skill to have for the 
    final battle. "Berserker" does nice, inexpensive damage but 
    reduces your resistances to zero for the remainder of the 
    round. But, then again, few enemies are able withstand much 
    after getting hit with a Berserker. If you find that Punch 
    misses too often, try equipping a Miracle Sword and using 
    "2EdgeHit." It's capable of doing the same damage as Punch 
    and the Miracle Sword will immediately recover the damage 
    you take from using 2EdgeHit. Still, it's not without its 
    risks... Also, consider having a Level 8 PlatKing equipped 
    with Evade Clothes, Dark Cloak, or Wind Robe use the skill 
    "Guardian" to make things easy for the rest of your group. 
    Finally, for fun, you might try equipping the Demon Spear 
    on a Paladin or EvilMech and using "RainSlash" or 
    "SwordDanc." 
    
    Q10: Where are some good places to hunt for hearts?
    
    A10: It's best to combine hunting for hearts with building 
    up job levels. Building up job levels helps take your mind 
    off the fact that you've just killed the same monster 300+ 
    times and still haven't got a heart. So, with that in mind, 
    you can fight Andreal, DeadNoble, and Gerion at the 4D Wind 
    Maze in Sky Town. I can think of no other place that has 
    three heart-dropping monsters in one area. Another good 
    place is Dark Palace 8F. You'll fight RainHawk and 
    WoePriest there. Also, the OgreKing in this area drop Ogre 
    Shields and the Behemoth drop Beast Claws (second best 
    weapon for Gabo). And of course this goes without saying 
    but Playing Lucky Panel at a casino is a quick way to get 
    hearts.
