I've been going through all my lists of codes, checking ones that work,
deleting ones which dont etc, and I decided that I might as well share them as
I compile them into a nice orderly list, as i havent seen too many gameshark
codes for the PAL version of FF8 around. Thats the basic reason for the
existence of this file.

To use a joker codes, first decide what buttons you would like to use to
activate the code. Then add the values up, and this gives you the xxxx value
for the code.

Example, if you want to assign the a particular code to be executed when
you press L3+R3 together, first add the values to get 0200+0400=0600. Now
say we want this to be used in a rendered area, so the appropriate code is 
D0070A98 0600. Now just insert this before each line of the code which you
would like to assign to the buttons. If you were assigning an in-battle code,
the code would be D008329E 0600. Easy huh? For an example of a joker code,
have a look at the debug mode code below. That should make it clear for you.

Excerpt from NeoFlares Debug Mode FAQ:

"Game Lobo, a well-known Japanese underground/hacking magazine posted a 
FF8 'Programmers Code' or debug in their April issue. Though this code 
is meant for the imported version of Final Fantasy VIII, the US 
version's code will soon be discovered -- after it's release. On with 
the guide!"

So credit goes to Game Lobo for being the original creator of the japan debug
code, which I used to find this PAL one.

The code allows you to access certain programmers debug features. I won't go
into too much detail, but if you want to use this code, I highly recommend
NeoFlare's Debug Room FAQ, found at

After turning the code on, when you are in a town (or anywhere off the world
map), simply press Select+L1+L2+R1+R2 to go to the debug room.
