"Heaven or Hell?"
The 22nd century...mankind has finally harnessed the power of magic. Science and industry are outlawed. Eventually, shockingly powerful bio-weapons are developed by fusing human and animal DNA with magic. This is the birth of the Gears
Interesting but very strange. A tournament is organized to select members for the organization to defeat the powerful and unstoppable monstrosity known as Justice. The winner of the tournament is granted a single wish. Like most fighting games, it involves a tournament.
These characters are pretty original. Each one of them looks awesome. Their design is pretty interesting and each character is a japanese anime design. Each character has his or her own reason for fighting.
The controls are simple but some of the more complex moves can be difficult to pull off. It can be more challenging to pull off certain moves when using the Analog stick. Some of the special techniques look simple but are difficult to pull off when actually playing the game. Also, this game can involve a lot of button mashing.
This game is great, but it is also very difficult. The CPU characters are very challenging and as the game progresses, you enemies get tougher and tougher. Your enemies can also perform their instant kills at the beginning of the match, so it can get frustrating. But don't let that stop you. There is a training mode for you to practice your techniques.
For a 2D figthing game, not bad. The graphics are very good. Each character has an unprecedented number of frames so that they all can perform a variety of moves which look totally awesome. For it's time, it has the most highly evolved graphics.
This game has some of the best soundtrack music ever. The music composer knew what he was doing. The soundtrack is metal rock style. Each character's backround music can fit their personality.
It's a fighting game. You can't really beat a fighting game. This game offers hidden bosses and others. Plus you will really need to practice your skills to achieve every secret in the game.
Amusing taunts and respects
Very challenging CPU characters
Enemies can use IKs too!
The game is pretty hard to find.
Can get frustrating from time to time
In conclusion, Guilty Gear is one of a great 2D fighting game. For it's time, it's one of the best. It is definately worth searching for, but since it's so rare, you might have to settle for renting it.
