    ---------------------------------
    1. Introduction
    ---------------------------------
Welcome to my NFL Blitz 2000 FAQ/Walkthrough. In this FAQ you will learn the
basics plus the Strategy that I use to win all the games I play. If you
don't believe me, you should go check out the wonderful FAQ I made on NFL
2K. I have gotten all good comments on it. I will be updating this FAQ at
least once a week so be sure to come back and read what I updated. Please
go read my NFL 2K FAQ and please go buy NFL 2K if you haven't, because it is
a better game then NFL Blitz 2000.

    ---------------------------------
    2. Update History
    ---------------------------------
January 16, 2000 - I decided to make this FAQ for Playstation and Nintendo
64 too. Also, make sure you check out my new website at:
    http://drethug.onlytoons.com/ultimatelive

November 22, 1999 - I had to post this great review by
ciberrafa@hotmail.com. It's a great review to read about the game. This is
the last version of this FAQ.

November 20, 1999 - I really don't enjoy working on this FAQ at all. I get
no support, no e-mail, and it's a pain. So this is the last version of my
NFL Blitz 2000 FAQ. I hoped this would be as good as my NFL 2K FAQ but it
fell way short. I have added one last review for this FAQ. I hope you
enjoyed this FAQ, and please look for my other FAQs.

November 19, 1999 - I have added a review about the game. You should read
that. That's all I have for now.

November 15, 1999 - I have been busy working on my other FAQs but I have
made a small update. I have added another review I made for this game.
It's a lot better than the first one. Hope you like it.

November 12, 1999 - I changed my mind. I will be updating this just like my
NFL 2K FAQ. Hopefully, it will get more popular and I will get more e-mail
about it. I have added another review to the review section. If you are
thinking about buying the game and aren't sure, you should read that review.
      That's all for now.

November 10, 1999 - I decided that I will not make this like my NFL 2K FAQ
and I will not be updating it anymore. I have gave you all the information
you need on NFL Blitz 2000. I am sorry, but I have two other FAQs that I
enjoy working on. This was just a FAQ I made when I was bored. Don't look
for another update but I may make one if I am extremely bored one day. I
still will answer and respond to e-mail you have about this FAQ or about the
game. Sorry and I hope you enjoy this FAQ. Oh yeah, thanks to Steve
    (cripplerx@hotmail.com) for making the macro.

November 8, 1999 - I am using the same exact format I used in my NFL 2K FAQ.
I have made a new section called Sites That Host This FAQ. These are the
sites that I gave permission to put this on their site. That's pretty much
it for this small update, I will have another soon that is actually about
    the game.

November 7, 1999 - Welcome to Version 1.0 of my NFL Blitz 2000 FAQ. I hope
you enjoy the FAQ because it took a while to make. You probably know who I
am if you enjoy football games because I have made the biggest and best FAQ
on NFL 2K. Please check back at least once a week because I will be
updating it a lot. Also, please check out my NFL 2K FAQ that is wonderful
    to read.

    3. Controls
    ---------------------------------
The controls for this game can not be more straight forward. After about
one game, you will have the controller memorized and it will be so easy to
pick who you are going to throw to.

    Initial Game Controls
    A................................Hurdle/Tackle
    B................................Pass/Change Player
    D-Pad............................Move Player

    R Trigger........................Blitz Passing/Audible

    ---------------------------------
    4. Game Modes
    ---------------------------------

the modes and have listed a brief description of each one.

    Hidden Plays
While playing a game of Blitz using a VMU you can hide the cursor by going
to the top left corner and then by pressing up twice. You can then look down
at the VMU screen to see which play you have highlighted even though it is
    hidden to everyone else!

    Personal Review:
    ---------------------------------
I bought the first NFL Blitz for Nintendo 64 a while ago. When I saw NFL
Blitz 2000 as a release for Dreamcast I was excited. But I saw NFL 2K and
wanted that game a lot more. So I bought NFL 2K on 9/9/99 and I got Blitz
for my birthday. Blitz is a great game for people who don't really like the
simulation that NFL 2K brings to you. I am really happy that I got the
game. It is pretty much like the first version but the graphics are better,
there are more plays, and the layout is better. If you are thinking of
buying NFL Blitz 2000 for Dreamcast and already own Blitz 2000 for N64 or
Playstation then I highly suggest you don't. All this game has over those
games is the graphics are slightly better. But if you own the first Blitz
for N64 or Playstation I highly suggest you get this near arcade perfect
game. Its worth the 50 bucks.

    Personal Review #2:
    ---------------------------------
When I heard NFL Blitz 200 was coming to Dreamcast I was very excited. Then
I saw previews of NFL 2K and decided not to buy it. I got it for my
birthday though and played it before Soul Calibur. The graphics were a lot
nicer, there were more plays, but it was pretty much like the original
blitz. I enjoyed playing it and I still do. It's kind of hard to play it
when you have NFL 2K though.

Gameplay: 9/10 - Hard hitting football action with no penalties. This is
fun with a lot of friends. One player mode is a bit boring if you keep on
playing it but if you have friends over or if you have brothers this game
will never get old. It's good to have if you are tired of NFL 2K.

Graphics - 7/10 - This game does not show what Dreamcast can do. The
graphics are a little nicer than the PSX version but they aren't close to
NFL 2K's. At least the guys look a lot nicer than they did in the original
    Blitz.

Sound - 10/10 - The announcers are great. They have a lot of funny things
to say. The backround music goes nicely with the game. A great game to
have. You should never play this game without the sound on.

Replay Value - 9/10 - This game will never get old. The one player mode
might get boring after you play the season mode of it. Multiplayer mode
will never get old though. You can play with three other people so it's a
great party game. This game will not stay off your shelf until the next
    blitz comes out.

Overall - 8/10 - A quality game to have if you own Dreamcast. It is worth
the $50.00 for sure. If you don't want to dish out the 50 bucks then I
highly suggest you rent this game if you have friends over. A great game
    overall.

The Blitz hits DC and it's one wild ride. Playing identical to its' cousins
on the N64 and PlayStation, Blitz 2000 is a hybrid of the arcade game Blitz
'99 and the home console versions of the original NFL Blitz. If you are
afraid of the mind-numbing detail of Sega's amazing NFL 2K then Blitz 2000
is your ticket to all-out arcade football action. The only problem you'll
have with this game is knowing when to quit.

We used to play Madden like this all the time; turn off the rules and the
penalties and let's just play the damn game. Who has time for all of that
offside nonsense? Unless you really know the game of football, you will get
creamed in games like the aforementioned Madden, Gameday and the beautiful
NFL 2K. A lot of people want the party atmosphere of a good competitive
arcade game where brain cells are a bonus rather than a necessity. NFL Blitz
    2000 is that game.

With 7 players on the field and absolutely no rules whatsoever (except it
now takes 30 yards to gain a first down), there is never any lag time in
Blitz 2000. You are either running like hell to get a first down or you are
running like hell to stop a first down. If the players are ever standing
still for longer than 3 seconds than you had better check and see if the
game has locked up. While on the offensive you'll have 3 pages of
customizable plays to choose from. You can reverse these plays if you like
or even change them at the line of scrimmage with an audible if you are
facing a lineup you don't care for. Defense is given 1 page to choose from.
If you want to play really smart, then select your plays with the VMU. For
players without a VMU installed in their controller (who can afford 4
VMU's?) they can press up twice at the play selection screen to hide the
cursor so that it will be virtually impossible for your opponents to
    discover your plays.

Once the ball is snapped you can choose from the regular "point and pass"
control or Blitz Passing which is a fancy name for Icon passing. Icon
passing is when each receiver corresponds to a button on the controller.
When the QB is frantically hunting for a man in the open, simply look for
his icon and press the right button. I personally prefer this style and I am
glad to see it in action on NFL Blitz 2000.

The fun of Blitz is the hitting, tackling and crushing of your opponents.
You'll feel every hit when you take them down. And this isn't just fancy
dive tackles we're talking about; you can flip these guys over with one arm
while they are running! It takes awhile to get used to the control,
especially when trying to line up tackles. Even though this game is easy to
get into and play, expect to have a few games under your belt before you are
    really comfortable.

Visually this game is identical to the arcade. The other consoles did an
admirable job but the horsepower under the hood of the DC makes this game
definitely come alive at home. Along with the graphics and smooth framerate,
you'll get sound bytes that are taken directly from the arcade and some new
    ones added for this version.

Porting just the arcade game over would have been decent enough but Midway
included some staples of the other home versions which are the Tournament
and Season modes. Take your favorites through an entire season and on to the
Super Bowl if you are good enough. One to Four players can battle it out
with either 2 on 2, 4 against the CPU...you name it. The Play Editor is a
great way to enhance the game when you are tired of the same old plays. If
you armchair coaches think you can make some better money plays, than this
is your chance. Save your plays to the VMU and surprise your buddies the
    next time you play.

The surprising amount of options makes NFL Blitz 2000 a serious contender in
home football games. It isn't as in-depth as NFL 2K nor does it try to be.
What Blitz 2000 does, it does very well; namely provide a well presented,
great looking, fast moving arcade experience that everyone can enjoy. The
added bonuses of the Season mode, Play Editor and Four Player ability make
    this a must have!

NFL Blitz 2000, not a real big sim football game but its still hella fun to
play with ok graphics and monster hits(especially after the play). This is a
real fun multiplayer game when anything goes.
Gameplay(9/10) - There is no penalties, which means you can anything you
want. The game is really fun on multiplayer, but it might get kinda boring
after a while on 1 Player so have some friends over when playing this. Its
not a sim like 2K but still very fun.

Graphics(8/10) - This looks the same as all the other versions of Blitz I
have played which really upsets me with what it could be like in the DC.

Control(7/10) - I dont really like the controls for this game it makes me
mad when you have to scramble and if you run right you will get killed but
you need to go that way so you can throw it to that reciever but there is a
way to set it, but I cant remember off the head.

Replay(9/10) - You will always be wanting to play this game again on
mutliplayer but I dont think you will on 1 Player though because it gets
kinda old without that good challenge and you also get to nail your friends
    after the play is over.

Overall(8/10) - The game is really fun, and its worth the money. The only
problem is the graphics could have been better I think, but there isnt
    anything wrong with the game.

This would be a great renetal when you have alot of friends over, but if you
have a bro who will play then I suggest you buy this game.

    Zone64.com Review
    ---------------------------------
When I first got my Dreamcast, of the three games I got, NFL Blitz 2000 was
one of them. After playing Blitz for N64, I knew that I didn't even have to
read any reviews, or the back of the box. This is the best extreme football
game you can ask for, and will leave none of it's buyers disapointed.

When I popped the disc into my Dreamcast, right away I found it more fun
then playing in the arcades. It is incredibly easy to get addicted to, and
so much fun to play all the way. The graphics are just as good, they are
top-knotch, high quality, whatever you want to use. The sound is so
realistic too. You too will love the sound of the bodies crunching after a
    big hit.

My favorite part is the All New 4 Player Mode. My friends are always over,
and we are having a blast just playing a realistic, anything-goes football
game when we are bored. Ever pissed when your friend scores a touchdown
against you? Stop his celebrating with a late hit. He will still get the
points, but maybe you'll get rid of some of that anger eh?

Despite the minor bugs in the game, and the some-what silly AI, there should
be no other complaints. The game seems to be a little rushed, and has
crashed on me once in a blue moon.

NFL 2K is a more realistic-type game, but does not compare to the hard hits
and rule breaking threats of NFL Blitz 2000. My advice to you is to get to
your nearest gaming store and get NFL Blitz 2000!

    ciberrafa@hotmail.com Review
    ---------------------------------
I can begin by saying that I have not personally played the arcade version
of NFL Blitz 2000, nor its predecessor so I cannot say wether this is a
faithful conversion or not; what I am able to say is that this is a solid
game on its own, yet it suffers from some basic gameplay flaws.
NFL Blitz is to football what NBA jam was to basketball: basically it keeps
the simulation side of the game to a minimum to create an almost fictional
mode of play. First thing you'll notice when starting a game, is that there
are only seven players for team; aside from that, there's no pass
interference calls, you need thirty yards to achieve a first down, etc.

Graphically, Blitz for the dreamcast is nothing like you ever seen before:
the players are highly detailed and it's easy to tell each player apart, the
grid is also highly detailed and has different details like the grass or
weather effects, everything running smooth at a consistent 60 fps, no
noticeable slowdown in sight. Having a NFL license, all of the teams are
included and feature perfect renditions of the official uniforms. There are
new animations implemented, like those where a tackle grabs the running back
by the arm and performs a wrestling lock on him, or the one where a tackled
player loses his helmet and it flies spinning. I cannot grade the graphics
    less than 9.

Gameplay wise, Blitz scores big: the interface is intuitive and easy to
master, the control is responsive and while the default button layout is
rather akward, you can reconfigure it to your taste. Blitz features the one
player game mode from the arcades where you pick a team and face the
remaining teams on the league(other players may join in, two per team) a
season mode, a tournament. This time around, midway has taken from previous
NBA games and included the ability to set your players on fire, wich turns
up the heat of the game, for once you achieve it your players have unlimited
turbo and are harder to tackle or block- just score three complete passes or
runs with the same player when on offense or two consecutive QB sacks when
    on defense.

One of Blitz's best assets is the ability to change your play on the fly by
calling audibles; and you can even configure those in your playbook! Those
happy owners of a Visual Memory Unit are in for a treat as the VMU enables
you to choose your play and hide it from your opponent- talk about having
the opposition guessing! - On the downside note, the customizable playbook
eats up a good 90 pages from your VMU (bummer!) but I guess real football
maniacs will appreciate the option to create their own offensive and
    deffensive plays. Noteworthy - 9

In the sound department, I feel that MIDWAY could've done better; I mean,
the game has taunts, and you can hear your QB calling audibles, but the
narrator and the players taunting grow really old really fast, there should
have been a wider variety and ingenuity in the voice overs. The music while
a tad repetitive keeps your adrenaline pumping. Good, but could've been
    better: 6

Fun factor: almost inexistent in one player mode, the CPU Ai is just too
cheap once you start facing the latter teams, like forcing fumbles and
intercepting passes in ways that you obviousy are not able to. But where
this game shines is on multiplayer, now three other players can join in and
have a two-on-two match. This is a classic party game from start to finish:
    7

Overall: BLitz is one game for football fans who cannot stand the simulation
heavy Madden games, or want somthing more lighthearted and over the top.
Stick to multiplayer tough, the CPU is way too cheap. NOTE: Those of you who
would rather prefer the more statisctical side of football wait for more
serious simulators. A game to spend the afternoon on: 7

What do you get when you cross the arcade version of NFL Blitz 99 with the
N64 version of NFL Blitz and add a touch of magic? That's simple silly. You
get NFL Blitz 2000 which is gonna eat you up. This is a great arcade game
that is now starting to sport some more depth in the form of the once
PlayStation elusive Play Editor. At the heart it's still a fast paced, no
rules, no fear pigskin brawl that players of all ages will love. The

You can't talk about football games without mentioning the game that changed
an industry; Madden Football. Yes, Madden has its' place in video game
history and rightfully so. For the millions of armchair quarterbacks out
there who love the sim aspects of such games, all the power to you. But
sometimes there is nothing better than a balls out game of no rules football
to get the testosterone pumping. Blitz games remind me of the few games of
football I played with the boys way back when. No rules, no refs, full
tackle, no helmets or protection. It was insanely dangerous and stupid and
I'd be a complete liar if I told you I wasn't terrified of getting my arms
or legs broken or worse. That's why I only played "a few" games. I may be
    stupid but I ain't crazy.

In Blitz 2000, all of your favorite teams can be played, each with their own
    strengths and weaknesses. But all the stats in the world wouldn't matter;
fans are still going to play their favorite teams no matter what, right? I
mean otherwise what would be the point? You identify with your team for many
reasons, the least of all having to do with their passing game or defense.

Just as in any sports game, arcade or sim, it is handy to know the rules of
the game before playing. If you haven't played Blitz before, I'd say a 30 -
60 minute learning curve will be in order. If you know nothing of football
and have never played a football video game before, you might need to spend
some extra-curricular time with this one. You must understand the ideas of
passing plays, running plays, earning first downs and tackles before
entering the gridiron. Picking up and playing Blitz isn't all that difficult
due to the arcade style of the gameplay. Icon passing, where you hold down
L2 and your 3 receivers have either a square, circle or triangle under them,
(which means a press of that corresponding button will send the pass to
them) is definitely suggested for beginners. This game is all about playing
a speedy, action packed game of football just like the NBA Jam series. In
fact, like NBA Jam if your team is doing well, they'll be on fire which
means they'll be pretty hard to stop. Real football this ain't.

Comparitive to the original NFL Blitz on PSX, Blitz 2000 has been given a
graphic upgrade. The graphics are cleaner and brighter and the animation is
smooth and quick, making it one of the nicest looking and playing football
games available on the PSX. I don't know if Midway increased the color
palette from the first game (I don't have it with me to give a side by side
comparison) but Blitz 2000 certainly does look more vibrant.

The one thing that has to be mentioned is the overall look and feel of the
game. The whole package is beautiful right down to the loading screens,
which you won't be seeing much of due to the quick loading. All I could
think of while watching Blitz 2000 go through the different screens while
starting a game is that this is one sleek looking presentation. Who doesn't
    love arcade production values?

The commentator dialogue has been improved and given quite a bit more to say
so it doesn't sound so repetitive. The players talk trash every now and then
after a play, when they are either helping each other up or piling on top of
some poor guy. It's no NHL 99, but it does the job.

The gameplay is king in Blitz 2000. You can select from 3 pages (fully
editable) of offensive plays or 1 page when on defense. You can even hide
your selection so that players 2, 3 & 4 won't know what you are going to
select. Once you get out to the line of scrimmage and see the opposing
team's lineup which you don't like the look of, simply call an audible and
change your play on the fly. And just wait until you see those bone
crunching flying tackles. With the vibration feature on, you can feel the
impact. Ouch. Play through an entire season or play the odd game. It's
    completely up to you.

As most video game sport franchises spit out the obligatory yearly upgrade,
it's understandable that you might be hesitant to purchase almost the same
game that you bought a year ago. In this case however, there is no choice.
Blitz 2000 plays better, looks better and even smells better than last years
entry. If you are a Blitz-Aholic than you have got to buy this game. The 4
player mode makes Blitz 2000 the party game of choice. Just be sure that in
your blind panic to get this masterpiece of gaming, that you don't
accidentally purchase the absolutely terrifying NFL Xtreme 2. Shudder...

    >From the moment i got my first Blitz i loved the addictive, arcade style, no
rule football game.. i don't really like football games, but Blitz was SO
fun, there are few to no aspects regarding more strategy other than moving
your players like chess pieces and being able to knock out opponents without
being penalized. I never played the arcade version, but i did own Blitz.. so
i guess this allows me compare abit, but on the Playstation version alone.
The graphics are almost the same as the older Blitz, you can perfectly see
players' movements.. even abit polygonal, they look amazing.. you get to
tackle, punch, jump, etc.. every move is rendered to perfection even though
i hear the arcade went at 60 frames per sec, the PS version goes at 30.
Blitz 2000 also incorporates many new things from the past version, you get
to see new stadiums (which is really a neat addition), and even at times
weather conditions that affect gameply. Another easilly noted addition (as
to gameplay and graphics) is the ability to be on fire, you get unlimited
turbo and relatively more strength when running through the deffensive
lines. As to your playbook, Blitz 2000 has around three times as much plays
as the older version, and within the game an extra page full of em.. though
you don't get to see them all at once and usually per game you get random
assigned plays which are located in different spots as the last you played..
so atleast you know you'll have to go around your usual moves and each time
create new strategies. Blitz 2000 incorporates a nice addition that the N64
Blitz had and the PS didn't, the ability to create your own plays which can
be saved and loaded.. also, this version lets you create your own deffensive
lines (which as far as i know the N64 Blitz couldn't). Also, you can play a
foursome using a multitap, one player is assigned a quarterback and the
others a player that can run for pass or stick to a close running move, you
can still play a tournament up to 9 players.. using two controllers, this is
    pretty neato too.

Being brought from the arcade.. and Midway.. other than the tight, fast,
arcade style bashing of players, you get to create codes while the game
loads.. either checking the exact combination or randomly hitting every
button on your controller.. you get from easy codes as no CPU assitance (to
prove yourself worthy without any help) to others like an invisible
    quarterback or big headed players.

In conclusion i guess all i can add is that Blitz 2000 isn't *really* a
strategic simulation of real football, its the closest to an arcade you'll
get.. fast and in your face, with no rules and no referree this game stands
to being a REALLY addictive, fun game.. even if you don't dig football games
    (like myself).

NFL Blitz 2000 is a fun, addictive game, simple as that. Of course if people
are actually looking for a football sim(and who would with Blitz?) will hate
it. Quite frankly, the only reason this game didn't get a 10 is because it
    takes forever to save/load information.
    Graphics:
The graphics are great in this game. They're not quite QB Club level, but
they're still great. The one thing that surprized me about the graphics,
Flutie got his helmet knocked off, and the face inside the helmet actually
looked like Flutie! That's GOTTA earn it another point 9/10

    Gameplay:
There isn't a lot to choose from in gameplay, as there's only turbo,
pass/change player, and hurdle/tackle buttons. But what is there, is great,
as Blitz is just there to have fun, not to showoff, or to do fancy tricks.
    8/10

    Fun Factor:
Now this is where Blitz can destroy everything else. It is easily the most
fun football game to play on the PSX. I mean, who DOESN'T love destroying
your opponents way after the whistle? And kickers have it too easy in
football, can't touch them? please. That's one of my favorite things to do
in the game, just destroy the kickers. 10/10

    ---------------------------------
NFL Blitz2000 is one of the latest football video games for the Sony
Playstation video game system. It may be best summed up by its
self-proclaimed motto: "No Rules, No Referee, No Mercy." What makes this
game unique is its simple, no-nonsense, fast gameplay, emphasis on
spectacular plays that one does not often see in "real" football, and last
but not least its comical violence.
The basic premise of the game is for the offensive team to try to advance
the ball 30 yards (instead of the usual 10) within four plays while the
defensive team does whatever it can to stop them. As in traditional
football, when one team reaches the other's endzone, a touchdown is scored.
One can choose from 27 different offensive plays or create your own plays to
humiliate your opponents. Similarly, you may also choose from a variety of
preset defensive plays or create your own. NFL Blitz2000 is an extreme
version of traditional football to say the least. In traditional football,
referees are needed to enforce certain rules intended to prevent the game
from getting out of hand and becoming excessively violent. However, in
Blitz2000 there are no referees! This makes the game much more enjoyable
without the trivial foul calls that usually only slow down the pace of the
game. Without referees, actions that usually result in penalties, such as
passing interference, roughing the passer, and performing late hits, are all
perfectly acceptable. Feel like bodyslamming the opponent's quarterback? Go
ahead. This is all in good-natured fun though. There is no blood, no body
parts flying around, and no injuries that occur. Occasionally after a
particular intense hit, the defenseman can be seen helping his fallen
    opponent up.

Moreover, showboating and trash-talking is emphasized and encouraged. For
example, when a player scores a touchdown, he dances and ridicules his
opponents in celebration. In traditional football, this is usually
prohibited by the referees, something that is not a problem here. In
addition, the hilarious announcer's commentary also adds to the comical
    aspects of the game.

Learning to play the game is fairly easy. There are no complex instructions
or procedures that must be remembered. Just select your play and advance the
ball to score. Defense comprises of stopping the man with the ball - simple.
Those new to the game should be able to become accustomed to NFL Blitz2000
after merely 15 minutes of playing. Even non-football fans (like myself) can
learn to enjoy this game. Owners of last year's edition of NFL Blitz should
also consider getting this new version. The quality of graphics and
animations has been improved. New plays and the ability of creating your own
plays are now available. The team rosters also have been updated to reflect
the current football season. In the sound department, no major changes or
improvements have been made. This is not necessarily bad since the announcer
is still as good (or bad) as he was last year. Perhaps the most important
improvement is the ability to have four player simultaneous play (compared
to only two in last year's version). Keep in mind however, that a "Multitap"
accessory (sold separately for approximately $22 - get a $10 coupon for
Buy.com from my site: g126.cjb.net ) along with four controllers ($8 at Best
Buy stores) are needed to enable this feature. It would be a good idea to
rent this game first to see if the changes and improvements are worth
    spending $40 for.

For those of you looking for fast-paced, fun-filled game of football look no
further. This game does not try to be a simulation of traditional football.
It tosses most of the restricitive rules out the window and leaves only the
bare bones necessary to have the most exciting and fun game of football
possible. What makes this game even more enjoyable is the fact that you can
have up to four players playing at once. Playing with actual human opponents
increases the fun factor of the game tenfold. If you have a Playstation and
some football loving friends then you must get this game!

    FFlechas Review (founded at Gamefaqs.com)
    ---------------------------------
For starters, there a few minor setback and one HUUUUUUUUUGE setback about
this game. Being that NFL Blitz 2000 is a football game, I thought this game
would suck ass. I am not a very big fan of sports games, I mean, think about
it. Ken Griffey Jr.'s Slugfest sucked. But this one took me by surprise.
Gameplay - 6 --> The huge setback. This game is great, and easy to beat...
if you know how to beat it. The computer can sometimes cheat. The CPU will
sometimes control you when you are trying to make a pass and will make you
miss it (No joke, it happened to me twice.). To add more frustration, there
are too many fumbles and interceptions. YOU fumble too much and THEY
    intercept too much.

Graphics - 7 --> One of the minor setbacks is that some of the players
look... well, apparently fat. Their limbs look like the size of a minigun.
Plus, their faces (Once the helmet comes off, yes, the helmet can come off.)
look like a piece of crap.

Sound/Music - 10 --> Ouch. The sounds of you tackling the other player,
    however, happens to sound realistic.

Controls - 10 --> Even for beginners, (Like myself, for instance.) the
controls are stable and easy to memorize.

Replayability - 9 --> This game is great, but frustrating. Since the
computer cheats and all, this game can cause you to stay away from this game
    for a minute or 15.

Overall - 7 --> The statistics show a lot of different scales, but this game
    deserves a seven (7).

Rent or Buy First? - rent --> Lots of frustration is in store for this game,
but if you have enough patience to withstand this game (And trust me, you'll
need _A LOT_!), this game is worth playing. Anyone else should only play for
    a couple of hours.

    MrMonkeyMan Review (founded at Gamefaqs.com)
    ---------------------------------
Let me get this out first, this game is great fun, as long as you bring some
friends along because the computer can get pretty boring to pla against.
With that out of the way, I can say the rest of the game is a blast,
    starting with the graphics.
    Graphics - 8
The graphics in this game aren't the greatest. They are very colorful, and
plain, but it does the job nicely. The characters are also a little large
and chunky, buts that alright, it justs add to the game.

    Control - 9
With the addition of a brand new passing system for Blitz 2000, this game is
far easier to play then the original. Instead of pushing the direction of
the reciever you want to pass to, you have buttons assigned to each one,
making less errors in passing. The characters also run around just like you
    would expect them to.

    Sound - 7
The sound sounds fine, but it can get very repetetive after you've been
playing for a while. The announcer isn't bad at first but after you've heard
everything he has to say, you just won't care anymore, just like most sports
games. The characters also make comments after the play, which are
entertaining, but once again, after a while you've heard em all, and you
    just don't care anymore.

    Gameplay - 9
This is what makes the game such a blast to play. It's super fast acrade
football. This year around there is also an inclusion of a 4 player mode,
which is great because now you and 3 of you friends can all play at the same
time. You'll be cursing at you friends all night.

If you enjoy football games, but want something different, or you enjoyed
the original Blitz, then I can't recommend this game enough, just remember
    to bring your friends along.

    7. Personal Strategy
    ---------------------------------
If you play me at NFL Blitz 2000 you will get killed. I am very good at
this game. For offense, all I use is Da Bomb. I pretty much use Da Bomb
for all my plays. If I don't see any of the three recievers open, then I
will run with the Quarterback. Usually if you run to the left there will be
no one there and you will get at least 15 yards. On defense, I use Deep
Zone and Middle Zone. I use Middle Zone on 1st and 2nd down. I use Deep
Zone on third down and long. If it is third down and short I usually use
Middle Zone. You should never punt if you want to win. It is a big mistake
because the returner will usually get half the yards back. Just try to go
deep. If you use this strategy I use then you will probably win all of your
games except when you are playing me.

    10. NFL 2K vs. NFL Blitz 2000
    ---------------------------------
Thinking of buying a good football game for Dreamcast. Well, right now
there is one extremely good game and one average game. NFL 2K has to be the
best football game ever. NFL Blitz 2000 isn't bad either though. I got NFL
2K on 9/9/99 and NFL Blitz 2000 on 10/23/99 and I play both of them. I
probably play NFL 2K more just because it is more fun. In this long
paragraph, I have listed what game is the better choice to buy. Hope you
enjoy it, and hope you buy at least one of these games.

    Graphics
First off, NFL 2K is a great game graphics wise. When you first walk into
the room and you see someone playing NFL 2K, you think you are watching T.V.
This game has the best graphics next to Soul Calibur. On the other case,
NFL Blitz 2000 graphics are simple. They are pretty much the same as the
Playstation version. While NFL 2K has differen't faces, jerseys with wholes
in them, dirty pants, and stuff like that, NFL Blitz 2000 has the basics.
So if you are looking for a game with good graphics, then make sure you get
    NFL 2K over NFL Blitz.

    Graphics Results:
    NFL 2K = 10
    NFL Blitz 2000 = 7

    Sound
This is a tough category. NFL 2K has really nice sounds. You can hear the
players talk, the three announcers talk, and the crowd noise. There is on
the field coverage about the weather and stuff like that. The announcers
have funny things to say, but sometimes they say the same stuff twice in a
game. Most of the time the announcers are right about the stuff. On the
other hand, NFL Blitz 2000 also has good sound. The announcers mostly say
funny stuff that never gets old. The players talk and say funny stuff also.
You can't really rate these games head to head on sound because they are a
lot different. I tried to thought.

    Sound Results
    NFL 2K = 9
    NFL Blitz 2000 - 8.5

    Gameplay
NFL 2K has to be the best all around game. The gameplay is awesome. You
have to get use to running but once you get that down the gameplay is solid.
The games are usually pretty close when you play on All Pro with 1 or 2
minute quarters. The Al is pretty good. NFL Blitz 2000 gets a bit old
after a while. The gameplay is more like WWF wrestling. All you have to do
is make sure you don't get body slammed or stuff like that. Basic running
and throwing. The games are usually scored real high. The Al is also
fairly good for NFL Blitz 2000.

    Gameplay Results
    NFL 2K = 10
    NFL Blitz 2000 = 8

    Replay Value
Both of these games have the same amount of replay value. When you have a
friend over, you will probably play NFL 2K over NFL Blitz 2000. But if you
have three friends over, then you'll probably play NFL Blitz 2000 over NFL
2K for two reasons. One, Blitz is much faster and it has a great 4 player
opition. Also, it is more of a party game then a real football game.
Overall, both of these games are going to last you a long time.

    Replay Value Results
    NFL 2K = 10
    NFL Blitz 2000 = 10

    Overall
Overall, NFL 2K beats out NFL Blitz 2000. If you only have the money to get
one football game, get NFL 2K, but if you can get both, please get both.

    Overall Results
    NFL 2K = 10
    NFL Blitz 2000 = 9
