1.1 Author's Note

Hey. This guide was written because of the lack of info for second disc of
Xenogears. It covers the final chapter, "First and Last." Also, this guide is
a very large spoiler, as it has in depth information of the story and
characters throughout this guide. Please read at your own discretion.

Also, awhile ago, after updating this guide, I had accidentally saved over a
file that had all the contributions. As a result I have lost them, and since
I deleted the mail, I have no access to it or the contributors. So, the info
that was contributed is entirely gone now. If the contributors read this,
please send your contributions back, as they are greatly wanted. Thank you.

1.2 Contact Info

My e-mail is Be forewarned though as if your
email is pointless (see below) I will delete and ignore it. No question about
it, no exceptions.

These are the messages I will answer:
:: Webmasters who want to host this guide
:: Criticism either positive or negative
  :: Contributions
  :: Corrections
:: General Talk on the Game
:: Anything I might find helpful

Not only will I not answer the following, but I'll delete them on sight and add
your email to my filter.
:: Death Threats - yes, I've gotten these before
:: Viruses and Trojans - and these too
:: SPAM - I don't care for your half assed money making schemes
  :: Chain Letters
  :: Questions already answered
:: Questions regarding how to play the game
:: Questions on how to beat a part of the game*
  :: Questions about another game
:: Question not related to something in this FAQ
  :: Anything Rude
:: An email without a subject line

* This one really annoys me. Everything I know about the Final Chapter is
right here. If it isn't here, there isn't a chance I know about it. Also
this includes e-mails about parts of the game that aren't in the chapter,
"First and Last." The reason being, is because if I were in the mood to
answer questions about the rest of the game, I would just write it into the
guide itself. So please, don't send them in, as this won't help you, nor

If I haven't covered whatever type of message you might want to send, rest
assured it's most like one that I will not answer.

Please note, I do not check my e-mail everyday, in fact I only check it weekly.
Even when I check it, it may take weeks to answer as I do have a job, school
and my own life to deal with.

2.1 Warning

This section is a blowout spoiler. This is written in the order in which the
game unfolds. It covers every little minor detail and will explain the very
intricate details of the game. Blowout spoiler.

Also, this game is extremely religious. It barely made it to the United States
for this reason. The entire storyline is revolved around religion, and certain
aspects may offend you.

For the reasons listed above, you should use your own judgement and discretion
before reading this. I take no responisbility, as I am not trying to spoil it
or offend anyone through this writing. I am simply trying to eleaborate the
storyline and explain certain elements. This story is extremely complicated
and complex, and that is my reason for writing this. If you feel you will
likely be offended, or think you would not like to hear what is contained
hereafter, your only remedy shall be to not read this.

Also, most of this information is formed through my own understanding of this
game, and other elements were influenced from "Xenogears: the Nisan Sanctuary"
<> and "Guardian Angels" <>.
Great sites if I've ever seen one. Visit it and be amazed at how thorough
people can get over Xenogears.

2.2 Prologue

"I am the Alpha and the Omega,
                      the Beginning and the End.
                         The first and last."

In the far depths of space, a ship cruises through a silent solar system. The
ship is enormous, easily the size of a moon. Within it, there is a small
society. All is apparently peaceful, but then the bridge sounds with sirens
and flashing emergency signs.

The ship is under attack, but there is no other vessel anywhere close. Finally,
the bridge figures that it's from the cargo they were carrying. They are being
attacked from the inside. Whatever it is, it radiply rips the entire ship
apart. The citizens load into escape pods and evacuate, as do the techincians
and bridge crew. Only the captain remains on board. From there, he watches
helplessly as the escape pods are being shot down by the ship's very cannons.
Whatever was destroying it, had complete control as well.

The captain, knowing it's all over, pulls a locket out. He opens in and inside
is a picture of, presumably, his wife and daughter, both with auburn colored
hair. He rests it on the control console and sits in his command chair,
awaiting his doom.

On a nearby planet, the wreckage has landed, in pieces. Nothing has survived,
but one girl. She stands and watches the ocean, as more of the ships parts
plummet down...

2.3 A War Wages On...

"The continent of Ignas lies in the Northern Hemisphere of our
world. On this, the largest continent, a war has been raging
between two countries for hundreds of years. In the north of the
continent lies the Kislev Empire, in the south lies the desert
kingdom of Aveh. The war has gone on for so long that the people
have forgotten the cause, knowing only the pointless circle of
      hostility and tragedy."

Outside the reaches of welfare, was the "Ethos." This organization basically
preserves the world's history and culture. Their influence is so great that
it is basically similar to a religion. In the past, ancient lost civilizations
were exponentially more advanced than the present. For some unknown reasons,
this civilization was lost and with it their technology. Now, the Ethos have
uncovered some relics of this civilization, _gears_, from the civilizations
ruins. Gears were basically enormous bipedal humanoid robots that are piloted
for various purposes, such as, construction and fighting.

War was immediately changed. Both countries, in hope of gaining the upper
hand, excavated from the ruins across their territory. As the fighting
continued on a newly achieved destructive scale, Kislev gained the advantage,
and placed Aveh in check. Their advatage was far to great for Aveh to match,
as Kislev had many more ruins than Aveh.

As Kislev was on the brink of destroying Aveh, a mysterious organization known
as "Geblar" contacted Aveh, and proceeded to assist them. The Geblar were near
invincible on the battlefield, and soon Aveh was on even terms with Kislev once

2.4 Tragedy at Lahan

"The remote village of Lahan, in the outskirts of Aveh,
near the border with Kislev. This is where it all begins."

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

He spent the past three years in Lahan Village, under Chief Lee's watch and
guidance, trying to recover from amnesia. He can't remember anything,
aside from his name, Fei, and the abilities of martial arts and painting.
When the mysterious Weltall comes crashing into Lahan, distant memories
trigger and eventually leads to a quest in finding himself, his past, and
  ultimately his true purpose.

Fei is actually more than one being. He's the ancestor of his former
incarnations, Kim and Lacan. In all his past lives, he has always been
attached to Elly, with whom he is always destined to love and always
destined to see her death in an attempt to save himself. Lacan, after
witnessing the death of Elly, Mother Sophia, becomes obssessed with
power, and through an imperfect contact with the Zohar Modifier, becomes
the ominous Grahf. Grahf has survived the ages through possessing the
bodies of those he has fought.

Sensing the Contact, Miang had taken over Karen. Since Khan was always
away as an agent of Shevat, he didn't notice. Miang, would constantly take
Fei to Krelian and they would run painful tests o him to determine if he
were in fact the contact. Fei couldn't take the emotional pain of his own
mother doing this to him and so it caused a disorder of multiple
personalities. He created the alterego known as Id, and would turn
conscience to Id whenever he couldn't handle the pain. Id grew on the
anger and was able to tap into the hidden powers of Fei, as he was the

Eventually, Khan figured the truth out, but by then Grahf had come to take
Fei's body as his own. Khan defended his son but was fighting a losing
battle. Fei couldn't handle it and unleashed Id. The uncontrollable power
injured both his father and Grahf. Karen was killed by the blast, and at
the sight of her death, Id went psycho. Grahf, injured critically by the
power of Id, was dying. He possessed the body of Khan and used Id's
complete loss of sanity to his advantage. Instead of taking his body, he
would make Id into his own puppet.

With Karen's death, the original personality of Fei just gave it all up.
He hid himself with the memories of his mother and left Id conscience to
his time with Grahf. While retaining all the pleasant memories, he moved
all the negative feelings into the Id personality. Grahf trained Id to
release this anger for power. Eventually, Grahf had Id attack the country
of Elru. Id very easily destroyed the country.

Although Grahf had possessed Khan, the emotion tie to his son caused forced
Khan into control of Grahf at times. Khan took control of Grahf's
conscience during the attack and confronted Fei. But, he couldn't face his
son, so he hid behind a mask. A battle ensued, and somehow he managed to
defeat and even injure Id. Knowing that the original personality of Fei
was far to fragile to handle anything negative, Khan created a third
personality of Fei, based on the orignial. This personality would replace
the original personality and remain conscience. The original personality,
called "the coward" by Id, now controlled whom would be conscience, Id or
  the new Fei.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

Fei is the main character. You have no choice to use him, a mood point
though, as he is a great character. As for a character, he's got decent
speed, very high attack, decent defense and decent magic. An all around
character. His shining point is his deathblows. Fei has access to the
two most devasting deathblows in the game, Kokei and Yamikei. Aside from
that, his Chi attacks are very varied, with the best variety in the game.
He has a healing spell, attacking spells, can increase his attack and
improve his counter rate using just spells. As a character, he is second
  only to the mighty Citan.

Also, Fei has the hands down best gears. In the beginning, the gears
don't have too much of an advantage over each other, but Fei's is pretty
apparent. Weltall has great parts, which means high HP. It too is like
Fei, as it has good attack, and all other stats are decent to above
average. Fei really shines when Balthasar upgrades in to Weltall 2.
Many people consider this the best gear in the game, simply because it
can go into Infinity Mode at will. At will. Just choose the option, and
Fei will unleash the unnatural force that is Id on the the suckers. If
you EVER lose using the Weltall 2, you sincerely suck =]. When Fei makes
contact with the Zohar Modifier, his entire gear becomes omni. Looks
completely different, but no other gear will ever compare to it in terms
of raw power. Most attacks will do the max amount of damage. Although
you lose System Id, automatic Infinity, I don't see much of a problem.
After three turns, the next turn, Fei always has a 99.6% chance of getting
Infinite Mode, and you will then have access to KISHIN.

The bottom maximizes his fighting ability. Speed Shoes make Xenogears

completely obliterate opponents. Holy Pendant is nice. It's so easy to
reach infinite, it's put to good use.

Citan Uzuki is the doctor of Lahan Village. He's a genious and loves to
make new inventions. He is an understanding person, and very friendly to
Fei. He constantly acts as a mediator, as he has the ability to always
remain calm under the most insane times. He also seems to know much more
than he's willing to admit. His past is shrouded by mystery, although
unlike Fei, Citan knows his past, he's just not willing to explain it...

Citan's real name is Hyuga Ricdeau. Born a low class worker in Solaris,
a plague swept through his family and killed them all when he was young.
Through his intelligence and fighting skills he was entered into Jugend,
were he rose in ranks. Eventually he became friends with Sigurd, and both
were being sponsored by Jessie Black.

They later followed Ramsus because of his ideals and influence. During
this time, along with Sigurd, the two find out the secrets of Solaris.
Sigurd escapes to the land, but Citan remains. His deadly skills with a
katana were magnificent. Eventually, he took the position of Cain's right
hand man, a guardian angel. With this position, he recieved a direct link
to Cain (telepathy). He was send on an invasion to Shevat, were he was
confronted and defeated by a woman named Yui.

Instead of being killed in battle, Yui released him, yet he stayed behind.
They eventually fell in love and were married. As a vow to her, he put
away his blade and swore to never use it again. He would later break this
promise, on Yui's request. The two had a child, and due to his telepathic
link with Cain, their daughter Midori had an innate ability to read minds.

Eventually news of the Contact reached Cain and he send Citan to keep track
of Fei. And during this time, he seemlingly befriends Fei and the rest of
the gang, but later betrays them. In the end though, he was always out to
help his friends, and his loyalty proves it through the end.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

From the very beginning of the game, it's quite obvious how strong Citan
is. He starts out with speed and HP greatly higher than Fei's. His
attack doesn't really compare to Fei's but with his speed, he learns new
Deathblows like nobody's business. Quite impressive. Later into the game,
he becomes a Demi-God. Not literally, but when he takes hold of his katana
once again, he is invincible. When he gets this, he will have the highest
HP, highest attack, and highest speed. Not only that, the difference in
stats isn't small, it's VERY noticable. Factor in his spells (very potent
if used right), and you've got a strong diverse character. Give him the
Power Crisis, and have him at 1 HP. You will meet power beyond
comprehension. He WILL TAKE OUT gear sized enemies, like Dragons and
  Griffons, ON HIS OWN.

Many people deem four of his spells crap, the Fuiseii, the Chiseii, the
Suiseii, and the Kaseii. Well, here's how to use them. First, cast Renki.
Now use one of the above prescribed spells on all the enemies. Now, use
the opposite element deathblow and watch those numbers crank. (NOTE: I am
writing this from memory, and I'm not sure if it's supposed to work like
this. I forget if it works exactly like stated above.)

Citan isn't really that great in a gear. Heimdal is seriously lacking in
the parts category. It doesn't have anything especially great about it.
Not worth it at all. Once Fenrir comes, it changes, though not too
greatly much. If you get the Kijin Sword, then you can probably pump up
his gear to have high output, but he has horrible chances of accessing
Hyper Mode. Citan is the best human character, and decent gear, Fenrir
  anyway, Hiemdal just sucks.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

As for below, it capitalizes on the power of the Kijin Sword. Since Hyper
Mode is difficult to reach, I figure you should just use Deathblows.
Although, I've found it much more helpful to not use Fenrir altogether.
Use Citan. Drive his Attack and you're set. He won't get attacked, cause
you have gears on the screen, and he can go about using the Power Crisis.

BIRTHPLACE : Bledavik, Aveh WEIGHT : 158 lbs.

FIGHTING STYLE : Specialty in Dual Whip Style

The suave desert pirate who has royal blood in his veins. He is currently
stealing gears, and rallying support for his cause. His father, King
Edbert of Aveh, was assasinated by Shakhan, who overthrew the empire and
took it into his own hands. Now Bart wants revenge.

Bart is the decendent of Roni Fatima, a comrade and friend of both Krelian,
and Lacan, Fei's former incarnation and Grahf. Roni was the founder of
both Aveh and Kislev. Bart resembles Roni right down to the looks,
personality, cockiness mainly (imagine if these two could meet each other),
and fighting skills. Roni was the original pilot of Bart's Omnigear,

Also, Bart's cousin is the Great Mother of the Nisan sect, Margie. Sophia,
Elly of Lacan's time, was the original Great Mother of Nisan. He also has
an older half brother, none other than Sigurd. Sigurd had kept this a
secret from even Bart, until Maison told him, as he was the illegitimate
  son of King Edbart.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

Bart has some strong points and some bad points. On whole, he can be
considered an average character. Decent stats all around. He is kind of
slow though, and can't keep up later on in the game. He does have a
saving grace though. Bart has the second best set up Ether abilities IMO.
The best by far is his first, Wild Smile. Lowers the enemy accuracy and
evasion. Very effective. Also, he can increase his attack power,
increase his evade and add elements to his attacks.

In Gear form, Bart sucks. His gear has no very defying use, as it's
slower than most, inaccurate, and the omnigear, Andravi rarely sees Hyper
Mode. Still this gear too has a saving grace... and it's the same one
Bart has. Wild Smile. This thing works in gear form too, and it's even
more potent. Lowering evasion is very effective in making his attacks hit
and thus freeing him of a few restrictions.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

The below is different as far as gear equips go. Bart doesn't get Hyper
too often, and his attacks aren't that great to begin with. But he should
be played like support using Wild Smile. Just keep using Wild Smile. If
you get the chance, just pound people repeatedly. He'll run out of fuel
fast, but he'll have the Z Charger. GRNS50 plus high output, low fuel
  engine makes a powerhouse.

AGE : 30 HEIGHT : 7'
BIRTHPLACE : Kislev WEIGHT : 352 lbs.

FIGHTING STYLE : Wrestling

  Father - Kaiser Sigmund

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

Rico is a demi human. A castoff. He has spent his years in the prison
of Kislev. Since he is the battling champ, he has had the chance to leave
at anytime. He chose to stay in the prison and ultimately became the head
  of the pecking order.

In truth, Rico is none other than the son of the Kaiser, whom hates him.
Neither Rico or the Kaiser himself new, as his wife left him when she was
pregnent with Rico. Although, Hammer knew all along. Rico himself was
suspisious when he found a momento chain which belonged to his mother in
the room of the Kaiser's wife. Hammer confirmed these suspisions when he
saw his friend Hammer die in a battle against him.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

At first glance, Rico was amazing in the beginning when Fei had to fight
him in an unwinnable match. Too bad people are never has good when they
join your party. He still is good, but too slow. Many people get twice
the amount of turns he gets, and some like Citan can manage three or four.
If you can get over his crap speed, he is actually pretty good. Extremely
strong. The only problem is that, he constantly gets killed. This is
remedied somewhat against some enemies who only use either Ether or
Physical attacks as Rico has a spell that increases Defense, and another
that increases ether defense. IMO, don't bring him anywhere you need to
  fight w/ regular characters.

In gear form, however, we find out why Rico's the battling champ. Stier is
a great gear. Taking traits from Rico, amazing strength and low speed,
Stier obliterates enemies. His speed handicap is a mood point when you
consider the effects of Booster. When El Stier comes along, Rico really
shines. El Stier can attain Hyper Mode extremely easily. With Hyper Mode
and high attack, you won't be worrying about any tough opponents.
Basically the opposite of Citan. Great Gear form, bad human form.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

The below set up helps out Rico tremendously catch up in speed to the
others when fighting on foot. Also, it keeps him from taking too much
damage from Ether attacks. As for the gear, it is made to get infinity and
keep it. The GRNS50's help boost his power greatly.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

Billy Lee Black is a young Etone. Etones are priests under the Ethos whom
are charged of the duty of ridding the world of Wels and spreading the word
  of God.

When Billy was young, his father, Jessie, mysteriously left his wife, son
and young daughter. He didn't return for years, and Billy grew up without
a father. Later on, Wels attacked his home, where he lost his mother. He
very well near fell to the Wels himself, when Bishop Stone, head of the
Ethos, saved his life, and his sister's. After this incident, Primera lost
the ability to speak, and Stone took the children under hs care. Billy
admired Stone, and later became an Etone. Using the skills his father
taught him, he would follow his newfound faith.

Eventually, his father returned, urging him to leave the Ethos. He was
discusted by his own father and detested his very existance. Jessie had
nothing to say about his disappearance, did not return when they lost their
mother and now he would go against Billy's faith, the faith that saved his

From the time he lost his mother, his faith had to become his guardian.
Now that very faith he lead his life for will be questioned. What he does
not know will hurt him. What he can not believe may destroy him. And what
he uncovers will lead him to question his worth, as an Etone, and more
  importantly, as a human.

The Ethos, in truth, was not some religion created to help people. It was
not made to guide people to the path of god. It was not created for the
light of truth and good. It was created for the works of darkness that the
world can not possibly comprehend. The Ethos was a front created by
Solaris, to control all life on the land. And Billy worked for them and
carried out their every bidding without even suspecting anything.

In reality, the Wels the Ethos destroyed were the creations of Solaris.
Wels were humans mutated, to be parts of Deus. He wasn't killing monsters.
He was killing humans that were victims. When his father urged him to quit
the Ethos, Billy had no idea why. Now he knew. The missions he uknowingly
carried out in the name of truth and faith, were nothing more than cold
  blooded murder.

His father knew, because his father had worked for Solaris. Jessie was
trained in Jugend, were he sponsored both Citan and Sigurd. Jessie was
a very powerful man, or used to be. He was next in line to lead Solaris.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

Billy is one of the best characters. Attack wise, he is very potent with
the right elemental ammo. His shining point, though, is his spells.
Hands down, without a shadow of a doubt, the best ether abilities you will
find in all of Xenogears. A full party healing spell, a reviving spell, a
spell to make people go faster. Billy has it all.

Renmanzuo is awesome. Spec wise, he isn't very amazing, but he does have
two very powerful assets. The Jessie Blasta, and his Square attack. His
square attack is an ether attack, and matched with Power Magics, it is
extremely lethal. Extremely. The Jessie Blasta takes quite a lot of Fuel,
but some times it is worth it.

The below just focuses on using the Square Attack. With the Power Magics,

Grandfather - Ol' Man Bal (Balthasar)

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

The innocent little girl that pilots a powerful gear. She was born
originally in Shevat, but was kidnapped, or captured along with her father
by Solaris. Solaris forced him to create a Gear that was immensly
powerful. He created Seibzhen, based on Balthasar's Calamity. When he
finished it, he helped Maria escape in it to Shevat.

Maria, though at a young age, is still able to control such a powerful gear
because of her father. Nikolai built Seibzhen for the express purpose of
Maria. He engineered it to obey her thoughts, thus making it so that she
doesn't need to have any training, ect. to become a powerful ally, and the
  defender of Shevat.

While Nikolai was creating Seibzhen, he was also forced to create a sister
gear, Achtzhen. Krelian killed Nikolai and programmed his personality into
it. But Krelian also added a feature so that Nikolai would do his bidding.

Krelian sent Achtzhen and a strike force out to attack Shevat. Maria would
have to fight it. During the battle, she was forced to fight what remained
of her father. In the end, she won the battle, and for a brief moment,
Nikolai was himself again, long enough to give his daughter some final
words before his life ended permanently.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

I've seen so many people say crap about how she is a crappy character.
Lies. One word, "Controls." This will bring Seibzhen into the fight
and attack the enemy. Very powerful. Very. That's all you have to
  do with her, Controls.

In Seibzhen, though, she will crush all that apose her. Seibzhen has
amazing attacking power. And it can be done with little fuel.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

This set up is based on a very simple strategy. Since Seibzhen misses
a lot of Square and X attacks, you should start off by using the
Triangle attack. Then use the Deathblower. Since Maria only has 1000
fuel this way, she needs to spend her fuel wisely. In this way, you
only waste 20 fuel for two attacks, and with the OMEGA engine and
GRNS50's, you get a powerful gear.

BIRTHPLACE : Zeboim WEIGHT : ???

FIGHTING STYLE : Morphing Nanomachines

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

Emeralda is a four thousand year old nanomachine colony, created in the
Zeboim era. In that time, genetic damage had shortened lifespans, and some
people were unable to reproduce. During this time, lived Kim and, as
always, Elly. With his nanotechnology, Kim took his DNA, along with Elly's
  and created Emeralda.

Someone attacked Kim's lab and in the process, killed both Kim and Elly.
Kim managed to secure Emeralda in a criogentic hyper sleep.

Eventually, Fei's friends unlocked her, only to be taken away by Bishop
Stone and handed over to Krelian. When Fei's friends next met her, she was
brainwashed and attacked them. In the end she came to and joined them,
  remembering Kim.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

Emeralda is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the better characters.
She has the best of Fei and Elly, plus some extra bonuses. Her strength is
not quite on par with Fei's, but she sin't too shabby, especially not with
her Dark Beast Deathblow. As for magic, she's way better than Elly. She
has the power, with no penalty. None. She will annihilate people. Add in
her speed, and you have the best of several characters.

As a gears, she's even better. The fastest gear in the game. No doubt
about it. Let's not forget the dolls. So useful isn't not even funny.
Then we come to the infinities. She can access infinite mode on equal
terms to Xenogears. Consider the fact that she's so much faster,
Emeralda will probably be more useful. Add in the choice of using the
powerful spells. She arguably the best gear. There is only one
downside, her low HP, but she can probably kill fast enough that it
  doesn't matter.

The character form is for fighting with her spells. This set up is based
around infinite mode. Pretty straightforward and simple. Since her gear
is already so strong, she doesn't need the Speed Shoes.

Chu Chu started out as Margie's pet. Every thought she was just a cute
animal, but later, things change. When the Achtzhen gear attack Shevat,
and all the gears are unable to function, puny Chu Chu steps up to the
plate. Growing in size, she immediately matches that of her opponent's.

Chu Chu is part of a near extinct race that roamed the Earth years ages
before Deus crashed into it. They took the form of the massive giant
Chu Chu transformed into. Through the help of Wiseman, most of them have
found a safe home on Shevat, but what is their true nature...

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

An interesting character. Chu Chu has no gear, instead, she uses her own
body and grows. This means she needs no parts and instead her stats are
based on the form that's small. This usually cripples Chu Chu. She can't
really compare to a gear. But if you feel like wasting your life, she can
be the strongest character there is.

Since her gear strength are based on her stats, you could simply pump up
her stats to be good. To do this just keep buying drives from Big Joe.
First pump up her HP. I've only managed 45,000 but I've heard of higher.
If you bother pumping up her Magic, she will be very good. Her healing
spells actually heal gear HP. The fact that her EP is easily restored is
  an added bonus as well.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

This set up is for the above stated Chu Chu. It should be pumped up so
that it can take hits, and then have enough magic to heal for absurd

 4444 ----------------------------[ RANKINGS ]-----------------------------
    4 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

4.1 Characters

Elly is withheld from this rankings because you don't really get to use her in
the Final Chapter and as for Chu Chu, she's a wild card as she could be the
best or the worse.

[1] Citan
[2] Fei
[3] Billy
[4] Emeralda
[5] Maria
[6] Bart
[7] Rico

[1] Citan
This shouldn't be a surprise at all. Power Crisis on Citan means people
die. He's got Speed, HP, Attack, and some decent spells. Hell, he's even
got a healing spell. In fact, I think he's better on foot against enemies
than in gear form. He's the best, nothing compares.

[2] Fei
Fei has a very nice balance. The most balanced character in the game,
actually. Great spells, and good stats. His shining point is his two
  extra deathblows. Absurd damage.

[3] Billy
Billy can't quite edge out Fei, but comes pretty close. He's got the best
set of ether abilities I've ever seen, which ranks him pretty high. With
the right ammo against the right enemy, and he'll annihilate. The reason
why Fei beat him was because Fei is more balanced, since Billy is really
only a good support character with his spells.

[4] Maria
Controls are outrageously strong. The only reason I don't have her ahead
of Fei is because the need for a Economether is high. If not, she's not
  that good.

[5] Emeralda
She comes in fifth because she has good offense. She's pretty fast, and
has some very good magic, but can't really compare to Maria's Controls.

[6] Bart
He comes in second worse because the pirate can't hold a decent candle to
the others. He's slow, not as powerful as the others, and misses too
much. He's only useful for support with Wild Smile, but Billy can be a
  support better any day.

[7] Rico
He comes in last, because of the utter and complete lack of speed. So
slow. He may have power, but by the time he attacks many people could
get several hits in. If he even attacks.

4.2 Gears

Elly is withheld from this rankings because you don't really get to use her in
the Final Chapter and as for Chu Chu, she's a wild card as she could be the
best or the worse.

[1] Xenogears
[2] Cresens
[3] El Stier
[4] Seibzhen
[5] El Renmanzuo
[6] Fenrir
[7] Andravi

[1] Xenogears
Xenogears. The best gear. It's got above average speed, with extremy
attack. Great balance of Defense and attack. Factor in the ability to
get Infinites, and you've got an unstoppable force.

[2] Cresens
The fastest gear in the game. She can use powerful magic, or extreme
infinites. She can played so many ways. The dolls make her powerful as
hell. The only reason Xenogears beats her out is the fact that it has a
naturally stronger attack, and it doesn't suffer from horrible Defense
  and HP.

[3] El Stier
Power. Raw Power. El Stier can hit infinites nearly as well as Cresens.
The speed is compromised by power, which is a pretty good tradeoff in
  this case.

[4] Seibzhen
Basically like El Stier, but El Stier is slightly more accurate and can
hit infinites. Seibzhen needs the insane engine which severely handicaps
it. Still, the raw power is very important.

[5] El Renmanzuo
Matches Seibzhen pretty well. The reason it lost out is because some
enemies will absorb Ether Attacks. If not, it can be a devastating gear.

[6] Fenrir
Not that great compared to the others, because Fenrir has no main sticking
point. It's strong, but that's not a good point as other gears are strong
too. Still not a bad member.

[7] Bart
Just sucks. I'm sorry, he's a cool character, but he wastes fuel on par
with Xenogears ability to get Infinite. Also, it's not specifically
powerful, and doesn't work as a damage soaker. The only good points are
Wild Smile, which doesn't really matter since you could kill enemies with
the other gears, and Yggdrasil Drop, which will kill Bart's fuel. Andravi
basically needs a Z Charger, which will annihilate it's speed.

4.3 Overall

Elly is withheld from this rankings because you don't really get to use her in
the Final Chapter and as for Chu Chu, she's a wild card as she could be the
best or the worse.

[1] Fei and Xenogears
[2] Emeralda and Cresens
[3] Billy and El Renmanzuo
[4] Rico and El Stier
[5] Citan and Fenrir
[6] Maria and Seibzhen
[7] Bart and Andravi

[1] Fei and Xenogears
Both of them are great. They deserve this above anyone.

[2] Emeralda and Cresens
Emeralda is a decent character, but I based this more on gears with a minor
bit of character influence. Her gear can go head to head with Xenogears.
Also, she isn't a horrible character.

[3] Billy and El Renmanzuo
Both are decent. Billy is the best support character, and Renmanzuo is
lethal if you use it right.

[4] Rico and El Stier
The reason it lost out to Billy and Renmanzuo is because Rico just throws
this balance off a huge proportion. El Stier is great, but Rico can't do
jack. Seiriously. El Renmanzuo can't quite beat El Stier, but it can
  compare somewhat.

[5] Citan and Fenrir
Citan owns, but that doesn't help Fenrir any. Fenrir suffers from the fact
that the only use for him is power, and other gears can fit the bill better.

[6] Maria and Seibzhen
The reason Citan beat her out is because she needs Economether in human
form to even be able to stand. Then when Seibzhen is up, he needs the
psycho engine, and doesn't last long in long dungeons.

[4] Bart and Andravi
Bottom of the barrel. Bart loses worth very early in the game. I've
  already explained why.

    5 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

5.1 Snowfield Hideout

Items Found Here Enemies Found Here
    Hercules Ring x2 (none)
    Vivid Turban
    Emeralda Doll
    Wizardry Ring
    Hero Costume
    Speed Shoes
    Kijin Sword
    Yamato Belt
    Mermaid Ring

First, go to the room behind the counter. You will meet Hans and he will tell
you about the Thames and his new family. After you think the Captain of the
Thames met his fate, he comes in and says

"We are... men... of the sea!"

Classic. He then tells Hans about a sword at Duneman's Island. You can play
the girl next to Hans' wife and if you win, she hands over the Emeralda Doll.

Now, talk to what looks like a waiter and he'll sell you birds for an absurd
amount of money. Buy them and they fly away. This leaves the stepping stone
unoccupied and you can access the room above. Check everything that looks
like a table and you come out with a pair of Speed Shoes, a Hercules Ring, a
Yamato Ring, a Wizardry Ring, a Vivid Turban, and a Hero Costume.

Next, upgrade your gears at the Gear Shop. Upgrade the Engines to X70-2000.
Upgrade all your Frames except Seibzhen and El Stier's Frames. Go to the room
behind the Gear Shop and before approaching the lone man, unequip the Kishin
Sword from Fenrir. Talk to him and he will make the Kijin Sword.

Now go to a room that leads to a snowy corridor. Go to the North room. In
here you will find Midori and Dan. Talk to Dan to get a scene in which he
finally forgives Fei. If you had the Midori Ring, Midori would give you a
Hercules Ring for it. Now you have two.

Walk out and go to the floor above by way of the plank. You will talk to Queen
Zephyr and you then see a scene with Ramsus. Too bad he didn't really join
you. I'd love to use Kahr and the Vendetta.

If you meet another man, he will take the Mermaid Tear from the beginning of
the game and create the Mermaid Ring. It's a great accessory for Emeralda.
There is also a man in a small tunnel. He will dig up the Jukebox from earlier
in the game if you pay him a Gold Nugget then a Gold Bullion.

Head outside, and board the Yggdrasil IV. Go to the gear hanger and talk to
Chu Chu. If you don't talk to her, you will not be able to use her anymore.

5.2 Tora's House

Items Found Here Enemies Found Here
    Manly Mantle
    Goddess Robe

Fly to the East Side of the map. There is a house in a forest to the North of
the Anima Relic Dungeon 1. Go into the house and find Tora in the back of the
house. He will provide you with the Manly Mantle and the Goddess Robe.

You're not done yet. Make sure you have the Trader's Card equiped, and go
roaming in the forest. If you happen to fight the White Snail, you will get
another pair of Speed Shoes. The enemies are weak here, so I suggest you equip
your Wizardry Rings too and fight until you have gotten enough Speed Shoes for
everyone. They are equiped on the character and give them twice their speed.
It also carries over into Gear Battles. It automatically puts you into Booster
Mode and it takes no fuel. They are unbelievably useful.

5.3 Duneman's Island

Items Found Here Enemies Found Here
    Kingly Armor Dragon
    Godfather Sandmen
    Yamato Sword Worm

First of all, make sure you either have Fei's Yamikei or Kokei, and/or Citan
with X/X attack and the Power Crisis equipped. If you have Citan, make sure he
has low HP. For all your characters, have a pair of Speed Shoes equipped.

Head East of Bart's Hideout and you'll see an island with three small grass
patches and a couple of weird looking towers. Land in the green. You can now
enter Duneman's Island. BTW, you can't use your gears inside.

Upon arrival, you will meet a couple of Sandman who are easily defeated. Go
East four screens and you will arrive at a open desert (yay). Now after
heading North two screens, you will see fish swimming in the sand. Ignore them
for now and go up North one more time. You will see a giant skeleton of a
monster. Go to its left side and jump onto its back. Pull the Sword out and
give it to Citan. As soon as the sword is yanked, the skeleton collapses, you
will be able to fight Dragons.

Now go to the previous screen and head East toward the fishes. You will end up
in a place where the sand controls how you move. There are two treasure
chests, one with a Kingly Armor and the other with a God-Father. It's pretty
hard to navigate, but try to jump from one piece of land to anoher to avoid
being swept into the current. After grabbing one chest, you will be sucked
down and fight a Worm that Weltall fought against at the beginning. Use a
Guided Shot or other weak Ether Attack. It's so weak, a single Guided Shot
will eliminate it. From now on, Worms will appear randomly at Duneman's
Island. Now go back to the same place and grab the other chest.

Now that you have gotten those items, it's time for the best human equips
in the game. Wander around until you come across a Dragon. It only does one
attack, Dragon Breath, which hits for about 600 HPs to everyone. It does this
normally, and will do it quite often at critical. Don't worry though, he is
extremely slow, especially with Speed Shoes on. Whatever you do, don't use
elemental attacks. Whenever he appears, he will have a random element and it's
not worth it to take the time to figure it out. Use the following attacks with
each character:

Fei: Yamikei (X, Triangle, X) or Kokei (Square, Square, X)
Citan: Myogetsu (X, X)
Bart: Justice (X, X)
Billy: Dear Friend (Square, Trianle, Square, X)
Rico: Spin Strike (X, X)
Maria: Robo Kick (Controls) or Gravitation Gun (Controls)
Emeralda: Reycount (Trianlge, Triangle, Square, X)
Chu-Chu: Ancient Myth (Ether)

The Dragon gives quite a lot of a lot of experience, about 30,000 to each
character, and has about 20,000 HP. Citan w/ the Power Crisis and Fei w/ Kokei
or Yamikei can each do about 5,000 each turn, and you usually get three or four
turns before the Dragon when you have Speed Shoes equiped, so don't worry.
I've defeated him by using Citan as the only attacker, so it should be pretty
easy for you.

The Dragon gives no money, but if you have the Trader's Card equipped,
then you can make him drop one of five items.

   Mumyo Sword (Citan's best sword)
   Death Adder (Bart's best whip)
Kaiser Helm (the best male helemt)
   Blessed Helm (best female helm)
Blessed Habit (a decent female armor)

They all sell for quite a bit. I have found that the Mumyo Sword takes the
longest to get. I've gotten eight Death Adders to one Mumyo Sword.

Now that you are done, head back to the entrance and you will have a sand man
shout at you asking for help. Help him by pushing the truck, and he will offer
you a ride. Take it. If you ever come back, you can just leave seeing as he
is no longer there.

5.4 Lighthouse

Items Found Here Enemies Found Here
    Deathblower 1 Griffon
    Deathblower 2 Dragon
    Deathblower 3 Hammerhead
    Z Charger Croaker
    G-Godfather Shellby
    Survival Tent Raptor

This is located on a penninsula to the Northeast of the center of the central
continent. Fly low and you will come across it. Before you go in, you need to
know about the enemies.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

First off, there is the Dragon that you fought on Duneman's Island, though they
don't drop rare items here. You can fight him in your gears and only one will
appear in each battle. I haven't seen them use Dragon Breath when fighting
gears. They just try and wack the gears, and if you're upgraded enough, they
won't do any damage. Since you'll be fighting a lot in here, use this time to
try and reach infinite and then charge your fuel, and heal with Frame HPs if

Next are the Croaker Tribe that come in the traditional group of six. Since
you are in Gears, they pose no problem. Again, you can use this time to charge
fuel and heal with Frame HP, after killing all but one.

There are also raptor like enemies that are as simple as the Croaker. They
come in packs of four. Same as the Croaker.

Then come the Hammerheads. They hit for about 870 every turn to your gears.
They appear in groups of 6. Kill these fast. With six of them hitting near a
thousand, they'll damage you fast.

Another enemy is the Shellby. These come in groups of three. Kill them as
fast as you can, as they have an attack that halves HP. If you brought in a
bunch of slow gears, then you had better hope you run into a group of croakers

The last enemies that might fight you in the Lighthouse are the Griffons.
They appear in groups of two and can deal 3,000 to 4,000 HP. On top of that,
they are faster than Emeralda's Gear. They take about one or two hits to down.
They can dodge pretty well.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

Now select your party. Make sure you take Emeralda. The rest of the party
doesn't matter. I'll suggest Fenrir as that is who I used. Head inside and
take the Elevator. You will be in the remains of a civilization that existed
4,000 years ago (it is actually our era, since this game takes place around
6,000 A.D. supposedly).

As you roam the place, Fei will say "We can go further on foot" every time you
see a door (yellow light). Get off your gears and go inside. Go around to the
buildings and collect all the treasures. Treasures are also on the street. In
one building is Big Joe. He is surrounded by four chests that keep reappearing.
Talk to him to buy the best Frames for Seibzhen and El Stier. He has a few
Engines that have high output but low fuel. His Armors are the best. He sells
three. Buy the Z Alloy 80/30. The others give up to 1000 AR, but you should
get the Z Alloy 80/30 on everyone, as it gives 800 AR and 300 Ether AR (it says
30, but trust me). This takes care of all you AR and Ether AR needs so you
don't have to equip crap stuff like Ether AR + 3. Another thing that Joe
offers are two very useful equips. One is the Power Magic. Great for El
Renmanzuo and Cresens. The other is the famous GNRS50.

The door opposite Joe's shop leads to the G-God Father. Just keep walking and
you'll automatially pick it up. A newstand like store has access to many info
sources. One of which is about Big Joe.

Now head toward the parking lot. You will come across a sewer opening, and Fei
will say that you can go in. Do so. Follow the path. The train has a hidden
Z Charger. Make sure Emeralda is with you. After awhile, you will see a scene
with Kim and Elly. Emeralda will become an adult and she grows stronger.

Now that you're done with the Lighthouse, go to Lahan. You can't enter Lahan,
but you can go to the Mountain Path. Go to Citan's house and into the shack in
the back. If you have Adult Emeralda with you, you will be able to read a
message on the left side of the broken Juke Box.

6.1 Levels

In this chapter, level don't really make a difference. Gears own. There are
only two reasons for levels at this point, Chu Chu and just for the hell of it.
Make sure you use Hercules' Rings though.

            *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

The place I like to go to is Duneman's Island. The dragons are great exp., and
they drop items to sell. The only downside to this is that Dragons don't
always appear, and random battles aren't a plenty.

Another nice place is the snow area outside of crashed Shevat. You fight for
exp., and money. The enemies also drop Gold stuff that can sell for money.
The fact hat you can use gears here also helps out.

The most exp gained in one battle is actually in Deus. The Power Seraphs give
50,000 exp. each. The only reason why this place sucks is because it's hard to
exit, and Power Seraphs don't appear too often. Rarely at best.

Also, the Lighthouse isn't bad at all.

6.2 Deathblows

To develop Deathblows, make sure you equip Wizardry Rings. When fighting, use
the deathblow combination for the Deathblow ahead of the one you're missing.
This way, you get them both around the same time, and you'll be developing two
at a time instead of one.

    7 ----------------------[ MISCELLANEOUS HINTS ]------------------------
   7  =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

7.1 Easy Money

The best way to earn money is to go to the second Anima Relic Dungeon. Fight
the enemies. Make sure you have the Trader's Card. If you fight the
Tusk-Tusks, they will drop two Ivory's, since they come in pairs. If you fight
the six Croakers, you have it good. They drop six Scales. I suggest you bring
Emeralda so that she can use Thermo Geist to clear out the Croakers fast. Sell
them at Kislev. This is the fastest money making tactic since six Scales are
worth quite a lot.

The second best place for money is the Lighthouse. You fight the Croakers here
too. You also fight Hammerheads that drop Eyeballs each. Also, Big Joe is
suurounded by four treasure chests. Everytime you enter the building, they are
refreshed. Most of the time they will be littered with worthless items, but on
occassion, you'll get a Matchlock gun for Billy. This sells for 6,000 G. Not
too shabby.

If you want to learn deathblows while making money, go to the first Anima Relic
and wonder the halls. You will fight small robot guards that each drop a Cast
AR that can sell for 2000 a piece. They come in groups of two or three. The
things that eat you if you use a deathblow drops an Evasion Ring that sells for
1500. You can learn your deathblows like this. You need the Trader's Card.

If you want to gain levels while making money, go to Duneman's Island.
Fighting the Dragons will get you some experience and it drops items that sell
for a lot.

7.2 Chu Chu Power Up

Earlier, I said something about Chu Chu being the best character if developed

"Since her gear strength are based on her stats, you could simply pump up
her stats to be good. To do this just keep buying drives from Big Joe.
First pump up her HP. I've only managed 45,000 but I've heard of higher.
If you bother pumping up her Magic, she will be very good. Her healing
spells actually heal gear HP. The fact that her EP is easily restored is
  an added bonus as well."

You can get infinite Drives. But it'll cost you, literally. Big Joe sells
these for absurd amounts of money. This can be remedied with a lot of time and
the above section. Trust me, it takes a lot of time.

The first thing to drive is Chu Chu's HP. Get it around 35,000 for HP, and you
should be fine. Then pump up Chu Chu's magic. Make sure you can heal the
gears for a lot with the Ether Doubler Equipped. After that, just alternate
between HP and Magic. Defense shouldn't be a problem because you can heal Chu
Chu a number of ways in battle.

7.3 Notable Stuff

The Holy Pendant seems to be somewhat of a crap item on a character. Which it
is. The thing is, though, when you equip it and go in a gear, it'll double the
time. Six turns of infinity is very powerful. Just remember, this doesn't
count for Weltall 2's System Id.
