    LEGEND OF MANA ABILITY FAQ

    This is an unofficial ability FAQ for Legend of Mana, a new Mana series RPG by 
    Squaresoft. When I first start playing LoM, I'm looking for any FAQ that may 
    exist in www.gamefaqs.com. Finding none unseful enough, I decided to create an 
    ability FAQ, which contained all ability I had acquired now, hoping that my 
    translation could be useful for other gamers that couldn't read Japanese. I was 
    hoping too, that someone could continue my FAQ, for I don't have much time to 
    compile a full FAQ. Please email me, or at least give me a proper credit when 
    you do that.
    
    Anyway, the ability exist in LoM is set in O or X button. You will gain new 
    ability whenever your level is up to certain point (I guess), and you will 
    gained waza when you use the proper weapon, and proper ability combination. 
    (waza is Japanese translation for Move or Arts)
    
    ABILITY
    
    1. Jump		: Jump (lol)
    2. Guard		: Defense against most attack.
    3. Dash		: Dash forward
    4. Backdash	: Dash backward
    5. Squat		: Squat down, and increasing your HP faster. You're vurnerable 
    during this move.
    6. Push		: Push your opp. back (one opp. only)
    7. Upper (Abi-ru)	: Does some 'kata' then resume in some vulnerable position, I 
    find this move unusable, and some time makes 		  myself lose much HP.
    8. Spin		: Spin around, getting nearby opp. dizzy. Dizzy time are 
    different for each enemy, and you may get dizzy 		  after three 
    consecutive spin.
    9. Roll		: Roll forward, ducks all attack (I guess)
    10. High Jump	: Jump high :)
    11. Counter	: Take guard position, then when attacked make a counter move.. does 
    good damage.
    12. Jolt		: Take guard position, then you may press that button again 
    when opp. is nearby, it will does great damage 		  (this is my personal 
    fave)
    13. Guard Dash	: Guard while dashing.
    14. Sliding	: Sliding Tackle, opponent will fall down when hit.
    15. Two-time Jump	: Jump normally, but when pressed again you can jump higher 
    (just like Thief in ADnD Shadow over 		  Mystara series)
    
    
    WAZA
    Assigned only on shoulder button
    Can only be performed if your Waza meter is flashing (the cyan one)
    
    Long Sword Techniques
    
    1. ??Sword Attack 1??	(Middle Range Hit)	One Opp.
    	Slashing forward, then does great amount of damage when hit.
    2. ??Sword Attack 2??	(Middle Range Hit)	One Opp.
    	Jump forward, then slashing down for great amount of damage.
    3. Vortex			(Spinning Attack)	Opp. Nearby
    	Spinning around, creating a vortex that damage all opp. nearby.
    4. Double Handed		(Short Range Hit)	Opp. Slashed
    	Slashing Downward, then does slashing uppercut when hit. (another personal 
    fave)
    5. Orbiting Dagger		(Special Attack)	Opp. Slashed
    	You get 8 dagger spinning around you, then charging forward with those 
    dagger attacking your opp. Get def.up every 	time you use this. Cool move 
    anyway.
    6. Dynamite X		(Middle Range Hit)	One Opp.
    	Jump forward, then slashing the opp. with a big X mark. Opp. slashed would 
    get a big explosion and heavy damage.
    
    Dagger Techniques
    
    1. Double Handed		(Short Range Hit)	Opp. Slashed
    	Slashing Downward, then does slashing uppercut when hit. (another personal 
    fave)
    2. Orbiting Dagger		(Special Attack)	Opp. Slashed
    	You get 8 dagger spinning around you, then charging forward with those 
    dagger attacking your opp. Get def.up every 	time you use this. Cool move 
    anyway.
    3. Dynamite X		(Middle Range Hit)	One Opp.
    	Jump forward, then slashing the opp. with a big X mark. Opp. slashed would 
    get a big explosion and heavy damage.
    
    Rod (Staff) Techniques
    
    1. ???			(Middle Range Hit)	One Opp.
    	Charge forward, that's simple only.
    2. ???			(Spinning Attack)	Opp. Nearby
    	Jump up, then throwing the staff forward, creating a black hole which 
    damage all opp. near the blackhole. Get mgc 	down each time you use this.
    3. ???			(Special Attack)	Opp. Nearby/All Opp.
    	Spin upward, then came down again with tons of rocks damaging all opp. 
    nearby (or all opp. ?? not confirmed yet) But 	anyway, this move sucks because 
    they only does a little damage. Never use it again though.
    4. ???			(Spinning Attack)	Opp. Nearby.
    	Slams down, then four obelisks shows up damaging all nearby opp. with 
    heavy damage. A Great move.
    5. ???			(Spinning Attack)	Opp. Hit
    	Creating a lot of bubble damaging all opp. hit by the bubbles, cool 
    animation.
    
    
    Knuckles Techniques
    
    1. Tackle Dashing		(Middle Range Hit)	Opp. Hit
    	Charge forward, then get pow.up for each opp. hit.
    2. ???			(Middle Range Hit)	One Opp.
    	Jump kick forward, opp. that get kicked will get dizzy. Great for fighting 
    bosses with NPCs.
    3. ??? 			(Spinning Attack)	Opp. Nearby
    	Kicking in all direction, damaging all opp. nearby.
    4. Heaven ???		(Short Range Hit)	Opp. Hit
    	Double Uppercut a-la Ryu's Shinryuken in Street Fighter III series.
    5. ???			(Short Range Hit)	Opp. Hit
    	Rolls around, then rolling forward with fire around your body. Very 
    damaging attack.
    6. ???			(Spinning Attack)      Opp. Nearby
    	Slams down, creating Magical Orb that damages all opp. around you.
    
    
    
    Although this FAQ lacks most move you may had have, at least this is the first 
    FAQ for the abilities in LoM, I hope :) I also hope that someone would finish 
    this FAQ because my lack of time.
