"an old game that is a classic"

Twisted Metal is still a great game even though it's been out for such a long time. I think that it is better than Twisted Metal 3 which is probably the worst of all the Twisted Metal games (Twisted Metal 2 is the best). It has some flaws but of course all of the TM games have flaws.

Graphics: 7
The graphics are pretty good for such an old game. The various cars are not that detailed but the explosions are great as they are in all TM games. I don't really care about the graphics however because they don't hurt the gameplay at all. The graphics for everybody's special weapons are ok but they don't last long. There are no FMV's which is sad because the endings would be a lot better if they were FMV's.

Audio: 7
The music is ok. Sometimes it goes well with a certain level and sometimes it doesn't. It isn't the best music of the TM series (in my opinion TM 3 had the best) but it works well in this game. The sound fx are good with gun fire and explosions being heard clearly. Perhaps a little talking when you are being shot at would be nice but it wasn't necessary.

Gameplay: 10
This is a really fun game. I love the different characters and all of them have their own strengths and weaknesses. The two player and one player games are both great but the two player isn't as easy to play because you see less of the screen. It is easier to play two player though because you don't need a link cable or two tv's or two games, just one game, one tv and two controllers. Most people overlook this game and talk about TM2, but I think this game is almost as good as TM2.

Control: 7
The control in this game is ok. It's not that great but it doesn't hurt the gameplay at all. You can drive around and shoot although taking turns can be a little difficult and you may find yourself crashing into the wall many times. This is especially true with the cars that don't handle that well (like Sweet Tooth). Some weapons have homing capabilities so that helps you out some but even if they don't you can usually get positioned fast enough to shoot your enemy because of the responsive controls.

Story: 7
Well the story in this game is the same as all the TM games. There are a bunch of people trying to win the twisted metal contest to get one wish that they desire. All the people in the contest have different reasons to be in it but they all want that one wish for something. There isn't much more to the story other than that but it's still effective after all the TM games.

Replay: 9
You're probably going to want to replay this game. Unless you hate it completely then you'll just play the game with every person and get all of their endings. There are twelve people so you're going to be playing for a few days. Also you'll probably be playing the two player game with your friends for a while. The only problem is that there aren't many secrets with this game (there is only one hidden level and no hidden cars). Other than that this game is a classic game that is really great.
