Battle Hunters may not be popular but it's a good game to try out and it's cheap compared to other games.
Good: The fun part about the game is its combination of a turn-based RPG and a board game. The most part that interests me is being a multi-player game. This give the potential of playing together with other players' customized characters in a board game.
Bad: The down-side is that the storyline in 1 player mode is short and the maximum level of your customized character is 15.
Multi-player: In Battle Hunters, you can have up to 4 players playing and shortage of controllers is not a problem since you can assign players to share controller. There is a color that is coded to each players and can exchange controls of the main menu by pressing select.
The color coded for each character are:
P1 - Blue P2- Red P3 - Orange P4 - Green
Memory Card Space: This game uses very little space. One block can hold up to 15 characters but can only have one block for each memory card.
Rent or Purchase: This game is definitely good for purchase. You can purchase this game in the same price as renting 2 games and the game costs about $10 normally.
Gameplay - 8/10
It's a great game for its unique style of gameplay as a turn-based RPG/Board Game.
Controls - 6/10
The movement on the board is confusing at first since the board is set up diagonally but after a while you can get the hang of it.
Story - 3/10
There is not much to it and only have for 1 player and not multi-player. It has a very short story that is about 15 missions that is tied to the story.
Graphics - 8/10
It may not be in 3D but as a 2D, it looks good. When the screen turns around for another character's turn to attack, it looks as if it were 3D seeing the board and the characters' side turn.
Audio - 7/10
The sound affects are good for the different sounds of weapons and traps. The background music can be catchy and can be stuck in your head. After a while, it can be annoying but can be solved just by just ignoring the music and focus on the gameplay.
Replayability - 8/10
Battle Hunters can be very replayable. Its very replayable because it can be very addictive building up your character and getting supportive items. You can play for several hours if you're into multi-player gaming. Building your character can be fun and challenging getting items but limited since level 15 is the maximum level you can boost your character.
Overall - 7/10
Mostly, this is a great game to pick up but may have its limits.
