Yes, I finally got off my lazy butt and updated this file after a year,
sorry if any submissions were lost, but all in all, if I really need to,
I'll make one last update. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

       Various Notes (Please Read)

Since this file is now FINAL, no more questions will be answered
1 about this game, and no more updates, or strategies will be added
into the guide, unless an error has been found in the guide which
may mislead the reader to believe something else. Well, its been
good working on this guide and I may not make one for a very long
time coming, so, take care people! Hope this guide can help you!!

To avoid confusion, I would like to tell you that the ASCII drawn
2 maps in this guide of the Maverick Stages ARE not taken off any
other guides or sites. This was all made by me, CC and it did not
involve plagiarism. This also applies to boss names used in this
guide, they are all listed somewhere during the credits, which
was taken out of there. By no means plagiarism was used, not any
kind was used in the making of this Megaman X3 guide. If you have
any problems concerning this topic meet me at the GameFAQs board
under my name 'CC'. By all means try not to bother me, please....

And also, will people stop e-mailing me about how to summon armor
3 please? This topic is very annoying, and I've told you before not
to ask me this again. Many people still do, and this pisses me
off. All I can say is, you need the Chimera Armor, and also you
need to look in the FAQ section because its explained there okay?

For your own personal easy navigation in this guide, I have put
4 in the easy navigation technique. If you look in the contents,
you will see that there are some words in brackets. This is the
'easy navigation system', as *I* call it, you may not. But any-
way, to work this, all you have to do is type in the 4 letters in
the brackets of the level, topic, place you want to instantly go
to. Press CTRL+F and type in the 4 letters, and you will be taken
there in a split second, saving time, rather than scrolling all
the way down the guide. Just making life easier for you people.

And can I say this while I can? Thank you all who encourage me
5 and inspire me to make more guides and make the existing ones
even better than before. Your words help me make what YOU think
is a good FAQ/Guide that there is. I say this again, Thank You.

In the year 21XX, all the mavericks have been neutralized thanks
to the efforts of a Reploid scientist named, "Dr. Doppler". Using his
Neuro Computer he has been able to suppress any abnormal behavior in
the reploids and prevent them from going berserk. Many of the most
advanced reploids have gathered near their mentor and founded "Dopple
Town", a perfect Utopian community. With Dr. Doppler guiding them, the
world seemed ready to enter a new golden age... After a few months...
The Mavericks who were supposed to have been neutralized by the Neuro
Computer suddenly appeared and began to riot... At Maverick Hunter
Headquarters, all the intelligence indicated that Dr. Doppler was the
mastermind behind the invasion. Soon, the call went out to X and Zero
to destroy the invading Mavericks and to bring Dr. Doppler to justice.
Maverick Hunter X and Zero Dispatch! A few hours later, emergency
contact was made by the headquarters of Maverick Hunter. "This is the
headquarters of Maverick Hunter. We are under attack from the Doppler
force. All units return to base immediately and return fire."

Assuming you know how to play Megaman X pretty well, i shouldn't need
to put starter off tips here. If really needed, please refer to other
guides which should tell you how and what the basic movements are.

    ======================================================================
Introduction : Assault on the Maverick Hunter Headquarters! (MHHQ)
    ======================================================================

You will start off getting shot at by the base, then the scene gets to
you and Zero, getting shot down but safely landing right outside.
Zero tells you that he'll clear the enemies here, and for you to head
inside and kill the enemies there.

Get Ready! Remember your controls. Defeat the easy enemies inside (you
shouldn't receive any or much damage) then defeat the electrical enemy
and grab the big Life Tank. Head down the stairs. Go around, down the
stairs and you'll soon meet Mac. Megaman/X recognizes Mac, this person
here. Mac shoots you. You're paralyzed. Yeah. Read.

X Gets taken away... what now? The roof breaks and... Zero comes out!
You get to control Zero, he a max life but no special X Buster upgrades.
Head along and watch out for the falling ceiling. Wall climb up the
wall to the stairs where you will travel up, head right and get a big
life tank, then wall climb up the wall. Watch out for the spike balls
coming down, they don't hurt much so I'm sure you can take a little
bit of damage. Go right and hit the boss door, who is not really a
boss. Mac is the 'boss', but it so easy. Just charge up your buster
till you're green and shoot, then hit him with your Z-Sabre! He'll go
down right after that. Then shoot the suspender above Megaman and he
will be released. Bla bla bla...

Moah The Gaint Boss Navigation phrase - (MOTG)

Head right through the door, wall jump up and head to the boss, Maoh
the Giant. Refer to the Bosses section for help. After that Zero will
come. Zero will tell X that they've cleared most of the enemies in
here, and to call him if he has any troubles. He goes.

    CODE (row by row): 7741 5231 3441 2486
You now switch to the Maverick level selection screen. Here they are:

Blast Hornet Blizzard Buffalo Gravity Beetle Toxic Seahorse

Volt Catfish Crush Crawfish Tunnel Rhino Neon Tiger

    Suggested order:
(Blast Hornet) Blizzard Buffalo, Toxic Seahorse, Tunnel Rhino, Volt
Catfish, Crush Crawfish, Neon Tiger, Gravity Bettle, Blast Hornet.

NOTE: Blast Hornet is in brackets, just in case you want to do this
first. Either way, the stage after you defeat the maverick will have
the weapon which the maverick is weak to.

Blizzard Buffalo Easy navigation Item List phrase - (BZBS)

You start off outside, on the slippery ice. Don't let the game fool
you, the ice is slippery. So if you move left you will move further
than expected, and watch out for the first spikes there. When you
defeat the enemies and head on, you'll see a ladder, spikes and a
slanted edge. Here's the hard part, when you go down, you slip, and
most people face the spikes and die. Jump up on the ladder straight
away, or wall jump to the ladder. After the ladder, left to you is a
strange thing, which allows you to summon Robots via the platform when
you get the upgrade. Go right, don't worry about the blocks.
Stand at the edge before the ice (but just after the ice blocks) and
shoot. Slide down and keep shooting the enemies, but jump past the
spikes, otherwise you will die! Its important to kill the enemies
because they shoot those damn missiles! Anyway after drop down and go
right. Wall jump up the left wall and up the ladder, defeat the enemy
and shoot across the gap to destroy that enemy over the otherside.
Dash and if you need to, jump, then wall jump up to get the big Life
Tank. Go right, drop down, go left and drop. There should be 2 enemies
on either side, destroy them quickly, but luckily there's a big Life
Tank waiting for you on the left side. Drop down and enter the door,
which should hold a mini-boss but it shouldn't at the moment. If so,
refer to the boss section. (Bit or Byte). After that, go up and go to
the edge, dash jump to get the Big Life tank, and then slide left and
the room will darken. Charge up your X-Buster and shoot the ice
covered enemies to get the ice off, then blast away at it to destroy
it. There's 3 of them. When you get to the gap, you can slide down the
left to a empty place, which will hole Vile when you have defeated two
Maverick bosses. Go up the ladder and up to the outside. Don't worry
about the sub-tank, you can't get FOR now. Anyway, go up the ledges
and across. Fall through the little gap and go left, where you will
reach the air machine which boosts you up. Shoot it and it will be
destroyed, and the light will return. You can get the leg armor
now, which then you can get the Sub-tank. Refer to the items section.
After that you go right and face Blizzard Buffalo. Refer to boss
section for help. Make sure you have full health before entering.
Also, charge up before entering (charge X-Buster). [If this Megaman X3

Start off heading right, shooting the enemies which should most of the
times drop big Life tanks, so don't worry if you take a hit from their
beam. Slide down the right wall at the end and head left, then right,
and defeat 2 enemies. You should be at a sludge-fall now, so dash jump
to the wall and wall jump up. On the right side jump to the left side
or air-dash to the left side. Don't get carried down by the stream
there, and defeat the enemies and get a big life tank. Keep heading
up, till you reach a ladder. Dash jump to the other side and wall jump
up, and wait on the edge (touching the stream) till a big life tank
drops down. Keep heading up. You can get a heart tank now, refer to
items to get this simple tank. Go right into a boss door, which hold
Bit or Byte. Remember to make sure to defeat them when you get to
them. Go right and drop in the hole, if you go more right there is a
robot pad, but you shouldn't have any robot armors yet. You will
notice in the water that you can jump easily. Don't go along the top
of the platforms, a strong current will hold you back to go
underneath. If you have the right requirements, you can get the
Kangaroo Armor and Leg Chip now. [If this Megaman X3 guide is not by

There are spikes, so jump carefully and wall jump back up
from the death gap. Dash jump very lightly in the next path, you can
jump too high here. Keep going on to a mini-boss, Hotacreeca. He's a
octopus like mini-boss and very easy. Just blast many bullets into his
head and he should die. Go into the next room and the water should
fall. Head up the ladders and kill the Wall Cancer, and get the big
Life tank. Head up the ladder to a fall, and head along till you fall
down a gap at the other side. Be careful, hug the right side and shoot
the enemy, there are spikes there. After that head down the ladder and
    face Toxic Seahorse.

When you first start, beware of the enemy who drops the big boulder,
it can be shot at but it does hurt, so does the enemy when it falls.
Keep heading on, you will head underground. Go down, left, down and
right, jump over the gap, and you will reach an enemy which blocks
your way. Shoot its head, with the face on it and it should die. A
bouncing enemy comes after that, shoot it. Climb up the wall and head
left, not right, although there is a heart tank there. Its unreachable
at this point in time, come back when you have TRIAD THUNDER.
GO up, and past the conveyor belt, which above it has some sort of
sludge shooter, and go past the spikes which has the same thing above.
Head up and around till you hit a gap going down. Refer to items
section on how to get the most simplest sub-tank.
Go in between the enemies, defeat them, go left and down, right into a
boss door. You most likely will face Bit here. After that defeat new
enemies and climb up the right wall. Jump to the left. Defeat the
blocking enemy and grab the big life tank, which you will need if you
fought Bit. Go right and let the boulder fall, then defeat the
blocking enemy. Go right, wall jump and then jump dash to the other
side of the WALL. A boulder will fall where you just were. Jump over
the spikes and jump back, let the boulder pass. Go up, and another one
of the boulders is blocking. Refer to items section.
Go right, and hug the wall, and the boulder will fall. Hug the wall
down the right, and meet Hell Crusher, the mini boss. He's easy, shoot
his body and when you can go at the back of him. He'll also dispatch
himself from the lower body so shoot him up there. Head right, defeat
enemies and go up stairs. Defeat the wall enemies and go up and right.

Start off heading right till you get to a sensor emitting a red beam.
When it hits diagonally quickly dash and hold B and hopefully you
should get past without it hurting you. Kill the enemies and get past.
When you hit a platform, that leads to the Vile Capsule, it teleports
you to the Vile Level. Go down and go through Vile's level. After
that you start again, and head past the platform this time. Defeat the
electrical enemies and head up the platform. Go up and get the big
life tanks at the side, and wall jump up and be careful not to hit the
death spikes. Beware of the sensors, wait till it turns off, and then
proceed quickly. Head left and up the walls, and then right up a
platform with spikes at the side. Go all the way up the top if you
want to get a Heart tank, or get off left when you see it. Go left and
some different sensors appear, evade them easily and go up the left
wall. Head right to another platform. There are two turn-offs, one
right and one left. The one up left leads to the armor part, but i
doubt you will be able to get it so head right. Head right and you'll
cross to another section of the building, and a boss door. After you
face Byte, or if you don't head right. Go up and right, and there will
electrical sparks on the wall. Don't worry about heading up, is a

If you haven't defeated Vile, this level is much harder.
Go right then up the wall, its both the same except there are
big armored enemies, ignore them and you reach water. Go right then
fall down, summon the Frog Armor and drop down. It works most effective
here and to the enemies, so go all the way to the right wall.To
the right wall it gets a little harder. Go up the right wall, jump off
and air dash up. Keep at the wall and then jump and air dash up again.
Do it again and you should be at a point where you cannot air dash up.
Goto the boss room and face Mosquitoes. Switch to Zero and refer to
secrets on how get his Zero Sabre. Be careful of this critter, if he
gets onto you he drains a lot of life. Wall jump up and shoot, fall
and evade him latching onto you and draining your life. He aint
that hard. After that there will be more enemies. Don't worry
about them but destroy the easy ones. Go till you get to a hall with
spikes and snails, shoot the snails to reveal a platform, jump up on it.
Defeat the flying enemies to the left, and shoot the snail on the left,
then do a very very very very careful jump onto the platform, its
very easy to hit the spikes. Go up and watch for enemies right of you,
when you get to a snail watch out for the flying enemy right, above you.
Keep on this platform, ignore the next snail, it doesn't go anywhere.
Go all the way up and be quick. Quickly shoot of the shell and jump
dash to the next platform before you can't.

If you have defeated Vile, this level is much much easier.
Head right and then up the wall, on the sides. Watch out for the
wall enemies. Then up the top go right till you reach the end. Fall
down. Drop down to a armor, summon one if you want to, then fall down.
Drop aaaallllll the way to the bottom. Destroy the chain enemies. To
the right wall it gets a little harder. Go up the right wall, jump off
and air dash up. Keep at the wall and then jump and air dash up again.
Do it again and you should be at a point where you cannot air dash up.
So air dash left to the wall and wall jump up, to a boss room.
After that keep going on, go right and up the wall. Go left and up
the wall, and then right again. Go till you get to a hall with spikes

they are first. Anyway, charge up you X-buster first before entering,

charge, do the wall climb thing like you said, but right when he
turns to face you, if you're in the air [jumping or vertical air
dashing] he'll turn around and ram right back into that wall. Then
shoot'm, and jump. Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

that time Toxic Seahorse would of hit your Frost Shield already, taking
off lots of his health. In no time he should die. A lot, lot easier
    than Blizzard Buffalo.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    From Cyril Lucas <cyrilxzero(at)yahoo.com>

After Toxic Seahorse has come into the screen and the life gauge comes
and fight, let it jumps to you. Before it reaches the floor, dash away.
(Risky. You could get hit by it's leg and take damage.) Don't dash
until you reach the wall, dash a few centimeters away from the wall.
Shoot out your Frost Shield and Toxicy (Toxic Seahorse) probally will
jump to you. So dash under him and go to the other side. (Don't go near
the wall.) Toxicy will get hit by the Frost S. Shoot out your Frost S.
and Toxicy will jump to you and dash it and then repeat the process.
When i use this strategy, Toxicy keep on jumping to me and get hit
everytime. Toxicy will try to hit you and did not concentrate on hitting
you with the asid ball and melt and go underground. This is almost
like Blizzard Buffalo except that instead of jumping over Toxicy, we
have to under him. (If it attacks you with that Asid ball, climb the

    From: Russ <russparsons89@yahoo.com>

I was reading your walkthru... which is very good... and i read your boss
strategy for the Neon Tiger. Seeing as i had 1 health bar left, no lives
left, was right at the boss door, and didnt feel like taking a game over,
    i decided to try it...
Instant death. Eventually, i devised a strategy of my own, with which i
beat the neon tiger with only 1 health bar remaining(not getting hit once!).
What i did was (important note: i WAS using an emulator, which helped me
alot, but this strategy will still work as long as you have a decent amount
of health), right after his intro ended, dashed right up to him and fired a
blade shot (dont dash too far or you run into him) then, when he jumped to
the wall behind me, jumped a tiny bit and fired another shot, then dashed to
the other side of the room and did the same. This way he was (mostly) caught
in the trend of jumping from wall to wall and starting to fire his tail ray
(i hit him before he fired it, or before he fired it more than once).
Occasionally he would jump at me off the wall, but a good dash away should
avoid that. Keep that strategy going and u should beat him (mostly) unharmed.

I was reading your FAQ/Walkthrough and I noticed that you described

Jump up on the wall and when he fires his magnet (or whatever it is)
make sure you are holding down the dash button while you are jumping

Strategy: This should be a little easier at first, he's in his Goliath.
Use the tactic, jump on the wall, jump then air dash in the other
direction, shoot his back with the Parasitic Bomb, charged up or not.
Or the Tornado Fang works fine. You will soon defeat him, and Vile
will come out. Shoot him with your Spinning Blade. To avoid the fire,
wall jump up the wall, and stay up there, till Vile shoots his fire
weapon and lands, air dash past him and shoot him.

First off I have to say that this is a great FAQ for Megaman X3.
I'm using while I play this game right now.

Anyways I have a strategy for the first time you face Vile in the
abandoned warehouse. (CC's note: First time???)
This is when Vile is in his Mech.

When he first charges at you just stand in the corner. He will stop a
few feet from you and try to punch you with his needle fist. You can
tell when he does this because he pulls his arm back a little. When
Vile does this just jump up. When you land shoot once then just again.
This takes 1 health away at a time. So continue shooting once then
jump till death. That way you will have full health for the next battle
    with Vile without this mech.

    Location: Doppler Stage 2

Strategy: Stay under Volt Kuragiel and Charge up or shoot your Triad

Strategy: Acid Burst works best because he's human (acid burns, think
logically). Anyway, beware of his shield then dash with the shield in
front of him, that hurts, so climb up the wall and then drop and
hopefully he dashes above you. His energy bullets hurt and are not
really easily avoided in such a small place. He regenerates. The
only thing annoying is the damn regenerating. He can be killed you
know, he will slowly regenerate less as you hurt him and as time
passes by. Persist in hitting him, don't worry about dodging him, his
attacks don't hurt much and he should go down.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    ~Correction!~
ok, again...blah blah blah, I can't believe I feel the need to correct
you on an faq about a game this old...but anyway...Tin your FAQ in where
you have the Dr. Doppler strategy, you say that he continuously
regenerates, this is UNTRUE! What happens is that he will kind of power
up and become surrounded by a greenish net kind of field. During this
time seemingly any attack he is hit with will heal him by twice the damage
it would have done (according to my calculations). That's all.
    sorry to bother you again,

Hey. First of all, I'd like to say that your guide is a LIFE SAVER.
I would have never been able to find all of the armor, let alone the
gold chip, without your help. Thanks a million.

Now, onto business... Dr. Doppler. I have found a VERY easy way to
beat him (and I say VERY easy because I only got hit once and beat
him in about a minute). First off... the regenerating... when he
puts up that field, anything you shoot at him CHARGES him instead of
hurting him. What I did to make this fight so easy was: stand at
the far end of the room when he shoots his bullets. You can dodge
them quite easily that way. Then, just as he is charging his fireball
attack and right before he does it, jump and dash up. If done
correctly, he'll rise and then use his attack. At the pinacle of your
jump, use the Acid Burst, and it should hit him mid-flight. Then,
turn around and jump and shoot again. After that, just dash to the
far end of the room from him and repeat the process. As I said, I
killed him in about a minute this way, and I only got hit once, that
being a mistake on my controls.

Once again, thanks for writing such a great guide.

Thanks for the walkthrough on Megaman X3. I found an easier way to
defeat Sigma while also talking no or very little damage with full
sub-tanks. When he's doing his fireball thing, jump up on the wall,
then wall jump to the middle of the room. From there air jump up
twice (if you have the golden chip, or leg chip), and you escape
all of his fireballs. Land quickly, just as the last fire ball passes,
and when he jumps, attack him, then quickly, jump, then air jump
again, to avoid the fireballs he launches while in the air. Repeat
the process, and you're done. I did this and beat sigma with only
    minute damage.

Yes, I'm aware that this is a very old game now, but I happened to be
using your guide as I played through the game. I can never remember
where some stuff is. Well, I happened to notice that you had no really
good strategy for defeating Sigma (not Kaiser Sigma). Here's my tip:

When you enter this fight, have four full sub-tanks; you may need them
in this battle and the next battle. Equip the Spinning Blade. Do not,
I repeat, do NOT ever charge it during this fight. It will do no damage
and waste a considerable portion of weapon energy. Okay on to the death.
The first part is a grab bag. It's going to depend on what Sigma does.
He will jump into the air and chuck fireballs if you do nothing. Get
onto the wall that is not being sieged by Sigma's fire. Do not shoot,
that comes later. Sigma will drop to the ground and begin throwing
fireballs your way. Jump and double air-dash onto the wall above Sigma.
Fire the spinning blade. At a certain point on the wall, the return pass
of the spinning blade will go above Sigma's shield and hit him in the head.
Do not drop off the wall. Now, since he is above you, he will jump to the
other side of the room. Double air-dash over there. Rinse. Repeat.
If he hurls his shield about, just dodge it without leaving the wall
above Sigma's head. The upper corner will always be safe from Sigma's
shield. Don't bother trying to hit Sigma when he throws his shield.
If the shield contacts the Spinning Blade (it almost always will), the
    Spinning Blade will be destroyed.

With the exception of the very beginning of this strategy, you will
always be on the walls. If you do it flawlessly, you will beat Sigma
without taking damage. If you make a mistake and get hit, just try to
get above Sigma. As long as you are always above, he will always jump
to the other wall, where you can easily stay above him. By the way,
you will miss with the Spinning Blade often.

Feel free to add this to your FAQ if you wish.

his missiles when he blocks you, and his head is SO DAMN HARD TO HIT!!!
Skilled players use at least 1 subtank but normal/beginners use 2/3/4.
This guy's head is annoying! ANNOYING! Watch out for the beam he
shoots, it hurts when you get into it. DAMN HIS HEAD!!!! And watch for
the balls floating around. F**k the HEAD! Anyway, there's basically no
way to avoid his attacks. Charge up your X-buster after Hyper C is

except you don't have to charge it up!

    Item: Energy Chip
Required : Leg Upgrade (Hawk Armor optional)

Goto the robot pad, as stated, then summon Hawk armor. To Jetpack,
press and hold the B button, and jet across the gap and the spikes.
You will reach a place with the capsule waiting.

    From Eric Lasota <tern(at)rochester.rr.com>

Regarding the Energy Chip on the Blast Hornet stage. The requirements
aren't quite right: You NEED the leg upgrade, otherwise you can't get
to the robot pad. Even so, the Hawk Armor isn't really REQUIRED to get
it.... I didn't even consider that my first two times through, even
though now I realize that IS a much better way.... Just jump up the wall,
spring up near the lower edge of the spikes and boost upwards while
you're at the peak of your jump, and you'll make it over the spikes.
Takes a few tries, of course, and requires the leg upgrade.

    Item: Chimera Armor
    Required : T.Fang (Tunnel Rhino)

Go along the top of the buildings. If you notice, the crates in the
middle of the two buildings explode, so go to the second set of crates
and blow them up. Go and use T.Fang on the wall, and then blast the
crate. Fall down and go left... Shoot the suspender above the armor to
get it! Head left and up the platform to exit.

Crucial Note: This armor is the armor which allows you to summon other
armors, so if you are wondering how to summon, then you need to obtain
this before you can summon any other armors you have obtained anywhere.

    Item: Heart Tank
    Required : Leg Upgrade

To get the Heart Tank, after you have gotten the Chimera armor and
rode up the platform and gotten out of the crate smashing place, try
to head all the way right, but you notice that you are blocked. Get
out and just before the place you couldn't go any further, air dash up
and wall jump up, and get the heart tank at the top.

    but -NO- chip capsules.

Go to the first stage of the Doppler's fortress, and head to the
place where some spiked balls keep falling from those tube things
into you. Go to the left side (where the ball falls down) and
jump to the left wall and slide into a hidden gap where there
will be a capsule waiting for you, all the chip upgrades in there,
and it makes you gold! You also must have FULL life, but not full sub
tanks. This just makes you gold, and thats all, so you can set your-
self a challenge to get this... though its not hard.

    The Z-Sabre for Megaman
    **********************************************************************

Note: Can only get if you HAVE not defeated Vile.
Read the boss section for help. Then go to the second level of doppler's
fortress. Just before the sub-boss door, switch to Zero via the
menu. Defeat the boss with Zero, and use the Z-Sabre there.
After you defeat it the boss will latch onto Zero, and
Megaman runs in. Zero will give Megaman his Zero sabre.
Now you will be able to charge to the green stage Zero does and
hit enemies and kill them in one or two shots!
Also cehck out the various notes on some passwords (thanks to Charles
    Bilyu who got the passwords!)

    How to Summon Armor?

Argh. This is the most common question ever, so I decided to make it
very long. So, here goes. Make sure you read it all!

To Summon Armor, first you must aquire the CHIMERA ARMOR from the
BLAST HORNET's stage, though you must aquire T.Fang from TUNNEL RHINO's
stage. In the stage when you are heading along the top of the buildings,
blast the 2nd crates on top which is the part in between the buildings,
to blast a hole which you can drop through. Go down, and there's a cracked
wall to the left. Use T.Fang on it to destroy it, go through and blow
up the crate there. Drop down, head left and there the armor is. Blast
the suspender above it, its like the one X was in at the start. This is
free the Chimera Armor, and you will be able to summon the other
    armors you have got!

Whats the point of the Golden Chip?

Other than the fact that the golden chip gives you all chip upgrades at
once and makes you golden than the usual blueish colour you normally get,
    nothing else will be affected.

"MMX3 Password Issues" and various other notes
    Charles Bilyu <esaelon(at)hotmail.com>
    Greetings,

I grabbed your Mega Man X3 FAQ off GameFAQs and noticed the request for
certain passwords. While I've never been able to figure out the exact
means of encoding a password from scratch, I've gotten fairly good at
transmuting passwords since I started working them over on the first Mega
Man X game. I must say, however, that the password system in MMX3 seems
considerably simpler than that in either prequel. In MMX3, any single
change to the state reflected in the password will change no more than
2 characters of the password - the prequels seemed to be a bit more
    flexible on that point. x.x

Not all passwords are meaningful, and not all changes actually cause a
benefit. This is most apparent in MMX's Hadoken password modification,
MMX2's Shoryuken password modificaiton, and MMX3's Golden Chip
modification (which is NOT actually a single modification, but the
combination of all four other Chip modifications). None of these actually
give any benefit when used in a password, even when they are accepted as
valid. Because of the nature of the 'Golden Chip' code, it is NOT possible
to generate a password with all four chips enabled. However, it IS
possible to generate one with three of four enabled (!).

More surprisingly, the Z-Sabre modification that is reflected in passwords
after getting the Z-Sabre DOES work - however, it requires all the Maverick
stages to be cleared, so the only benefit is being able to start with it
in the first Doppler stage. Interesting to note, if you get the Z-Sabre
without having the Dual Buster, you actually end up charging the Z-Sabre
FAR faster (it's ready on the 2nd charge level, instead of the 5th) - but
it doesn't get the beam that goes with the 5th charge level.

Furthermore, I haven't checked MMX2 yet, but I know for a fact that in MMX
and MMX3, the passwords NEVER save how far you've gotten in the
Sigma/Doppler stages! Hence, it is impossible to generate a code to start
any later than the first Doppler stage.

Now, for the code you requested that CAN be made:
*everything (except Sabre), not defeated Vile, no chips
    8317 1353 6772 3721
    4454 2165 6162 7386
    2357 5363 6462 7741
    6414 4155 6872 3356

    *above, WITH Sabre
    8317 8353 6772 3724
    4454 3165 6162 7385
    2357 7363 6462 7744
    6414 6155 6872 3355

If you want, I can work out the closest codes to the ones you asked for
with all chips (with three chips instead of four), but it might be a bit
before I'd get around to it.

Also, the Maverick order I used follows:
Blizzard Buffalo -> Toxic Seahorse -> Tunnel Rhino -> Neon Tiger -> Blast
Hornet -> Volt Catfish -> Crush Crawfish -> Gravity Beetle

Neon Tiger wasn't particularly hard, though I did need the sub tanks -
he is VERY predictable, and the Acid Burst works fairly well on him,
particularly because you can choose to fire it straight up/down by holding
that direction when firing. Blast Hornet was more difficult, and I can't
remember what weapon I used for that bug. The rest were comparitively
easy. The benefits of this order are that you get the Dual Buster fairly
early, and the Chimera Armor early also, though putting the beetle off
'til the end means no Armor upgrade 'til after all the stages are cleared.
One nice thing is that you can clear out a few stages the first time
through (tiger, crawfish, beetle), and can get a lot of sub/heart tanks
early (3 of each before dealing with tiger, fortunately).

    Best wishes,
    Charles Bilyu (TRAC)

This password thanks to James is for "Everything, not defeated vile,
not got any chips at all, up to doppler stage 1, (doppler stage 1 not
    complete)"

That you wanted it goes like this:
2377 *if it does not work it may be because in
5163 my haste of writing it down i mighthave
    6462 wrote a 4 where i shouldhave put a 9.
    7741

i have the NTSC version and it only alows one chip upgrade and judging
from the words you used to reply makes me think you may have the PAL
version which is supposed to be slightly differnt than the NTSC version
anyway thats my guess cause there is nothing wrong with the game .
