ARC THE LAD II - GUILD JOBs

At this moment, there over 400 messages on the gamefaqs board just relating to
the Guild jobs and as nobody has yet posted an FAQ on this specific subject I
thought there was a need for one. Unfortunately I have missed a Job somewhere
(it may be the Super Job) so I would be grateful for any info on the 58th job.

General:

SAVE BEFORE YOU TAKE THE JOB, NOT AFTER YOU HAVE ACCEPTED IT JUST IN CASE IT
ALL GOES PEAR-SHAPED.

Some jobs are time-specific i.e. if you don't do them when they appear, then
the next time you're in that country they will have disappeared. For example,
the 2 jobs that Lieza has to do in Ramul will not be there when you arrive in
Forles later.
On the other hand, there are some jobs that appear but that you cannot complete
until much later in the game - the notorious example is "The mysterious job
interview" which is available in Indigos very early on but you cannot complete
it until you have cleared Balbalard.

I have listed the jobs in the order in which they become available, and when
they are available.

INDIGOS - (first visit)

INDIGOS SEWER RESEARCH
	The sewer entrance is in the top left area of Indigos by a small boy. If you
stand on the manhole cover, you are given the option to open the cover.
GHOST HOUSE, RUIN TOWN
	Go upstairs to fight the skeleton.
INDIGOS JEWELRY ROBBERY
	Do Barns' Lost Dog first as you will be leaving Indigos after the jewelry job.
The most important thing is to get to the hole in the wall and block it as fast
as possible. Don't bother fighting until you have all the party in front of the
wall. Put someone (probably Shu) into the hole and then the others in a line in
front of him.
BARNS' LOST DOG
	The dog is in the sewer.

INDIGOS - (after Yagos Island)

WEIRD SEWER SOUNDS
	Hold off killing the boss until you've got all the experience points from the
skeletons.
DOLL COLLECTOR IN RUINS
	Push the dolls on the ground floor out of the way to get to the stairs. Make
sure that you move the party up to the Doll Master so that he is trapped
against the wall. Otherwise he will escape and you won't get the full merits.
After the battle, notice the familiar doll in the upper right corner which you
can activate by pressing buttons.
DANGEROUS TYPES IN RUINS	
	Run-of-the-mill battle.
	
INDIGOS - (after Gallarno battle)

3AM PIANO AT THE BAR
	Just a battle.

PRODIAS - (after Gallarno battle)

INDIGOS WHISKEY DELIVERY
	Ambush outside the Indigos Bar.
SEARCH FOR MISSING CHILD
	Lookalike kids are everywhere. The one you want is in Elc's apartment
building, in front of the far right door.
MONSTERS IN VACANT HOUSE
	The vacant house is where you fought Gallarno. You have to fight monsters in
the 4 back rooms, the hall and the dining room.
PROTECT HOUSE FROM BURGLARS
	Fight the thieves in the 4 back rooms. No, you cannot open the treasure
chests, or attack Ms Rouge.
ROBBER'S REVENGE
	Pitched battle in the hall.

RAMUL - (before Lieza enters Holn)

FIND THE MISSING SON
	After speaking to the client in the Yuk Yuk Comedy Club which is next to the
Hunters Guild, leave Ramul. Go to just south of Holn and enter Forest Edge
where you will meet the son.
CATCH THE MISCHIEVOUS BOY
	You have to find him 8 times in various places around town. You can actually
see him the first 7 times but then he conceals himself behind one of the trees
to the left of the Hunter's Guild. The faster you track him down, the more
merits you get. Therefore it's probably a good idea to save, and then do the
job once to find the hiding places and then do a reset and do the job again.	
	
HOUFION - (before going to the Tunnel for the first time)

GUARD THE RECYCLERS
	Stop the monsters from getting to the scrap guy. You will only have to do this
for a number of turns, but the monsters reappear so you can't relax.
STOP THE TERRIBLE GAS LEAK
	Leave Houfion. On the map go right to the Cave-In. Jump into the hole. Go left
for chests. Go right and right again for the wall switch.

HOUFION - (after derailing the train but before going left into the Tunnel)

MONSTERS' FOOD?
	Find the door with the guy standing in front of it. Work your way through the
passages until you reach the room with the large blocks. You have to push all
the blocks into position against the top wall so that the holes are blocked.
Notice the pattern on the top of each block, and the same pattern all over the
floor. If you step on the patterned floor tiles, the skeletons come pouring
out. So you have to manoeuvre the blocks without stepping on those tiles. The
only really tricky block to position is the 4th from the left so do that one
first, by getting a block to the top wall and then pushing it sideways to close
off the 4th hole. If the skeletons do come out, just leave the area and then go
back in rather than doing a Restart.

PAYSUS - (after retrieving the Scroll)

FIND A NEW HOME
	Do NOT accept this job until you can visit Zariban as the new home is in
Elzark. The house is in the right of Elzark - talk to the lady inside.
PLAY CUPID
	Talk to the sheikh in the far right room of the Inn. Talk to the girl at the
desk downstairs. Talk to him again and agree to get the jewelry. Go to Anan
Flats and defeat all the enemies. Take the jewelry back to the lovelorn guy.

PRODIAS - (after getting the Silver Noah)

EXTERMINATE THE WEAPONS THIEF
	A moonlight chase leading to a battle.
SLAY THE MONSTER
	Apt 2 is in Elc's building. On Yagos, the Jinbara Tube is round the coast to
the east. The Jinbara has 1024 HP but is not very difficult to defeat.
INDIGOS ESCORT
	Defeat the 3 guys behind you first.
CATCH THE SLASHER
	Use your strongest fighter (male or female) for the decoy. Don't be taken in
by the guy's sob story.

INDIGOS - (after getting the Silver Noah)

INDIGOS JEWELRY ROBBERS II
	The store is bigger and the enemies are stronger but the strategy is the same.
Get to the hole in the wall ASAP and block it. You cannot let anyone escape.
MYSTERIOUS JOB INTERVIEW
	DO NOT ACCEPT THIS JOB until you have cleared the storyline in Balbalard. The
dragon is being looked after by Piers Beronica in Tukae Cave in Balbalard.

PALENCIA - (after getting the Silver Noah)

FIND THE ANCIENT TREASURE
	The client is the guy in green by the billard table, in the Bar. After
defeating all the enemies in the Castle Ruins, search the rocks in the upper
right. You'll jump over them and find the ancient letter. Take it to the
client.
FIND THE ANCIENT TREASURE II
	Defeat the enemies at Quina Hill. After the battle, search the lower right
corner where there is a skeleton of a crow.
VENGEANCE ASSISTANCE
	The client is through the centre door in the Inn.
	
MISRO - (after getting the Silver Noah)

FIND THE OLD MAN
	The client is in the upper, far right house. The old man is in the bottom left
house - looks like a clown. Talk to him, talk to the client, talk to the old
man, talk to the client.
MONSTER IN THE ARENA
	Talk to the organiser in the Arena Courtyard. There are 8 identical monsters
to start with. You can't tell which is the correct one and every time you kill
1 enemy, another appears. It is very easy to be overwhelmed by sheer numbers.
My strategy (which I don't claim is the right one) is to use Dream Knock and
then pick them off one by one.
ARENA MONSTER REVOLT
	As you move up the arena, more monsters will appear. Three sets in all.

HOUFIN - (after you get the Silver Noah)

CATCH THE SCRAP THIEF
	Go down the stairs into the basement. 6 Acid Slimes will appear.
SLAY THE NOCTURNAL MONSTERS
	Oh joy, another battle in the dark. Six Jackals.

ELZARK - (after you get the Silver Noah)

STOP THE DESERT THIEVES
	Talk to all the people in the Elzark bar. Go back to the Inn and choose to
rest. Another night battle.
STOP THE DESERT THIEVES II
	Go to the Raiden Ruins (top left of the map). Battle against 10 Berserkers and
3 Dark Paladins. Area attacks are recommended.

GOOZ - (after defeating Rygar)

CLEAR THE TRACKS
	On the first screen in Mt Banza, go left. Battle, mine-cart, battle. Push all
the rocks into the hole in the bottom centre of the area. The only tricky one
is the singleton rock in the C-shaped track with lava around. You can't do
anything with the mine carts. If you mess up, go and talk to the client and ask
to start over.
COLLECT MINERALS
	There are 3 minerals on the left hand side from the entrance and 17 dotted
around the main part of the mountain. In some cases you may have to walk the
tracks to pick the minerals up.
DELIVER MEAT TO THE GOURMET
	The joint of meat is sitting, very inhygenically, on a stool in the kitchen of
the Lord's Manor.
MONSTERS ON THE TRACKS
	Go left and then on to where you cleared the tracks. There is now an opening
in the top left. Continue on until you meet the client. Defeat the Fire Birds.
DELIVER THE HERB
	Surprise, surprise - the special Cure-All is right at the top of the mountain.
GET MONSTER EGG
	It's the one you saw after defeating the Fire Birds. Fight your way through,
and pick it up. (I wasn't sure about the ecological aspect of this job, but see
the next job)
MONSTER KIDS!
	Talk to the client and then go to the woman in the Bar who you got the
Cure-All for.

RAMUL - (after the Gia Temple is destroyed)

YUK YUK COMEDY GUARD
	Defeat the bad guys.
GET FOOD TO HOLN VILLAGE
	See the barman and collect the food. You will be ambushed by Barbarians when
you enter Holn.

AJARL - (after defeating Graunoln)

ARCHAEOLOGICAL GUARD
	You have to protect the client 3 times against Hemo-Jin. You can go back to
town to recover after each battle and change the line-up if necessary. You have
to keep the enemies a distance from the archaeologist otherwise he loses his
temper with you and storms off. Dream Knock is useful for controlling the
Hemo-Jin before you get round to killing them.

AJARL - (after doing the Oil Rig)

RESCUE COAL MINERS
	You can only carry 1 miner at a time so you have to go back to the guy at the
entrance each time you rescue one. The more rocks you destroy, and the more
miners you rescue, the shakier the cave becomes. It would be a good idea to
save, do the job while mapping the cave, reset then do the job again. (Doesn't
the guy at the entrance look like Lynx).

MOREA - (after the visit to Senor Generale)

BOOR AT THE BAR
	Talk to all the customers in the Bar and the guy in the back room to start the
action.
FIND THE MISSING BURRO
	Talk to the client, talk to the young couple near her, talk the the client
again. Go to Madeta Hill and defeat the enemies. Talk to the client in town.
5 FEATHERS OF AMIGUE ROC
	The client is the seated customer in the right of the Bar. Check there is a
Roc on the battlefield at Madeta Hill before going into battle (unless you need
the exp points).
THEFT AT SENOR GENERALE'S
	Talk to the client, talk to the servant. Go to the Guild and talk to the guy
at the window. Go into the Guild and round the back of the desk to get to the
book shelf. Then go through the door, down the stairs and talk to the guy in
the cellar. Go back to the Generale's house and talk to the servant again.
Switch on all the lights in the house, EXCEPT the right one on the dead end
landing - do the left one on that landing last. (8 lights in total). Go up the
stairs that should have appeared and talk to the boy on the roof.

PAYSUS - (probably after the visit to the Forest Spirit in Milmanna)

MONSTERS IN AMAIDAR
	Level 3 spells are useful to reach the monsters.

MUHAD - (after Tukae Cave)

(You can now the Mysterious Job Interview from Indigos - at last).

FIND THE RING
	Use a strong fighter to search as there will be an ambush after you recover
the ring. The ring's position is shown by the twinkling light just near the
small central skeleton.
LOST GIRL
	Speak to the client at the Inn. Go to Prodias and talk to Elc's landlady. Go
to the flat in the far right of Elc's building. When you return to the client
in Muhad there will be a big battle.
DESERT RAPTURE
	Battle in the desert.

MUHAD - (after the Pyramid is destroyed)

DANGEROUS MEDICINE
	There is no client to speak to. Go right in the cave and along to the end.

HOUFION - (after the fight at the Tunnel)

DELIVER THE CHARM
	The guy is in the Inner City, between the 3rd and 4th gate. Speak to him
before you open the 4th gate.

SUPER JOB

RETURN THE SEA DRAGON EGG

Go to Indigos, into the Hunter's Guild and through the small door to the right
of the window. Speak to the man in the chair and, if you meet the criteria, he
will send you to Milmanna. Meet the client. Visit Vilmer on Yagos, go somewhere
else and when you return to Yagos the submarine will be floating in the bay.
Board, go forward and then dive until the sub is shaking, then dive again.
There may be a fight. Enter the shrine and work your way through.
(The first time I played the game this job was triggered but I don't know how.
The second time, when I was writing the walktru, it wasn't triggered and I
still don't know why. I had 450 merits and was about to attack the Sky Castle
but I didn't do any of the Sealed Caves. It may relate to Diekback's Power
Units because if you go back into the sub after doing the job, you can go to
the East Shrine where Diekback is challenged. Any help on this question would
be appreciated).
