2.	Introduction
	------------



Please note that this Tactics Guide does not recap the game story or 
provide a full walkthrough for Blood Omen. It is a support tool, and 
by no means exhaustive, as there are many ways in which to play 
the game. The methods outlined here are simply designed to maximise 
players' chances of survival and their enjoyment of the game.

3.	Game Tactics
	------------



-	Keep some distance from foes when using Items and Spells as Kain
	is not impervious to attack while casting.


-	Avoid being cornered by multiple foes, as the only method of escape
	is to use an Item or Spell that instantly kills multiple foes.
	Kain cannot slip past in Wraith form.

	
-	Use the Axes HAVOC & MALICE in spinning mode against damaging
	ultra-fast foes such as the Red Demons and Vampire Hunters.
	
	
-	To boost the Magic Meter, kill several prisoners in an area and 
	keep returning to the area to drain the Blue Blood from the ghosts.


-	While there are many Items and Spells, the combination of ENERGY BANK 
	+ REPEL + BLOOD SHOWER is ideal. It offers both defence and an offence 
	that provides instant recovery.


-	Land travel in Wolf form as it is faster than the Vampire and 
	Wraith forms. 

	
-	During a Full Moon, always use the Wolf form in combat as blows 
	are instant kills against all foes except Greater Monsters. 
	
	
-	When accessing Moon Gates use a combination of the Wolf and Bat 
	forms. Race through in Wolf form and collect all useful Items while 
	ignoring foes if possible as combat will slow progess.


-	When exiting use Bat form immediately to reach the next Moon Gate 
	and repeat. It should be possible to reach at least 3 Moon Gates 
	during a Full Moon using this tactic. If intending to access the 
	Lost City make this the last target site for that cycle of visits.

4.	Item List
	---------



- ANTI-TOXIN:

  A counter-weapon when used properly. If Kain's Blood Vial is low 
  and the foes have black or green blood, use BLOOD GOUT or BLOOD 
  SHOWER and then immediately use ANTI-TOXIN to purify the blood 
  absorbed with no loss from poison.


- ENERGY BANK:

  Use sparingly, but once cast use as many spells as is necessary as 
  there is no limit for the time that Kain's Magic Meter is recharged.


- FLAY:

  Only use on Lesser Monsters, as instant kills are not guaranteed 
  against the Greater Monsters. For example, it requires 6 Flays to
  defeat a Red Demon, and while trying Kain may sustain serious 
  damage.


- FONT OF PUTRESCENCE:

  Invaluable against multiple, fast-moving opponents. Use the item on one 
  foe, and then draw other foes across the toxic pool for an instant win. 
  As the pool will remain for 10-15 seconds, make maximum use of the effect.


- HEART OF DARKNESS: 

  Use sparingly. As the Blood Vial increases, it may take 2-3 of these Items 
  to refill completely. This is not necessary - simply refill the Blood Vial 
  to 50-75% and then defeat any of the numerous foes and drain their blood
  to be at a full level.


- IMPLODE:

  Use this Item against potentially hazardous foes such as Mages or
  those with poisonous blood, as refilling Kain's Blood Vial is usually not
  possible.


- PENTALICH OF TAROT:

  Only use this instant win Item when facing multiple foes. ALWAYS save at
  least 3 of this item for use if cornered by multiple opponents with fast
  attacks.


- SLOW TIME:

  Only use against the fastest foes or multiple opponents.

5. 	Spell List
	----------



SANCTUARY -	An ideal escape Spell. Escape, recover by killing the 
		Lesser Monsters and return to the original area. 

                 
LIGHT -		Self-explanatory.

                        
ENERGY BOLT -	Only use to effect out-of-range trigger mechanisms,
		as the bolt itself is not very strong.                


REPEL -		Invaluable. Cast if intending to physically fight the
		stronger Greater Monsters and Bosses.                       


INSPIRE HATE -	Use if Kain's Blood Vial is full as combat serves no
		purpose.
               

STUN -		Effective if facing one foe.                       


INCAPACITATE -	Effective if needing to recover or facing multiple foes.
                 

CONTROL MIND -  Highly effective against human foes, particularly the
		Nemesis Soldiers.                 


BLOOD GOUT -	Effective until obtaining the superior BLOOD SHOWER.
                 

BLOOD SHOWER -  Invaluable. An instant win every time.               


SPIRIT DEATH -  Effective as instant kill against single foe.                 


LIGHTNING -	The spell of choice if outdoors and Kain's Blood Vial
		is full. Instant win.                   


SPIRIT WRACK -	As per CONTROL MIND.

	Note that there is no one way to defeat Kain's foes. These
	tactics are suggested as they are efficient and will maximise
	Kain's chances of survival.


i)	Avernus Priest

		     	Red have 4 arms and tail)
