Review by Dark Spider
"This game will make you tear your hair out in frustration."
Hi there Marvel fans. To those buying the game because they thought the movie was awesome..don't. Turn away and never look back because this game gives the movie a bad name. For those brave enough to proceed, then please do so at your own peril.
This game has a decent if unoriginal storyline. You are Blade, the Daywalker. You must prevent a group of Vampires from ressurecting the ultimate evil..blah, blah. Basically, kill anything that stands in your way. Great. Okay, so the story makes the game appear decent right? No not really.Read on...
The graphics in this game are nothing special. The areas you go through are often too dark to see any enemies coming towards you, until they are right beside you, kicking the crap outta you. Blade himself looks good, almost like the movie, but the enemies look very bad. The backgrounds are too much alike in each level for my taste.
Okay, this is where the game screws up big time. Controlling Blade is too frustrating. Running in one direction is painfully hard as Blade doesn't respond well to the controls atall. Try to go forwards, he may go left or right. This means that when surrounded by enemies you will most likely die. The fights are sort of saved by the ability to face the opponent nearest you but when there are a crowd of enemies around you, the game gets confused so you end up getting the crap kicked out of you, while you can't properl hit anyone. The only weapon of use in that situatin is Blades sword.
Playing this game is like dental surgery with no anastethic, but the surgery is more funthan this game. The graphics and controls work against each other meaning you won't se enemies until they have beaten you nearly to death, and when you do see them, you won't be able to attack properly.
You won't want to play this game again. The levels are too alike and the controls so bd that you will favor the dental surgery more than replaying this game.
Overall rating: 3
Basically, a game that was rushed to coincide the release of this movie on video and dvd. Far too few thrills to want you to buy it at all. The game would have been so much better if it wasn't rushed. Buy the game only if you are a total Blade nut. Otherwise, don't even think of it.
