"The Best FPS In My Merry World Of Gaming!'"

The TimeSplitters - an evil race dwelling outside time and space. Throughout history they have manipulated the fate of humanity. Now, roused from an ancient sleep, the TimeSplitters cross the threshold from their shadowy dimension to confront a disparate collection of heroes who must attempt to stop them...

And so you havve TimeSplitters, a FPS with no storyline, anorexic characters and a cool two player mode. Not impressed yet? Read on!

If you are playing one player you can go into the story mode, which requires you to go into a level, find the object and take it back to where you started, or have a bit of fun in the arcade having a deathmatch killing everythig in sight or playing a tactical game of KnockOut. The choice is entirely yours! Even thouh it seems that TimeSplitters was chucked together in a few minutes the gameplay is fantastically brilliant and as hectic as it gets. Playing the game is never a bore.

They do the missions in story mode in such a way that you are challenged by each one, each mission is bound to excite and thrill. Take the chemical plant level for instance, you have to come out of your hole and shoot two SWAT members on the balcony with the sniper rifle you just collected. Then after watching the second guard fall off the balcony in a dramatical bone-crunching death you turn the corner and shoot the dude lingering in the darkness and then shoot the chemical barrel that is next to five guards to blow them into high heaven, et cetera et cetera et cetera!

One of the reasons to play story modes through is to collect characters and levels to play in the wonderful multiplayer mode. To be honest with you, if you are lucky enough to own a multitap then this disc will never be out of your PS2. If not then two-player will do very nicely indeed. There are many games you can play like an anything goes deathmatch or a great game of bag tag, fill the area with a countless number of bots, and this is the course for ultimate death and destruction and ultimate happines and ultimate fun. You will discover your destiny, to play TimeSplitters 24/7 with your friends.

The graphics look like a dream, with beatiful guns, explosions and backgrounds. The game moves at a smooth sixty frames per second with absolutely no slowdown even when you have four human players and nine bots firing at each other. The characters look as neat as ever, but slightly anorexic, but to be quite honest I think they go for the misled image rather than the realistic image. The charcters range from zombies to gingerbread men, cyborgs to mummys (the egyptian tomb type), detectives to the occassional pornstar, like y'know!

Once you have completed Story mode there is a Challenge Mode which offers fast and furious action that will last hours of fun.

What you're left with is a hugely-playable FPS witha huge two-player mode that is begging for you to buy it. You won't regret unless you are brain damaged!
