Introduction This is a guide for the Gummi ship missions in Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix ONLY. This guide IS NOT compatible with the U.S. version of Kingdom Hearts. This guide will give mission objective as well as my method of completing the objective. Note that my way is definitely not the only way to do it, I just happen to end up doing it that way. I am open to suggestion as well, so e-mail me your method. This guide assumes you already know how to build Gummi ship and will not go into detail on how to build it. If you are having trouble building a Gummi ship, there is a tutorial in the game and there are FAQs out there explaining how to build it as well. Please refer to those guides for detail. I also strongly suggest you to get all the upgrade plus all the Dalmatians before you attempt these missions. It will make your day a lot easier. This guide also will not include any translation, unfortunately. There are FAQs in GameFAQs.com for translation, please use those. To avoid confusion, I will use the English name given in those translation, which is the same as the U.S. version. However, there are a few errors in the translation for mission objectives, please keep that in mind. If you find anything wrong with my explanation, e-mail me or IM me. You can find my contact information at the end of this guide. =============================================================================== II. Gummi Ship Missions (General Info) This part gives basic information on Gummi ship missions. If you already know the basic, skip this part before you bore yourself to death. == A. Score and Score Display == Generally speaking, there are 2 things that are calculated into the score: enemies/obstacles destroyed and items collected. Each enemies/obstacles/items destroyed/collected counts as one(1) point to the total score. Everything else doesn't matter. The score displayed during mission and in Gummi mission screen is in the following order: (Score) Enemy Obstacle Energy-item Shield-item Barrier-item Special-item Gummi block Blue print == B. Items Dropped == There are several items dropped by obstacles/enemies. Here's the list of items dropped in the game, what it does, and what drops it. If you don't know what the items look like, use the above list and match it to the score display. *Energy-item* Recover energy (blue bar) that's used for laser, magnet, and transform. Dropped by: blue boulder (1/2 chance). *Shield-item* Recover ship's HP (green bar). Dropped by: blue boulder (1/2 chance). *Barrier-item* Recover one barrier (BRR) created by Shield and Shield2 Gummi. Dropped by: plate looking obstacle (not confirmed). *Special-item* Recover all HP, energy, and barrier. Dropped by: large brown boulder. *Gummi Block* The building block of your ship. Dropped by: enemy ships. *Blue Print* The blue print of an enemy ship Dropped by: enemy ships. (enemy ship only drops its own blue print) =============================================================================== IV. Gummi Ship Missions (World Specific Guide) Finally, the part we all have been waiting for, the actual guide for the missions. Be warned, most of the fun in doing Gummi ship mission is actually finding out how to do it, rather than doing it. So I would strongly suggest you to do it yourself. Anyway, here goes... == A. Traverse Town == *Mission 1* Objective: Score more than 80 points to clear! Difficulty: 1 Reward: Wheel Gummi X 1 Guide: Ok, the easiest mission in all the missions I guess. I manage to achieve the requirement with my default Gummi ship the first time through. There shouldn't be any trouble if you know the basic of Gummi ship. Just remember that enemies/obstacle destroyed and items obtain through the course all contribute to your scores. *Mission 2* Objective: Start from Olympus Coliseum, Get more than 30 barriers to clear! Difficulty: 2 Reward: Fang Gummi X 1 Guide: Only obstacles give you barrier item, so you might want to equip Esuna Gummi just so you can see a little more obstacles. Other than that, this mission shouldn't be too hard. Put plenty of weapons on your ship and abuse brake, and don't forget to use Osmose Gummi. *Mission 3* Objective: Uses of Shield Gummi and Shield2 Gummi are not allowed! Start from Hollow Bastion, Score 0 point, and arrive with no damage! Difficulty: 5 Reward: Moogle blue print X 1 Guide: The big thing in this mission is your Gummi ship. Although there is no restriction on how many Gummi parts you can use, you will still want to make it as small as possible, so it will be easier to avoid obstacle. Here's what I recommend to put on your Gummi ship: any cockpit, a couple of wings, Holy Gummi, and Haste2 Gummi. You can put radar on your ship if you want to, but There's really no need to, since you will sort of memorize the course anyway. Also, remember not to put any weapon and Esuna and Osmose Gummi. You can't score a single point, so you can't and don't need to destroy any enemy or obstacle. There are 2 potential places where you might have trouble with: The first place is at the very beginning. That wall of obstacles can be passed by flying between the obstacles and the wall, either on the left side or the top side. And by wall I mean the huge stuff that you cannot destroy. The second place is at the second part of the warp. There are 4 walls of obstacles. They can be passed by flying between the obstacles and those huge indestructible boulders on the top side. == B. Wonderland == *Mission 1* Objective: Score more than 120 points to clear! Difficulty: 1 Reward: Wheel Gummi X 1 Guide: I manage to achieve the requirement with my default Gummi ship the first time through. There shouldn't be any trouble if you know the basic of Gummi ship. Just remember that enemies/obstacle destroyed and items obtain through the course all contribute to your scores. *Mission 2* Objective: Use Haste Gummi or Haste2 Gummi More than 5 times, Arrive at Wonderland with no damage! Difficulty: 2 Reward: Fang Gummi X 1 Guide: Make sure to use no more than 2 Fire Gummis so your ship doesn't fly thru most of the course while you wait for your boost to recharge. Start from either Agrabah or Halloween Town and use the warp hole so your trip will be longer. Also don't forget to equip your ship with plenty of wings, weapons, and Shield2 Gummi. *Mission 3* Objective: Start from Traverse Town, Get more than 40 Gummi blocks! Difficulty: 3 Reward: Valefor blue print X 1 Guide: Destroy everything in sight and use magnet(Drain or Osmose Gummi) when needed. == C. Olympus Coliseum == *Mission 1* Objective: Score more than 180 points to clear! Difficulty: 1 Reward: Fang Gummi X 1 Guide: I manage to achieve the requirement with my default Gummi ship the first time through. There shouldn't be any trouble if you know the basic of Gummi ship. Just remember that enemies/obstacle destroyed and items obtain through the course all contribute to your scores. *Mission 2* Objective: Your only weapon is Thundara Gummi! Start from Deep Jungle, Destroy 70 or more enemy ships! Difficulty: 3 Reward: Horn Gummi X 1 Guide: Just modify your ship so it carried the max. amount of Thundara Gummi. Make sure you alter their orientation so they shot horizontally as well as vertically. It's kind of awkward to shot with only side way laser, but 70 enemies shouldn't be too hard if you abuse brake and auto-fire. *Mission 3* Objective: Start from Traverse Town, Destroy all 140 obstacles to clear! Difficulty: 4 Reward: Yokoyoko blue print X 1 Guide: A pretty straightforward "destroy-thingy" mission. Be sure to equip Esuna Gummi since some of the obstacles are hidden. Abuse brake like no tomorrow and you should be able to destroy all the obstacles. On a side note, I think 140 is the total amount of obstacles there is between Traverse Town and Olympus Coliseum. == D. Deep Jungle == *Mission 1* Objective: Score 200 points or above to clear! Difficulty: 1 Reward: Wheel Gummi X 1 Guide: Another score-based mission. This time the requirement is a little higher. If you couldn't clear it the first time with the default Gummi ship, just make a stronger Gummi ship by adding more weapons and other various Gummi parts. *Mission 2* Objective: Start from Agrabah, Get 10 or more special items to clear! Difficulty: 2 Reward: Fang Gummi X 1 Guide: Only large boulders give special item, so concentrate on taking them down. Thunder, Thundaga, and Ultima Gummi are your best bet in taking them down. Abuse brake and use Fire Gummi if you feel the need to do so. Drain and Osmose Gummi can also help you get those special items that are too far away for you to touch. With a difficulty of 2, this mission shouldn't be too hard. *Mission 3* Objective: Using Thundaga Gummi only! Start from Wonderland, Destroy 55 or more enemy ships! Difficulty: 3 Reward: Cerberus blue print X 1 Guide: Modify your ship so it holds the max. amount of Thundaga Gummi. With that many Thundaga Gummi, it will be pretty hard to miss. Just be aware of the delay Thundaga Gummi has and you should be fine. == E. Agrabah == *Mission 1* Objective: Score 330 points or more to clear! *Mission 2* Objective: Your only weapon is Comet Gummi! Start from Wonderland, Destroy 130 enemy ships or more! Difficulty: 3 Reward: Horn Gummi X 1 Guide: Modify your ship with the max. amount of Comet Gummi. Comet Gummi uses energy, but there are plenty of special-items alone the way. So there shouldn't be any need to conserve energy. As usual, abuse brake and this mission shouldn't be too hard. *Mission 3* Objective: Use of Drain Gummi and Osmose Gummi are not allowed! Collects 130 or more Gummi blocks! Difficulty: 4 Reward: Tonberry blue print X 1 Guide: This mission shouldn't be too hard. Just built the biggest ship possible, using all 200 Gummis (if available) and you will do fine. Now might be a good time to tell you that Gummi blocks do not need to stick together. == F. Halloween Town == *Mission 1* Objective: Get 20 or more energy-items when clear! Difficulty: 3 Reward: Wheel Gummi X 1 Guide: Only blue boulder has a one half chance of dropping energy-item, so some luck is involved. I suggest you to start from Traverse Town or Wonderland and go through the warp hole, that route should give you more blue boulders to destroy. Also remember to equip Esuna Gummi so you can see those hidden obstacles. *Mission 2* Objective: Without using brake, Destroy 220 enemy ships to clear! Difficulty: 3 Reward: Caterpillar (Triangle) Gummi X 4 Guide: Make sure you use only one Fire Gummi for your engine and equip 10 weapons on your ship and you should be fine. *Mission 3* Objective: Your only weapon is Meteor Gummi! Start from Neverland, Score 550 or more points when cleared! Difficulty: 4 Reward: Ixion blue print X 1 Guide: Modify your ship with the max. amount of Meteor Gummi. Meteor Gummi uses energy, and unlike Agrabah's mission 2, there's not as many energy recovering items in this route. Some discretion in energy consumption might be needed. You don't want to run out of energy when you need them to destroy boulders that drop item. == G. Atlantica == *Mission 1* Objective: Get 10 or more shield-items when clear! Difficulty: 2 Reward: Wheel Gummi X 1 Guide: Like mission 1 for Halloween town, only blue boulder has a one half chance of dropping shield-item. Starting from Deep Jungle and go through the warp hole should be your best bet. Again, remember to equip Esuna Gummi so you can destroy the hidden obstacles as well. An annoying and uncontrollable factor in this mission (and all other Atlantica missions for that matter) is Monstro, who appears randomly. Right now I don't know if there's a way to make him stop appearing, so all I can say is pray he doesn't appear. *Mission 2* Objective: Do not destroy any obstacle, Score 240 points or higher to clear! Difficulty: 4 Reward: Caterpillar (Square) Gummi X 6 Guide: A pretty hard mission. Be sure NOT to equip Esuna Gummi, there are enough non-hidden obstacles to worry about. Start from Deep Jungle is always a good choice, as this is the longest route to Atlantica. Run through the course a few time just so you know when to stop firing to prevent yourself from accidentally destroying obstacles. Lastly, when you have reach 240 points, stop shooting and concentrate on reaching Atlantica in one piece. Also be sure to build a big Gummi ship for easy item collecting, since you might find yourself running low in energy if you use too much Drain Gummi or Osmose Gummi. Only obstacle will drop energy-item, and without them, there's no way for you to recharge energy. So you might want to restrain on using any magnet function. *Mission 3* Objective: Do not collect any items, Score 260 points or more to clear. Difficulty: 5 Reward: Pandaemonium blue print X 1 Guide: The.Hardest.Mission. (At least IMO) Practically everything in the Gummi ship mini game drops item, making this mission really hard. Knowing when to shot and when not to is key to success. If you choose to start from Deep Jungle, there should be plenty of stuff to destroy. This is also the only mission where Transform Gummi saved my day. Anyway, be sure to use a small Gummi ship at the start so you minimize the chance of picking up items by accident. Small Gummi ship means small HP though, and this will make it hard to survive the whole trip. This is where transform comes in. Let your Gummi ship transform to a ship with a lot of HP, Shield2 Gummi, Haste2 Gummi, highestspeed stat, and Full-Life Gummi once you reached the target score. That should help you get through the rest of the trip. However, Full- Life Gummi only works once for the entire trip, even if you transform. So be sure not to use up the full-life until you transformed. == H. Neverland == *Mission 1* Objective: Your only weapons are Thunder Gummi! Start from Atlantica, Destroy 150 or more enemy ships! Difficulty: 3 Reward: Goo Gummi X 1 Guide: Eight(8) Thunder Gummis and this mission is as good as done (I think...). *Mission 2* Objective: Use at least 100 Gummis, Start from Olympus Coliseum, Arrive with no damage! Difficulty: 4 Reward: Drill Gummi X 1 Guide: Well, since the only restriction is the number of Gummi and starting point, you can build whatever you want. Just be sure to make the ship small, compact and maneuverable(lots of wing) and you shouldn't have any trouble. Shield2 Gummi and Haste2 Gummi can help a lot as well. *Mission 3* Objective: Use 10 or less Gummis, Start from Olympus Coliseum, Destroy 777 obstacles! Difficulty: 5 Reward: Gilgamesh blue print X 1 Guide: Not as hard as it look. Just built a ship with the following: a cockpit (your choice), a Fire Gummi, an Esuna Gummi, and your choice of 7 weapons. Abuse brake and 777 obstacles shouldn't be too hard. == I. Hollow Bastion == *Mission 1* Objective: Your only weapons are Ultima Gummi! Start from Neverland, Destroy 130 enemy ships or more when clear! Difficulty: 4 Reward: Goo Gummi X 1 Guide: Modify your ship with the max. amount of Ultima Gummi. Ultima Gummi uses energy, so some discretion in energy consumption is needed. Abuse brake if you need to. *Mission 2* Objective: Score 1600 points or more when clear! Difficulty: 5 Reward: Angel Gummi X 2 Guide: Another "set hi-score" mission, with a really high requirement. You will need to use everything you know. Abuse brake, use auto fire, collect everything on the way, and start from Olympus Coliseum. With some luck, you should be able to get that score. *Mission 3* Objective: Use of Shield or Shield2 Gummi is prohibited! Use Haste2 Gummi 10 times! Arrive without taking any damage! Difficulty: 5 Reward: Phoenix blue print X 1 Guide: Start from Olympus Coliseum, since that's the longest route. Be sure to use a small Gummi ship with plenty of weapons. That's all the advice I can give right now. == J. End of the World == *Mission 1* Objective: Use 2 or less Gummis! Arrive with no damage and no brake! Difficulty: 5 Reward: Shoes Gummi X 2 Guide: What can I say for this mission? Since a Gummi ship has to have a cockpit and an engine, that's the only 2 things you can use. Obviously, faster engine is a better choice here since the trip will take shorter time. But you can't brake, so you might want to downgrade the engine a bit so you can maneuver through some tight spot. FYI I used the Firaga Gummi. *Mission 2* Objective: Use 5 or less Gummis! Score 350 points or more when clear! Difficulty: 5 Reward: Dark Gummi X 2 Guide: A cockpit, an engine, and 3 weapons. Those are the only things you will need for this mission. The choice of weapons is up to you. I used 3 Ultimas FYI. Have a slow engine, as always for the "destroy-everything" mission. Do your best to collect the items without the aid of Drain Gummi or Osmose Gummi, and 360-point is not a dream. *Mission 3* Objective: Score 600 points or more when clear! Difficulty: 5 Reward: Eden blue print X 1 Guide: Considering how hard the first 2 missions are, this mission is definitely a let down. Just use your best ship (with a slow engine, of course), and 600 will be a walk in the park. The only thing you might want to watch for is your energy, since there's only one place in the route with blue boulders. So try to conserve on uses of magnet-type Gummi. =============================================================================== V. Congratulation! Once you have completed all missions, go to the Gummi ship mission screen (by pressing "triangle" button when selecting the world) to see a congratulation screen given by Chip and Dale. It says something alone the line of congratulation, and you received the Bahamut blue print and Crown Gummi. After seeing that screen for the first time, you can see it again by pressing select on Gummi ship mission screen. =============================================================================== VI.
