It is generally known that "Star Ocean: Till the Ends of Time", as with it's
predecessors, has multiple short endings which following the credits.  In
the case of SO3, there are a possible nineteen (19) short endings which can
appear depending on who is in your party at the end of the game and each
characters emotional level towards Fayt.

Each playable character, including Fayt, has a "solo" ending which shows the
character's transition from the events following the final battle into their
new life.  There are an additional nine (9) "paired" endings that show Fayt
with one of the final party members.

This guide demonstrates the private actions (PAs) which should be activated
throughout the game in order to view all nineteen endings w/ only two
play-throughs.  Only the PAs of importance to this guide's goal are listed.

The PAs not involved in the goals of this guide have been removed. The PAs
which are required have been updated to reflect any changes in the U.S.
release of the game, and have been organized to make it easier to follow
for a player with the specific intent put forth by this guide.

All credit for the PA chains and their responses for achieving multiple
endings through a single play-though belongs to Edward Chang (Go Bucks!).

If you own a Datel MAX Drive you can download save games, just before the
final battle, for both the private endings paths.  Just hand out the correct
number of Tears of Aphrodite, defeat Luther and enjoy the ending.

save game versions will be uploaded with stronger characters and better
weapons to make the final battle easier.

There are two points to stress about the private actions listed here and
you're ultimate ability to view the multiple endings using this series of
events.

(1) The "correct" answer to each of the actions listed below, the addition
of other actions, or the removal of any of the actions below is extremely
unforgiving.  Make sure you select the correct option.  Do not activate any
private actions which are not listed below.  Do not remove any of the actions
listed below.

(2) There are a few automatic private actions which are activated by your
actions at certain points in the game.  Private actions that you should take
care not to activate are denoted in the lists below by a double asterisk (**),
with the correct (non-destructive) action to take.

This section lists the common private actions you should activate and their
"correct" answers, marked with an asterisk (*), for either of the two final
paths.

You will need a complete compliment (20) of "Tears of Aphrodite" at the end
of the game.  This potion will lower the emotion of a character to the rest
of the party by one, allowing you to easily jump from one ending to the next.
"Tears of Aphrodite" can be made via Compounding, at a base cost of 26 Fol,
with Fayt, Peppita and/or Gossam in your trio.

01. Peppita Rossetti
    Grantier Hotel: Automatic.
    Enter the Rossetti Troop's room in the NE corner of the Grantier Hotel.
      Humor Peppita's claim about the value of her autograph in the future.
    [*1] No, I believe you.
    [2] You're exaggerating a bit, aren't you?

02. Fight Simulator
    Grantier Hotel: after PA#01.
    Activate the fight simulator in the Grantier lobby, asking Sophia to
      join.  When she hesitate, reassure her.
    [*1] Don't worry.  I'll protect you.
    [2] I see.  You don't like handing out with me.

03. Fight Simulator, Part 2
    Grantier Hotel: after PA#02.
    After entering the fight simulator you will have the option of looking
      through tutorial information, or beginning the battle right away.

04. Fight Simulator, Part 3
    Grantier Hotel: after PA#03.
    Win the first fight simulator battle and choose to stop for the day
      when prompted.
    [1] Let's try again.
    [*2] Let's just give up.

05. Peppita's Regrets
    Evacuation Facility: after speaking with Rossetti troop, before sleeping.
    After speaking with the Rossetti Troop in their room, enter another room
      and then make your way to the east hallway.  Peppita will ask if she
      was wrong to interfere back at the hotel.
    [*1] No, that's not true.
    [2] Why couldn't you just mind your own business!?

06. Bloodtyping
    Transport Ship Herle: after attack, before leaving for escape pods.
    On the bridge of the Herle, one of the officers will ask Fayt his blood
      type.
    [1] Tell him it's type A
    [2] Tell him it's type B
    [3] Tell him it's type O
    [*4] Tell him it's type AB

07. Escape, Rossetti Troop
    Transport Ship Herle: after attack, before leaving for escape pods.
    Just before boarding an escape pod, speak with the Rossetti Troop members.

08. Prime Directive?
    Escape Pod: Automatic.
    While in the Herle escape pod, the computer will ask if you wish to
      review the Prime Directive.
    [1] Let's check it out.
    [*2] I'm sure it's okay.

09. Reason for Helping
    Kirlsa: after saving Nel, before reporting to Clair.
    Upon returning to Kirlsa, from the Kirlsa Training Facility, speak
      with Nel on the second floor of the Inn.  She will ask why you came
      to help.
    [1] I just felt like it.
    [2] I thought I should make it up to you.
    [*3] You can't expect us to abandon you!?

10. Peterny Bar
    Peterny: after arriving at Peterny, before resting at Inn.
    Visit the bar on the east side of Peterny and speak with the man
      sitting the center of the lowered floor.  He will ask if you've
      heared of a local gang.
    [*1] Yeah, I've heard of them.
    [2] No, never heard of them.

**. Teasing the Fairy
    Duggus Forest: while searching for water for the fiary.
    [**] (pick a sparkling spring to get water from)

11. Roger S. Huxley.
    Duggus Forest: while searching for Amina.
    When you rescue Roger from his cage, he will offer to help you find your
      way through the forest.
    [*1] Ask Roger to help.
    [2] Turn down his offer to help.

12. Roger, Part 2
    Surferio: after saving Amina, before defeating Crosell.
    You can find Roger, again, outside a group of houses in the Lost City of
      Surferio.  He will ask for your help in a side quest.
    [*1] Cooperate.
    [2] Refuse to cooperate.

13. Ruddle and Rumina
    Peterny: after saving Anime, before defeating Crosell.
    Returning to Peterny, from Duggus Forest, you will find Ruddle and Rumina
      in the second room of the Inn.  They will ask Fayt for directions to
      Kirlsa.
    [1] You should take the north gate.
    [2] Go east, of course.
    [*3] It's south.  Didn't you know that.
    [4] West, no question about it.

14. Ruddle and Rumina, Part 2
    Arias: after PA#13, before defeating Crosell.
    Find Ruddle and Rumina in the Arias Inn, still lost.  They will ask again
      for help in getting to Kirlsa.
    [*1] Go out  through the northwest gate.
    [2] Easiest way is through the southwest gate.
    [3] Actually, you should go east.

15. Ruddle and Rumina, Part 3
    Airyglyph: after PA#14, before defeating Crosell.
    Check the Inn at Airyglyph to find Ruddle and Rumina once again, still
      trying to find Kirlsa.  Help them one last time in getting to Kirlsa.
    [*1] You already passed Kirlsa.
    [2] You are almost to Kirlsa.

**. Exploring Aquios Castle
    Aquios: upon arriving for the first time.
    [**] (follow Nel, do not explore)

16. Clair's Concern
    Arias: after defeating troops at Bequerel Mine entrace, before getting
      copper.
    After defeating the troops outside Bequerel Mine, but before you find the
      copper ore, return to Arias and speak with Clair.  She will ask if Nel
      is being helpful.
    [*1] She's been more then useful.
    [2] I'm disappointed, to tell the truth.

17. Adray Lasbard
    Aquios: after Amina and Dion reunite, before going to Arias to begin battle.
    Speak with the Queen.  When leaving the Audience Chamber Adray will stop
      Fayt and ask to join the party.
    [*1] Yes.
    [2] No.

18. Ships in the the Sky?
    Peterny: after being asked to protect Sacred Orb, before enting Shrine of
      Kaddan.
    Speak to the "Gossip Peddler", who is sitting in the center of Peterny.
      He will ask if you wish to hear about the rumors he's heard.
    [*1] Yes, I really want to hear about it.
    [2] I think I'll pass.

19. Coming of Age
    Kirlsa: after being asked to protect Sacred Orb, before enting Shrine of
      Kaddan.
    Speak with the young girl in the house next to the Kirlsa Inn.  She will
      ask if certain rumors she heard about the battle are true.
    [1] Yes, it's true;
    [*2] No, it's not true.

20. Controlling Power
    Arias: after the battle.
    Speak with Maria, in the Arias cemetery.  She will ask Fayt about his
      recently discovered powers.
    [1] But you have the same strange power, right?
    [2] No!  I'm just a normal human being!
    [*3] You may be right, but...

**. Exploring Airyglyph Castle
    Airyglyph: upon arriving after the conference.
    [**] (follow, do not explore)
    
21. The King's Request
    Airyglyph: after the conference, before defeating Crosell.
    Speak with the king on the second floor of Airyglyph castle.  He will ask
      you to deliver a letter to Elena in Aquios.
    [*1] Okay, I'll deliver the letter.
    [2] I'm sorry, but I must refuse.

At this point the PAs you should activate differ depending on if you want
Nel & Peppita, or Albel & Roger in your party at the end of the game.  The
possible paired endings also differ depending on which path you choose to
follow.

This is a good save point to tuck away.  You can recall it later and start
working through the path you did not select earlier, saving yourself a lot
of time.

The following PA path will allow you to view the paired ending for any of
the following characters: Adray, Cliff, Mirage, Nel, Peppita, Sophia. 

22. Why Airyglyph Lost
    Peterny: after picking up Albel, before defeating Crosell.
    Speak with Albel in the West section of Peterny.  He will ask why Fayt
      believes Airyglyph lost the war.
    [*1] You lacked compassion for others.
    [2] I suppose it was bad luck.
    [3] The king should've been more ruthless.

23. Albel at Night
    Peterny: after picking up Albel, before defeating Crosell.
    Spend the night in the Peterny Inn.  Albel will awaken Fayt and ask if
      he hates him or not.
    [*1] Yes, I hate you.
    [2] Not really.

24. Cliff Taking it Easy
    Battleship Aquaelie: before resting.
    Chat with Cliff, in the East section of the Aquaelie.
    [**] (speak with Cliff in his room)

25. Sophia and the Research
    Battleship Aquaelie: before resting.
    Talk with Sophia, in the West section of the Aquaelia.  She will ask Fayt
      if he believes that Sophia's Mother knew about the research both their
      fathers were involved with.
    [1] She must have known, don't you think?
    [*2] She must not have known about it.

26. Good Nights Sleep
    Battleship Aquaelie: after resting, before going to bridge.
    After waking up speak with the crew member in the last room (SW) of the
      same wing as Fayt's room.  He will ask if Fayt slept well.
    [*1] Yes.
    [2] No.

27. Bringing Peppita Along
    Moonbase: Automatic.
    Before leaving the Moobase, Peppita will ask if she can join you.  Bring
      her along.
    [*1] Take her with you.
    [2] Don't take her.

**. Ranking Battle Team Name
    Gemity Battle Arena

28. Falling Snow
    Airyglyph: after arriving in Gemity, before going to Sphere Corporation.
    Speak with Sophia at the top of the tower at Airyglyph Castle.  She will
      reminisce about the last time she saw snow.
    [1] There's no need to worry so much, is there?
    [2] Everything happens for a reason.
    [*3] You should be a little more serious.

29. Adray Rejoins
    Surferio: Automatic, after returning from Diplo.
    Adray will forcibly rejoin the party just before leaving Surferio, on
      your way to the Ruins of Mosel.

After saving the game just before the final battle -- administer the "Tears
of Aphrodite", in the quantities listed below, to see the final paired ending
of your choice.
