"Dust the Cops or Bust the Speeders"

Introduction:
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 is a street racing game, but you must fear the cops in Hot Pursuit mode. In World Racing mode it’s all about the racing. Try Championship in World Racing mode, to see if you can be the champion. You can also try Ultimate Racer in Hot Pursuit mode, where you not only have to beat the other racers, but beat the cops as well. Jump straight to the action in quick race where you can gain NFS points to unlock cars and tracks, but you must play through Ultimate Racer and Championship Modes to unlock everything. You can even be the cop yourself! Think your fast enough to be the ultimate racer?

Graphics: 9/10
These graphics are great for the games age. There isn’t much rust on these graphics as of now. The cars look almost exactly the same as the real things. The cop cars are also great, when you flash your lights you feel like you’re in a real police chase. The tracks aren’t bad, the roads are almost perfect the landscapes are close to real, the traffic is the only down side to the graphics. It looks like boxes on wheels moving down the road because the edges are so sharp, but it’s nothing that makes the game unplayable. In fact the traffic only plays a factor if you run into it or run someone into it so it doesn’t really matter because it would look like a box anyway when you got through with it.

Gameplay: 10/10
The gameplay is unbelievable, if your afraid of the cops there is World Racing mode, if you love destroying cop cars or blowing their doors off, go to Hot Pursuit mode. If you want to be like the cops, play you’re the cop mode and bust those nice rides with speeders in them. The amount of cars to choose from is unbelievable, you can drive 49 cars, Dodge Viper’s, Ferrari’s, and Lamborghini are just to name a few. The sense of speed is great and the cops will try to bust you using spike strips and roadblocks. Be careful because if you’re not, you’ll get a speeding ticket, three of these and see you in the slammer. The selection of tracks is great too, there is definitely a place for all street racers. Tracks can have roads of different materials such as dirt or pavement and the shortcuts can mean the difference between a win and a loss.

Sound: 10/10
The cops, the music, and the engine are the things to here on this game. The engine sounds wonderful. The music is pretty good and gives you fuel to speed. The cops are unbelievable, it’s just like the real thing, cops talk to cops, and cops talk to the dispatcher. They use the cop language. Even the sound of the helicopter can make you faster, but the sirens will make you really fast.

Replay: 8/10
The length of the Championship and Ultimate Racer modes could make you want to stop playing. However, those that don’t mind starting over will have more experience and most likely drive better. The cops are another fuel, if you get mad at a sibling, just Hot Pursuit 2 and ram the cops into trees, or make the bad guys pay the price for your anger. If you just want to race more, go beat those cops and dust your opponents.

Final Recommendation:
This game is great for all racing fans, there aren’t any oval tracks, but there are fast exotic cars. The shortcuts can make this game a blast along with the cops, but people that just like straight racing can do it in World Racing mode. For those that want to be like cops there is you’re the cop mode. This game has almost everything it needs to be the best racing game on earth, for twenty dollars I suggest you buy it, I’d pay forty for it even if I only laid twenty on the counter. If you rent it chances are you’re going to want to buy it.
