***4: About the Game***
=======================

Following the premise of previous BMX games but adding a new, more
adult-oriented twist, BMX XXX puts you in the seat of a trick bike and in six
gameplay levels. Your goal is to complete all of the challenges to finish the
game. If you do well, you will gain access to several bonuses.

The instruction manual tells the player the buttons used in the game and their
functions. Some game basics are listed below.

----------------
4.1: Game Basics
----------------

Jumping

Press the A button to jump. To get maximum height and distance in a half pipe
or ramp, press and hold A to accelerate as you're approaching. Release A when
your front wheel immediately clears the top of the ramp or hill. Think of the
top of the ramp as a springboard. Practice this technique to perfect it and
watch how high you can fly.

To jump out of a halfpipe or pool ramp, hold Forward on the analog stick, or
press UP on the D pad to launch yourself out. Other ways are to grind or stall
by pressing the Y button and any direction.

***

Landing

Knowing how to land safely will save you lots of health throughouth the game.
Press Y to do a grind/stall if you're near an edge, or perform a Fast Plant
(below) to prevent yourself from crashing.

***

Maneuvering

Riding can get tricky. The rider tends to pedal forward at all times at top
speed, opposed to accelerating to reach top speed. The rider also has a
tendency to not want to stop. Before you know it, you're running into walls and
going the wrong way. Hold back on the analog stick or press down on the D pad
to slow down.

There will be times when you start to ride backwards. It's annoying. Either tap
A to jump out of it, or stop, and turn around. The D pad usually is preferred
over the Analog stick, since when it comes to performing different tricks, it's
much more precise.

***

Spins

Use the L and R triggers to perform quicker spins. Spins can also be performed
if you begin an aerial by pressing X and a direction, then holding that
direction. The longer you hold the button, the more spin. Release the D pad or
Analog stick to stop spinning.

Don't spin for too long or you'll go down hard and take damage. If you're
about to land on even ground at an askew angle, tap the appropriate trigger.
Otherwise, you're going to crash.

***

Modifiers

Press the modify button and a direction in conjunction with any aerial, grind,
etc., and you will perform a Modified Trick. Modifiers are the easiest way to
rack up maneuvers and combos. Combine two different directions to combine
Modifiers. These are good if you are targeting a point value.

***

Flatland Tricks

Flatland Tricks are executed from Manuals (press UP then DOWN) or Nose Wheelies
(press DOWN then UP) by pressing any direction and the X button. Holding down
the X button will continue the Trick until you release X again. Like the
Modifies, combining two different directions creates different moves.

You can also Modify (see 'Modifiers') your Flatland Tricks. Punch B and any
direction with the Flatland Trick to get lots of points. When a Challenge calls
for a specified combo amount, Modified Flatland Tricks are the way to go.
The faster you perform the tricks, the more you'll do. Stay balanced.

***

Aerials

Get lots of height, and be prepared to do some impressive moves. Press the
desired direction and X while in midair to perform the trick. Aerials by
themselves won't grab you a ton of points. Combine different directions on
the D-pad or Analog Stick to get different moves.

***

Grinding and Stalling

To initiate a Grind, press Y in the air and any direction before landing on an
edge. For a Stall, press the same combination of buttons, yet make certain to
not travel at such high speeds as you would for a Grind.

Grinding and Stalling your Bike on an edge is a perfect way to collect the
points or rack up the moves. Find a pool ramp with a gap in the edges to
continuously grind along. At the gap, jump, throw in a Modify or a Spin, then
land back into a Grind, and you could go on forever racking up points this
way. It's great advice when you need to reach those point totals in each Level.

Grinding is also a great way to pick up speed for those stubborn jumps that
span great distances. Find walls or objects, like benches or rails, to grind
that set you up for the leap. When losing your balance in a grind, use a Grind
Transfer. Press Y and the direction you're leaning away from to regain the
Grind, so you can compensate for the imbalance.

***

Wallrides, Taps, and Fast Plants

Contrary to what the game manual tells you, perform a Wallride by pressing up
and the A button while in a jump, not up and X. Be certain you're near a wall
when doing so. Fast Plants are the same, except press left and A, and For Wall
Taps press right and A.

These can get you out of trouble if you're landing all weird, and disastrous.
Make sure you practice these religiously, especially your Wallrides. There are
plenty of spots in levels that are just too high to reach with conventional
means. Get speed and use your Wallride to get there.

===================
***5. Characters***

The Bronx, NYC

- Grind the wire where the shoes are strung over. A Fork is located along the
last stretch, closest to the Train Tracks.

- Drain the pool by completing the Roof Switch Wall Tap Challenge. Handlebars
are in the pool.

- Once the pool is drained, make your way back to the Burnt-Out Building.
Make your way to the roof by transferring from the lower Red Ramp to the upper
Red Ramp. Get to the lower roof. Drop into the burnt out portion of the
building. Grind the fallen beam to the Wheel.

- Grind over to the Train Tracks. Continue along the tracks to the Blue
Building at the Street Intersection. Jump to the Blue Building's Fire Escape
that runs parallel with the tracks. Grind to the end and get the Cranks.

***

The Dam

- Approach the Quarter Ramp with the Eagle Statue perched on top from the
Starting Point. Grind the edge of the ramp towards the 3 wires cascading down
over the water, towards the Generator Building. Grind Transfer to the wire on
the far right. Make the gap in the middle, and retrieve a Wheel.

- From the same position at the Quarter Ramp with the Eagle Statue, jump the
concrete wall towards the Drained Pool. Grind the beam to the end. Handlebars
are reachable with a quick jump off the beam.

- After completing the Pyro's Challenge, enter the Warehouse. Grind along the
Black and Yellow Perimeter Beam. A Fork is located between the pool and the
largest opening.

- When you attempt the Spark Plug Challenge in the Generator Building, you
Grind along the very top supporting wire of the Spark Plug. Make the Gap in the
middle of the Support Rings and you will obtain a Bike Seat.

***

Sheep Hills

- From the roof of the Pink Donut Shoppe, Grind the Flagline leading to the Del
Bell. Halfway on the Flagline is a Wheel.

- After deflating the Humping Sheep, from the Del Bell roof, Grind the Flagline
leading towards the Balloon Sheep Carcasses. Grind Transfer to the right along
the Sheep and pick up the Crank.

- After giving the donuts to the Mall Security Guard, pedal to the Drainage
Ditch where the Donut is rolling around. Make the jump to grab the Wheel, high
in the air, right in front of the circular Ditch.

- As you complete the Grind Transfer from the Middle Awning in the Mall, to the
Fountain edge. You'll find a Seat halfway through your leap for the Grind
Transfer.

***

Syracuse

- Grind between the two Highway Signs. In between the leap for the Grind
Transfer is a Fork.

- Behind the Dog and Bone Brew Pub is Big Air Square. To get here, use the
Connecter that cuts through the building. Once out of the Connector, face left.
Along the wall, in the far right corner are a set of four Quarter Ramps and a
vertical Brick Divider. Transfer between the second and the third Quarter
Ramps to snag the Wheel on top of the Brick Divider.

- From the same Connector, turn right and go up the stairs, to the end of the
straightaway. You should see a gap through the wall and the Handlebars
are visible near the Green Ledge. Fall to the ground below. Use the ramp below
the Handlebars to get enough height to reach them.

- In the Abandoned Building, a Crank floats in front of an Orange Post with a
small island of concrete attached. When you enter the Abandoned Building,
stop, then face the entrance. Use the Analog stick to look up to the Bike Part.
Utilize the ramp below the Orange Post to obtain it.

***

Las Vegas

Pool Ramps.

- Go to the Middle Dock with boats on either side. Grind transfer from the
Handrail at the very end of the Dock to the rail on the Blue Yacht; they run
parallel. A Fork is located in between the dock and the yacht.

appear on the Wedding Yacht. A Wheel is in the halfpipe.

- Open the Dungeon Park by completing the 360 Backflip Challenge. Make your way
to the first cannon. Grind Transfer from the cannon out to the concrete
pedestal to obtain the Bike Seat.

***

Launch Pad 69

Hangar. Halfway in your Grind, you'll pick up a Fork.

- In the Rocket Sled Ramp, between the Thrusters and the Wind Sock, you'll
find a Wheel.

- After you explode the Rocket, get height in the First Rocket Segment Halfpipe
(closest to the entrance to Mission Control). There is a Seat in the air at
the far end of the Segment.

- Grind the Fuel Line Beam in its entirety around the Rocket. Cranks are found
on one of the corners.

***7: Walkthrough***
====================

This is a complete walkthrough covering all the missions in BMX XXX. If you
have any additional questions, please send me an email.

---------------
7.1: Bronx, NYC
---------------

Challenges:

Collect 10 cans within the time limit.

Head down to the bottom of the stairs and make a right. You'll see a bum named
Homeless Jones, who will give you a time limit to collect ten cans. Follow the
path of glowing cans and collect them all. Head back to the bum to complete
the mission.

Walltap or fastplant the three roof switches.

Go to the fire truck beside the burning building and talk to the firefighter.
Accept his quest for you to walltap or fastplant the three switches. Head left
and reach a green building. Go up the stairs onto the roof, and use the proper
techniques to go up the ramps and activate the switches.

Grind the two electric wires above the Pimp's car.

Travel to a purple car with bird droppings all over it. Talk to the grocer,
who will request that you scare the birds away. Turn right and reach a ramp in
the road, one that you'll use to hitch onto the wires. Gain a lot of speed and
make the jump, and start grinding the first wire. Now make a grind transfer to
the second wire, and complete the challenge.

Get the poodle, score 20,000 points, then introduce the dogs.

Go to the lower street and talk to a city employee. Fetch the poodle from the
upper street, right side, and gain 20,000 points while riding with it. Do lots
of flatland combos to get the points. Go back to the gardner and your task
is finished.

Use the leafblower to jump start Homeless Jones's cardboard plane.

Find Homeless Jones again. You need to find the leafblower. Head to the Upper
Street, and cross the street heading to the motel. Hit the ramp and you'll
receive the leafblower. Go back to Homeless Jones and watch a hilarious
cutscene.

Destroy the other three food carts.

Find the evil Wiener Vendor, who wants you to destroy the other three wiener
carts by jumping into their umbrellas. Head down the sidewalk going away from
the downhill street and find the first vendor. Continue to an alley by the
Scores signs. Ride down the alley to the Lower Street and find another cart.
Go back to the start of the level and find the final cart.

Collect 5 coins on the way to the park. Bribe the bouncer in front of Scores.

Go back to the Scores alley and talk to the bouncer. Head out of the alley and
follow the coins you have to get. When you get all the coins, go back to the
alley and complete the mission.

Ghost ride your bike into the fruit booter.

You need to talk to the rider in the skatepark to the left of the gate. Your
goal is to ghost ride into the roller blader. He'll be riding in a circle, so
ghost ride at him to complete the challenge.

Transfer over the rider to pull the dead end gap.

Ride down the Upper Street to the dead end. In between two ramps, there will be
a rider for you to talk to. He wants you to transfer over him. You need to gain
lots of speed and run into the ramp with a trick. That way, you can gain some
speed to transfer over the gap.

Pull a wallride to tailwhip anywhere.

Reach a blue dumpster on the upper street. You need to hit this with some speed
and do a catwalk up to the roof. A rider will tell you to do a wallride to
tailwhip. Use the billboards and wallride it at an angle. Jump at the precise
moment to pull a tailwhip and finish the challenge.

Skitch any police car anywhere. Hang on for at least 5 seconds.

The police cars are everywhere throughout the level. Ride up to a moving car,
and hold on (skitch) to it for five seconds.

Get 40 feet of air in the pool.

The pool must be drained using the Street Cleaner before you can do this. You
need to get some air in the pool to complete the challenge. Simply keep jumping
near the bottom to get more air.

Grind the 5 pair of sneakers.

There is a set of stairs leading to the train tracks near the dirt jumps. As
you ascend the stairs, jump over the first landing rail and catch the wire,
follow this all the way to the opposite side of the level, jumping to adjoining
wires as necessary. All the sneakers are hanging on the wire.

Land a 5 combo trick.

It's not very hard to do a five-trick combo. You should do a modifier off a
manual trick, and following it up with some other modifiers. It can be done
anywhere in the level.

Deliver the hookers to Fifi's Motel.

There are five hookers scattered around the level. Talk to one, and you'll need
to find the other four. Two are on Lower Street: one near the stairs, and one
by the entrance to the Scores alley. Three are on Upper Street: one at the dead
end gap, one near a ramp next to the vendor, and one next to Fifi's Motel. Find
all five to complete the challenge.

Collect all 45 coins in one run.

Coins are scattered around the level. You must have completed the Scores
bouncer challenge first. Look everywhere for all forty-five coins in the level.
In later levels, completing these challenges will give you a bonus video.

Find and pull all 20 gaps in the level.

There are twenty gaps in each level. A gap is basically an opening or space
between two ramps or structures anywhere in a level. You need to cross every
gap in a level to complete the challenge. You get a Scores video upon
completion of the challenge.

Score 150,000 in one run.

This is just like it sounds, just do a variety of tricks to get the goal of
150,000 points. Try not to fall.

Score 300,000 in one run.

This is just like it sounds, just do a variety of tricks to get the goal of
300,000 points. Try not to fall.

Score 600,000 in one run.

This is just like it sounds, just do a variety of tricks to get the goal of
600,000 points. Try not to fall. You can gain access to The Dam by completing
at least ten of the twenty challenges above.

------------
7.2: The Dam
------------

Challenges:

Collect 4 TNT Sticks and bring them to the Pyro.

You'll start near a warehouse, where there is a pyro you need to talk to. From
there, go right and jump up the dirt ramp to get the hovering dynamite sticks.
Search around the warehouse to find all four dynamite sticks and return to the
pyro to complete the challenge. He will start an explosion and change the level
for your future challenges.

Grind past the 4 switches to drain the lake.

You need to head to the warehouse waterfront and meet with the Lake Burnout.
Your mission is to grind past the four switches around the lake to drain it.
Look towards th water to see a wood dock and a concrete wall. Grind the wall's
left side to hit two switches. From there, grind the wires from the wood dock
and reach the side of the outermost wall with the two other switches.

The Dam has cracks! Run into any 2 cracks to patch it up.

Find the Engineer by the cracked dam wall. He'll tell you to patch up two
of the three cracks in the dam. Go hit the ramps with some speed and simply
touch the cracks to patch them.

Grind across the very top of the generator's giant spark plug.

Go into the Generator Building and reach a squatting technician by the furnace.
You need to grind the spark plug. Head up to the third floor and all the way
to the top of the building. Find a small ramp leading to a wire, which you'll
have to grind, then transfer to a wire perpendicular to it.

Relieve the constipated Construction Worker.

Go to the lavatories, where a man wants you to help him out. What you'll have
to do is carry his cell and score 30,000 points with it. You can't crash, or
you'll drop the box. Do some flatland tricks and modifiers, or anything else
that has a low crashing chance.

Wallride the TWO canal switches inside the generator building.

On your way to the Generator Room, you'll meet two guys standing next to a
black limousine. You need to wallride the switches inside the building, which
are on the second floor (not the first floor like the game says). Go up the
building and ride until you come to the metal grate ramp. Wallride it up to the
first switch. Find the other switch similarly.

Manual 150 feet on the skinny Dam wall.

Jump off the dam onto a platform with ramps and electrical structures. Talk to
the rider and head up to the dam wall. There will be two arrows signaling how
far you'll have to manual.

Talk to the rider under the bungee jumper.

From the above challenge, you'll find a statue with an eagle and two
spotlights. Jump up to the spotlights and talk to the rider. You'll need to
ride into the bungee jumper and knock him off the statue. Hit the ramp under
the statue and grind to the right, onto the platform. There is a ramp behind
you that will boost you to the rider with the right speed and timing.

Destory 3 oxygen tanks. Ghost ride bike into them to be cool.

Go back to the warehouse and enter it through an opening in the back. Talk to
the rider and destroy the three tanks using ghost ride. The first is in front
of you. Jump up the wood to the second one. Head to the center of the building
to find the final tank.

Do flatland tricks for 5 seconds nonstop.

You just have to hold on to a flatland trick for five seconds. This can be
accomplished anywhere. First, do a Manual, and pull a flatland trick, holding
the button to stay in the trick.

Jump over the moving crane arm.

The crane is to the right side of the dirt path. You need to jump over the
crane arm, and wait for it to swing into place. If you mistime your jump and
hit the crane, you'll have to wait for it again.

Wallride over the entire row of lavatories.

Go to the row of lavatory cells. You need to wallride over all of them. Get a
burst of speed by hitting the jump at an angle and hit the small kicker on the
first cell. You'll lunge forward, hopefully over all the huts.

Gap over the bridge leading to the generator building.

Make your way over to the bridge, located in the drainage canal you drained
before. Gain some speed and jump into the halfpipe with a trick. Clear the gap
by going more horizontally.

Land a 10 trick combo.

Just like last time, but you'll have to get ten tricks in a row. I suggest the
same strategy as last time, just be careful on your timing and try not to
break the combo.

Deliver the Gassy Construction Workers to the huts.

Go next to the Roach Coach at the beginning of the dam and talk to the worker.
You must deliver all of them to the lavatories. From the first worker, go
behind the warehouse to find the second. The third is on the outermost dam
wall, and the forth is to the right of the dirt bowl with the crane. The final
one is in front of the Generator Building. Bring all five and finish.

Collect all 45 lunchboxes in one run.

Similar to Level 1, where you had to collect the coins, you need to collect 45
lunch pails scattered throughout the level. Search everywhere you can to find
them. You'll get bonus videos on later collection challenges.

Find and pull all 20 gaps in the level.

There are twenty gaps in total, all of which you must pull to complete the
challenge. Make sure you've done all the missions that change the layout of the
course before attempting this. You'll get a reward for a successful attempt.

Score 150,000 in one run.

This is just like it sounds, just do a variety of tricks to get the goal of
600,000 points. Try not to fall.

Score 300,000 in one run.

This is just like it sounds, just do a variety of tricks to get the goal of
600,000 points. Try not to fall.

Score 600,000 in one run.

This is just like it sounds, just do a variety of tricks to get the goal of
600,000 points. Try not to fall. You can gain access to Rampage Skatepark,
where you can test out your skills. Do well, and you can go to Sheep Hills.

----------------
7.3: Sheep Hills
----------------

Challenges:

Pull 3 different flatland tricks for the donuts.

Turn around from your spawning place and see a pink donut shop. Talk to the
right counter boy. Perform three different flatland tricks for the kid. It
doesn't matter what you do, but after you've gotten the donuts, go to the mall
and give them to the security guard.

Score 20,000 points in the drainage ditch without crashing.

Go to the flower bed to the right side of the park. Continue to the ledge and
meet with a guy in a robe by the JB spray paint. You must score 20,000 points
in the bowl with the pink donut, near the mall. If you get hit by the donut or
crash, you'll have to start over.

Collect the 4 tethers and bring them back to Little Bo Peep.

By the mall, head to the balloon of Little Bo Peep and find her in person under
it. Shee needs you to bring her the 4 tethers scattered around the trails. The
first one is by a float with a striped star; grind the wood ramp to get it.
Go up to the top of the donut shop and grind the American flag marquee. Grind
another one on the gas station roof to get another tether. Find some gaps near
the flower bed, and jump those to get the remaining tethers.

Score 30,000 points while dragging around the Bully.

Head to the rider to the left of the mall entrance. Talk to him, and drag
around the orange hooded guy by running into him. Get some points in the park
with the bully, and you'll get a roman candle for your efforts to use in a
later challenge.

Use the roman candle to shoot down the humping sheep.

Grab the roman candle from the quest above, and go to the mall Security Guard.
You need to shoot down a sheep, which are circling the restaurant. Use the
analog stick to aim and fire with the A button. Make sure to be standing close
enough so you can hit the sheep.

Run into and break the 4 security cameras around the mall.

Talk to the shoplifter on the right side inside the mall. You'll need to break
the four security cameras, which are on top of each set of stairs. Turn left
and see the first camera, and wallride up to break it. Another will be behind
you; use the same strategy to break it. Continue down towards the fountain and
go up the other staircase to break the last two cameras.

Grind transfer between the middle Mall awning and the fountain edge.

Go to the rider hanging at the mall. You need to grind transfer between the
awning and the fountain. Go up the stairs and wallride to the blue platform
above the mall. Jump into the red awning. You need to grind the awning, jump
off, and grind the fountain bowl's edge. The timing and speed need to be
perfect to succeed.

Jump off the flag float and pull a 540 Superman.

Go to the striped star float to the left of the mall. Talk to the rider, who
challenges you to pull off a 540 superman. Go back to the where you start the
level and superman off the flag float. You need to hit the float edge with
enough speed and angle to do this.

Shoot out any 4 letters from the store sign.

You will need the roman candle do this mission. So head over to the dirt
jumps and grab it. Coincidentally, the store sign reading "SCHULINT" is here
aswell. Get close to the sign to shoot at the letters. Shooting the first,
third, sixth, and last letters makes most sense.

Hit the ATM rest switch directly above the ATM.

Head to the fountain pool inside the mall. The ATM is located to the side of
the stairs with a giant red button indicating the reset switch. Simply gain
a little speed and wallride up into the button.

Pull a 100 foot wallride anywhere.

The best place to perfom this manuveur is in the dumpster area behind the
mall, as you can hit a certain ramp on the wall and drop down a lot of distance
to gain the 100 feet needed.

Pull a 900 anywhere.

Go to the bowl. Use the upper part to gain up speed and height Transfer to
the deep end on your 900 spin. You have a greater distance to fall, thus more
time to spin.

Do the Roof Drop Gap and live to tell about it.

Go to the top of the donut stand as explained in previous challenges. You will
need to take the top left corner's wire towards the mall. Make one transfer
before reaching a concrete slab going about 45 degrees upward. Follow the
glowing red line and jump over the gap.

Land a 15 trick combo.

Just like previous times, but you'll have to get fifteen tricks in a row. I
suggest the same strategy as last time, just be careful on your timing and try
not to break the combo.

Deliver the Midget Clowns to the clown car.

The clowns are scattered around the level. Speak to one, and you'll have to get
all of them. The first is right next to the clown car. Under the tree that is
across the street from the gas station is another. The third is in the back
corner of the skatepark, below the bowl. By the restaurant tables in the mall
is the fourth, and the last one is at the upper level of the mall.

Collect all 45 donuts in one run.

Similar to Level 1, where you had to collect the coins, you need to collect 45
donuts scattered throughout the whole level.

Challenges:

Grind the 4 support wires holding the TV antenna.

Head to the upper street of the park, and reach the road-gate house. A security
guard will tell you to grind the support wires holding the TV antenna. Make
your way back to the Boy Band Buses. Approach the concrete wall the buses face,
then Grind towards the First Support Wire. Grind Transfer from the wall to the
Wire. The next wire you should grind is near the snowblocked overpass in the
Highway. Use the snow to launch yourself on the lower ledge. Next use the
Highway Side Wallramp to reach the Highway Wall's edge. Grind the edge towards
the Dog and Bone Brew Pub. Turn the corner and ride up the stairs. Approach the
railing at the end of the straightaway, and leap over to the third Wire. Drop
to the Brick Spine below and Grind to the Fourth Support Wire.

Run into the hanging Pineapple mascot to get him down.

Head back to the parkside and towards where you found the security guard. To
your right you will find, on the sidewalk, a Pineapple fan. Help him out. Go
into the section of rounded halfpipe behind the statue the mascot is hanging
from. Gain some air and some speed, and when you're confident in your jump,
leap forward into the top of the statue to free the mascot.

Score 5,000,000 points in a hurry to shake the cops.

So the cops are coming since you broke the statue. Evade them by doing some
tricks and gaining a lot of points. You don't have to get 5 million; 1,000,000
is enough to complete the mission.

Collect 4 detonator caps and deliver them to the abandoned building.

The Paddywagon is located on the city-side in the farthest corner to the
left. You need to get the detonator caps to the abandoned building. Turn away
from the wagon to the lower street. On the staircase down, you will find two
detonators, the first accessible by a grind, the second by a wallride. Go back
to the staircase from the TV antenna mission for another one. Go up the stairs
and go past the U-turn, then jump at the dead end rail for the last one.

Ride over 4 steaming manholes.

The Weatherman is located on the parkside near the boy band bus. There are 4
manholes that need to be found: two are on the upper street that the News van
is located on, and two are located on the bottom street with the snow plows.
Get all of them to complete this challenge.

Knock over the 3 street performers' tip cups.

You can find the Street Performer to the right of the steps that lead you onto
the first store strip. Begin by heading down the strip and hugging the right
wall. Come to a red and blue platform with a silver guy on it. Knock over his
tip cup, then take a left and go after the second guy in front of the circular
Make another left to enter the second strip of stores and the last performer.

Collect 3 patches of yellow snow and bring them to the Salesman.

Go up the stairs leading to the first store strip and continue to the salesman.
There are patches of noticable circles of yellow snow. Go into the 2nd strip
and hug the left side. Get the patch and keep heading straight. Now hug right
and go to the end for the second strip. Cross over to the first strip and go
back to the salesman. On your way there, you'll find the last patch.

Grind transfer between the highway signs and make it to the other side.

This rider is on the first stores strip, standing near a connection tunnel
between strips one and two. The Grind Transfer can be done on either of the two
sets of highway signs. Get a running leap and grind the platform of the road
sign that sits over the highway street, then grind transfer to the second sign.

Pull any flatland trick on the thin highway wall.

This rider is on the parkside. From the spawn of the level, go down the
staircase to the left and you'll run into him at the landing. The thin wall is
directly in front of you when you spawn. Just jump up onto it and heading down
to the left, manual or nose wheelie, then do any flatland trick.

Pull a double tailwhip over any spine inside the demolished building.

Do the Mascot mission before doing this one. You will find an opening in the
left wall over where the destruction was. Follow this hall to enter the
building. The rider is to the right of the first spindle you encounter. Try
and hit the closest orange topped ramp before hitting the spine, this will
double the air you get when you go for the double tailwhip.

Score 10,000 points while dragging each member of the Boy Band.

The Boy Band members, Kelly, T.J., Chuck F., and Joey Joe Joe, are located
around the boy band bus, 2 are located on top of the buses. Talk to one to
begin the beating session, you will need to talk to each of them and beat each
of them up to win the challenge.

Ghost ride your bike into the 3 shopping center Security Guards.

These guards can be found on the city area. The first 2 are jumbled together
near the police cars and paddywagon. After you handle these two, start your
way down the left side of the 2nd strip of stores. You will find the last one.

Destroy the visiting team's 'Go Pineapples' rally banner.

The Rally Banner is the purple monstrosity decorated with a goofy, smiling
pineapple hanging up near the Dog and Bone Brew Pub. Wallride the long wall
near the Hot Dog Vendor opposite of the Banner, and launch yourself over to
demolish it.

Land a 20 trick combo.

Just like previous times, but you'll have to get twenty tricks in a row. I
suggest the same strategy as last time, just be careful on your timing and try
not to break the combo.

Deliver the Dinosaur Mascots to the Boy Band's bus.

The mascots are scattered around the level. Once you speak to one of them you
will need to get all 5 to the boy band's bus. The first is by the statue the
Pineapple was hung up to. Another is in the center of the store strip. A third
is near the silver man that you knocked the cup from. Next is standing next to
the circular steps. The last one stands next to a gap transfer by the antenna.

Challenges:

Grind across the giant inflated Showgirl's boobs.

Turn around from where you spawn, and head forward to find two man standing in
front of an air balloon of a woman. Go back to the starting place and continue
over to the other side. Head back up to the start and use the ramp to jump up
and grind either the left or right poles that hold the wires connected to the
balloons bra.

Pull a 360 backflip using the boob jump.

Ride to the fat kid by the car trap and talk to him. Go down the gap made up of
the Showgirls pieces. Jump over the indy track railing and give your self
enough distance to gain some speed up to the balloon. Hit the left side and
jump. You'll need to transfer this gap, not just pull the trick.

Find the claim check and pick up the cake.

The castle will be opened up and the next challenge will be available. Head
towards the docks. The Best Man can be found at the wedding on the boat. From
the Wedding Yacht, go past the Grassy Halfpipes to building with ramps going up
to the roof. Ride up to the roof and grind one of edges towards the gap at the
entrance. Make the Gap then return to the roof. You'll see a chef standing next
to the Cake. Get the Cake and return to the Wedding Yacht.

Grind the guillotine blade to silence the Best Man.

Talk to the Cocktail Waitress on the boardwalk right next to the docks. Head
into the castle. There is a half-pipe to your right, so jump into things and
start getting some air in it. The guillotine is located right next to the
halfpipe in the very center. Get enough air to grind the guillotine lever.

Pull a 900 spin during the half pipe drop transfer.

This rider is located on the roof of the Scores Bar; go around to the back of
Scores and head up either of the two ramps to get to the rider. You will need
to transfer from either of these to their even lower adjoining halfpipes and
pull a 900 while doing so. Gain some air and speed before you attempt it.

Find and grind the dungeon cage release switch.

The S&M Lover is found in the castle's second half-pipe inward, behind a cage
door. The release switch is to the left of the cage. Gain some speed in the
half-bowl you're in and then jump up to grind the pipe to the left of the cage.
Continue grinding this until the very end. Here you will run into a black
release switch.

Pull a manual all the way through the tunnel.

Head onto the dock/boardwalk to the left of the boat vessels and to the
right of the Scores Bar. Go straight and jump onto the indy race track. To your
right is a tunnel. you will need to grind all the way from the entrance to the
exit on the otherside, all while avoiding the racing cars.

Collect the sloshed Best Man's head and score 40,000 points.

This rider is in the castle. You can find them standing to the left of the
halfpipe with Best Man's head in it. Jump into the half pipe to find the Best
Man's head in the middle of it. Then do your best to hit the 40,000 point
mark in the minute you've been given.

Drag the Lounge Singer around the level and score 25,000 points.

You can find the Lounge Singer spitting out crappy tunes by the alcohol in
the Scores Bar. As soon as you grab onto him, all you will have to do is score
25,000 measly points. This can be accomplished by breaking through the Scores
Bar glass and using the half-pipes to their utmost potential. Mark it up.

Jump over the visiting Tour Group, guide and all.

The tour group is at the left corner of the Indy Car Shop. Head down towards
the grassy halfpipe, but immediately turn around before you get there. Head
back towards the spawn's ramp, and instead of jumping it, grind its left side.
When you reach the end, your bike will automatically clear the Tour Group.

Pull a 500 foot grind anywhere in the level.

You can use the same grind that you did to release the caged S&M guy to grind
your way to the boats, and then continuously circle them.

Break the 6 glass awnings in the grassy half pipe.

To beat this you pretty much need to able to hit big air. There are 6 of
the awnings located high above the half-pipes, 3 on each side, 1 on each ramp.
Keep your speed up at all times, and you should be able to hit each one of
these without much effort.

Deliver the Scores Strippers to the bar at Scores Vegas.

The strippers are scattered around the level, once you speak to one of them
you will need to get all 5 to the Scores Bar located in the Scores building.
Through the glass wall, next to the Scores Bar is the first. In the grass, to
the left of the entrance is the second. In the middle of the grassy half-pipe
is another. Next to the Palm Tree at the start is another To the left of the
entrance of the Chef's pools is the fifth.

Land a 25 trick combo.

Just like previous times, but you'll have to get fifteen tricks in a row. I
suggest the same strategy as last time, just be careful on your timing and try
not to break the combo.

Grind transfer from the yacht rail to the Deuces billboard sign.

The yacht is located to the left of main boardwalk. It is blue, jump
the railing to gain access to it. Get a pedaling start and jump then grind the
left railing of the boat, at the last possible second, jump and grind to the
billboard sign.

Collect all 45 donuts in one run.

Similar to Level 1, where you had to collect the coins, you need to collect 45
donuts scattered throughout the whole level. Search everywhere you can to find
them. You can gain a scores video if you are successful.

Challenges:

Grind the 'on' switch to activate the rocket sled.

To find the Rocket Mechanic, head towards the Space Shuttle to your right. On
the way, you'll see a half-pipe that contains stairs leading to a platform.
To find the switch, go down the right set of stairs and turn left. You need to
grind the staircase's right railing, then jump and grind the switch protuding
from the grated floor.

Collide with both flying mechanics.

Head into the Hanger after you have completed the rocket sled mission. The
Flying Mechanic can be found in the back corner, hovering near a half bowl.
Get yourself some decent speed and hit one of the pipes this guy is floating
around. Grind a ledge and a railing. Grind into each of the mechanics to
finish the mission and gain a Jet Pack.

Get up to and simply touch the hanging satellite.

Go back to the half-pipe that is now cleared of it's previous rocket-sled
inhabitant. To the Space Shuttle side of it, you will find a man gazing at
something. Immediatly jump into the half-pipe and get to work. All you need to
do is get up to the satellite and grind it and your job is done.

Hit the LAUNCH button and deliver the 3 Space Monkeys.

This is located in the Control Center that the Satellite mission unlocked. To
activate the LAUNCH button, you just have to run into it by using the wooden
ramp. Get the three monkeys from the cage. The first is located just under the
cage, The second is at the end of the long quarter pipe, and the third is on
the red-white structure. Now head to the shuttle's elevator.

Pull 6 different Flatland Tricks to excite the monkeys.

Head to the exit of the military base. It's to the right of the shuttle on
the edge of the level near a camper. Perform 6 DIFFERENT flatland tricks for
the monkeys. You can perform these anywhere on the level to release the
diapered monkeys from their pens.

Pull a 360 nothing over the alien autopsy.

The scientist can be found by following the ramps in the hanger up to an
autopsy room. This room is also accesible through the outside by a grated
ramp near the monkey pens. Get some speed from the two ramps on either side of
the alien, then jump the alien with a 360 Nothing. The analog stick worked
better for me to pull this off.

Grind into the 4 golden elevated launch sirens.

You can find this rider at the dirt jumps to the left of the monkey pens.
Talk to him. Head up the ramp toward the Hanger as if you were going to the
autopsy room. Stop and look to the right of the entrance for the first siren.
There are 3 seperate wires leading to each of the other 3 sirens. Grind all of
them and finish the mission.

Grind open the 4 fuel valves that circle the rocket.

This rider is to the left of the shuttle. To get up to the observation deck,
you will need to transfer from the lower ramp to the right ramp, and then grind
the rail over. Look to the right of the rider to see an air catcher. Beyond it
is a brass rail that leads to the rocket. Jump and grind this and follow it
all the way around the rocket to snage all of the fuel valves.

Pull the 'unauthorized gap' between hangar halfpipes.

You can find this mental giant circling around inside the hanger. See what
the rider wants and be on with your game. Hop into the half-pipe directly in
front of you. Work it until you can easily see yourself clearing the wooden
barricade covering the other half-pipes side and hurdle yourself into it.

Spear 5 aliens with the probe.

Go to the ramp that you would normally take to reach the observation deck. Go
right this time and spear the five aliens with the probe. The first is next to
the probe. Another is on the observation deck. The third is down behind the
rocket and the fourth is in front of the rocket. The last one is by the hangar.
Go to the Russian to complete the challenge.

Pull three rocket air tricks underneath the rocket.

Head to the shuttle, there are two bowls connected by a hallway containing
a spine. Drop in. The tricks must be done on the spine underneath the rocket
in between the two bowls. Three rocket airs will do, nothing fancy actually.
One more challenge, down and out.

Grind free the orange-jumpsuited Space Monkeys.

The cage holding the Space Monkeys can be found to the left of the start,
above the holding pen for the diapered monkeys. The red cage is dangling above
the diapered monkey pens inbetween two hanging half-pipes, and you'll need to
grind transfer from the red & white structure. Grind across the cage to release
the Space Monkeys.

Jump over 3 barrels in the hangar.

Inside the hangar, on along the back wall, there are barrels falling from
the upper level, rolling through a small passageway. Any three barrels will do,
just simply bunnyhop three individual rolling barrels.

Land a 30 trick combo.

Jump into a Manual and perform Flatland tricks until you reach 30. Perform them
quite fast, so you fill in as many tricks as momentum runs out. Try Modifying
some to rack up even more tricks in your combo. You could even grind into a
Manual to boost the amount of tricks even more.

Deliver the Diapered Monkeys to the Hippie Protestor.

The monkeys are scattered around the monkey pens, once you speak to one of
them you will need to get all 5 to the Hippie located in the Scores building.
The first two are inside and outside of the pens, the third one is on your way
to the autopsy room, and the last two are by the platform that leads to the
autopsy room entrance.

Collect all 45 bananas in one run.

Similar to Level 1, where you had to collect the coins, you need to collect 45
bananas scattered throughout the level. Search everywhere you can to find
them. You can gain a scores video if you are successful.

Find and pull all 20 gaps in the level.

There are twenty gaps in total, all of which you must pull to complete the
challenge. Make sure you've done all the missions that change the layout of the
course before attempting this. You'll get a reward for a successful attempt.

all challenges!

-----------------
7.7: Competitions
-----------------

There are two competitions in the game: one after level 2, and one after level
4. These require you to compete against other riders and get the best score
out of all. In order to get first place, you must pull off many tricks without
falling (which decreases your score).

***

To win a competition, you need:

- 150,000 points for first competition
- 200,000 points for second competition
- 12 or more tricks
- 8-10 modifier tricks
- 6 Grinds
- 4 Stalls
- 3 Walltaps/Fastplants
- 4 Wallrides
- 3 Manuals or Nose Manuals
- 2 Flatland Tricks

Your first fall will cost you the most points.

***

To all who need help with winning the competitions, here is a very informative
guide, written and submitted by ecnelitsep, who is also the author of the
Bike Parts list FAQ on www.gamefaqs.com. I've found it to work much better than
any other strategy out there. Many thanks to ecnelitsep!

***

Here is part one of ecnelitsep's guide.

"A few things to know before going on with this. I will be referring
to these a few times through the guide.

"First is the "30k points trick". While approaching any ramp, hold the
Spin button. Soon as you launch, you're going to start spinning.
Perform any trick, and as soon as you can, perform another. Modify
the 2nd trick, and hold this spin for as long as possible. When
you're close enough to the ramp, hit the stall button to Stall, _NOT_
grind. You can then modify the stall, and just hold that position
until you're just about to fall. When you land, you will have a 4
trick combo, 30k+ points, and have wasted a lot of time.

"Second is the "Manual Combo Trick". This is pretty simple, just go
into a manual, and wiggle the joystick in every direction while
mashing the trick button. You will rip through manual tricks fairly
rapidly, depending on the Manual Skill Level of your rider. You
should easily be able to get off in-between 10-15 tricks before losing
your momentum and having to get out of the manual. This won't land
you many points, but you'll have a nice large combo on your hands,
which will make the judges happy.

"Now that that's clear, on with the guide.

"Part the 1st) Rampage Skate Park.

"The first thing you want to do is turn around 180 degrees. There will
be a ramp behind you, go up it, perform a trick if you want (I usually
don't), and you'll have picked up a lot of speed when you land. To
your right and up a little there will be a rail on the wall, jump up
onto this and grind it. Eventually, this rail will stop, so transfer
to the next rail that starts right where the first one ended. Keep
this up, and eventually this one will end also. Now, there will be
some lights off to your left, transfer off your rail, and grind the
light until you see yet MORE rails back to your right. Hop on them.
Below you, you should start to make out the section of the track with
vending machines. You want to get off the rail before you get above
those vending machines, or you WILL crash. *MAKE SURE YOU MODIFY
    EVERY GRIND!*.

"You should have a nice big combo on your hands and tons of points.

"Ride past the vending machines (stay on the upper platform) and you
will notice... *gasp*... you're back to where you started! NOW you
can ride down into the direction you were facing at the beginning of
the stage. See, there IS method to my madness! You will encounter
two ramps back to back, perform a "30k Points Trick" on each of the
two ramps, using a different trick each time. Now right in front of
you will be a third ramp on a wall with a ton of other ramps. Perform
YET ANOTHER trick for 30k on that one, and you will be in very good
    shape.

"Everyone still following me? There is a lot of detail here, but it is
    really *VERY* simple.

"Now you should have about maybe :30- :45 seconds left on the timer.
Ride around and do a few tricks here and there. You won't be able to
do many, but do what you can. If you made it this far w/o falling,
you've probably passed the stage already.

"When you have as close to :00 time left as possible (I start mine at
:05), get up into a manual and start doing the Manual Combo Trick".
So long as you don't fall or run out of momentum, your run won't end,
so mash out as many positions as you can, and when you're done, just
exit the manual and the stage will end, :20 seconds late ;-0. So long
as you didn't fall, you modified everything, and your combos were
mighty, you will have a score of 92+. Now just do it all again, and
the 1st place video is yours.

"To Summarize: Grind whatever you have to to get around the whole
building, being sure to get off BEFORE the vending machines. Land
three huge tricks, perform as many small ones as you have time for,
and with :05 seconds left, start a manual and ride it as long as you
can. I don't know about you, but I like the summarized version A LOT
    better.

***

Here is part two of ecnelitsep's guide.

"Part the 2nd) UGP Roots Jam.

"An important thing to point out is that this stage is completely
surrounded by security fences, and in one section, a chain link fence.
These will be important later on, so learn exact routes to get to
them, learn which direction you're most comfortable grinding them in,
and most of all, get good at transfers, because you don't want to
    fall. Now, ON WITH IT!

"There really isn't too much to say here, hopefully it won't be as
detailed as Part the 1st. You start on a platform, right in front of
you is a ramp going down. Press the UP button on your joystick (NOT
the Ride button, you don't want to jump) and you will go down the ramp
and pick up some speed. Get into a manual as fast as you can, and do
the "Manual Combo Trick". This place is pretty crowded with ramps, so
you're going to have to maneuver yourself, but that just makes it
easier to mash out tricks. Try to get between 10 - 15, it really
    isn't hard.

"As soon as you're out of speed, just ride around and pick three ramps
that you can stall on, and do three "30k Points Tricks". It doesn't
matter which ramps you choose, but there are plenty here. VERY
simple. You should once again have between :30 and :45 seconds left,
so do some assorted tricks. You want to bang out as many as possible,
    but it won't be many.

"With about :10 seconds left, ride to that rail that I pointed out
earlier, and grind into the sunset. MODIFY EVERY GRIND! It is
absolutely essential that you do. Once again, this stage will NOT
finish until your both wheels are on hard ground, so transfer for as
long as you possibly can. When you're done, you will have hopefully a
10 - 15 trick combo, huge points, a late finish by about :20 seconds,
and a score that is 90+. Now this is clearly the harder of the two
stages, so you could see other riders with scores as high as 94.
Don't worry, they NEVER do that well on their second run, and average
score in the high 80s. Now all you have to do, is do all that over
again. See, that wasn't so bad, now was it?

"To Summarize: Ride off your ramp and do a manual for as long as
possible. Pick three ramps, do three huge tricks. Ride around doing
assorted things for points until there are a few seconds left. Grind
the chain link fence and the security fence for as long as you can,
and get off when you can't hold a grind any longer.

"There ya have it. Tried and true, a 90% effective (barring human
error, and unlucky competetor's scores) method to getting a passing
score, and the 1st place videos. Good luck!"

***8: Custom Riders***
======================

A feature of the game is how you can make your own riders to use in the game.
Unfortunately, there are only four basic kinds of custom players.

Rider 1
Excels in: Speed
Lacks in: Spin

Rider 2
Excels in: Balance
Lacks in: Speed

Rider 3
Excels in: Manual
Lacks in: Wallride

Rider 4
Excels in: Air
Lacks in: Speed

***

There are several ways you can customize your custom rider. In the Rider Editor
menu, you can give him/her a name and change his/her aspects.

1. Rider Name
Choose the name of your rider.

2. Style
Edit the looks and clothes of the rider.

3. Size
Change the rider's weight.

4. Gender
Change your rider's gender.

That's it; you've finished your custom rider. Make sure to save your changes
on a memory card.
