"The problem is it not only sucks compared to Tony Hawk 4, but its not that good as its own game"

When I heard of this game, I thought, ''nude women....'' because being the somewhat one tracked 16 year old guy that I am, strange things pop up into my head. So of course when I see it in the rental store 3 months later, I rented it.

To sum up my personal bias; I've never played a BMX game. All I've played is Tony Hawk 3 and 4. The only adults humor type game that I've played with similar humor to BMXXXX would have to be Conkers Bad Fur Day... although the two are fundamentally different in terms of gameplay and presentation, they are they same in terms of trying to add a certain flavor to their respecitive genres.

BMX XXX plays horrible. The animation itself is slow and the controls are relatively unresponsive. Their are notable glitches in the game, and the amount effort put into actual gameplay mechanics is questionable, mainly due to the part that it just seems so dated. Especially if one were to play Tony Hawk 3 or 4.

BMX XXX has missions and no set time on the levels themselves. However, the missions are repetetive and unimaginitive. If missions are repeated, with names and locations changed, but the core action behind is the same, this is not good. Unless the basic idea of the action is fun. But in BMX XXX it's either ''take this person here'' or ''get this many points in X time so you can watch Y do something somewhat nasty.''

The ''somewhat nasty'' part is what sort of infuriates me. Think about it; I heard this game was gonna play out like some Animal House of American Pie movie (thats what PSM said based on their initial preview) however, their really isn't a plot (get cash to watch videos of girls dancing) and the problem; THESE VIDEOS CAN BE ATTAINED USING A CHEAT. Yes, that's right: I said ''screw this lame, slow, uninspired gameplay, I'm gonna look up cheats.'' And so I did. And I got the videos. And they were entertaining but nothing too special. What would on expect? (heh heh... well... it IS called BMX XXX) but this stuff is basically stuff they can show on TV. Hell, they can show worse stuff on TV.

So, basically, is this an adult game? NO. why? well, if one defines ''adult'' as ''adult humor'' which is actually really ''teenage bathroom humor.'' Second off; No nudity (although I heard that in the X Box and Gamecube versions you can make riders topless) is in the game, and the jokes they make are so lame and cliche. Come on! my friends and I make nastier, funnier jokes at the lunch table!

Take the so called ''Adult content'' away: BMX doesn't even play well. It plays slower, less smooth and less responsive than other extreme sports games out there, and the mission variety is dumb.

Unforunetly, this game will not push the limits or buttons that it expected to. At least Conkers Bad Furday had really fun, well thought out, levels and gameplay variety and actual thought put behind it (the saving private ryan and the matrix spoof was awesome). BMX XXX is the worse extreme sports of it's 'generation' on the PS2. Tony Hawk 3 is better than this, and I don't want to go into detail about how Tony Hawk 4 simply wastes BMX XXX in a puddle of it's own waste.
