"One hell of a hard Biohazard Game!"
The Resident Evil game series has started on the playstation more than 5 years ago and has evolved onto the Playstation 2 and GameCube, and now, the latest Online installment to the series has arrived.
The following review is based on playing the game offline.
Gameplay - 9/10
The gameplay in this game certainly is not the best in the game, but it comes pretty close to the gameplay in Resident Evil on the gamecube. The game, I can say, is highly realistic and very hard due to the fact that zombies can follow you. Although this is so, it still is fun to play. The fact that you can hide from zombies adds to this, along with the fact that each character which would be playable has their own special feature. Another pro about the gameplay is that you can trade items with partners as well as co-operate. This game also, as mentioned above, has a very realistic feel to it-- the fact that your character shows their weakness after becoming infected and the fact that, once you get infected a certain amount, a partner must help you stand up. The controls in this game are among the worst in the resident evil series, don't get me wrong, this game is great, but now the controls have definately changed but have regressed from the past resident evil game controls.
Story - --/10
There isn't really much to say about the story, other than the fact that the game starts in a bar where zombies begin abducting the place and that you have to run for your life.
Graphics - 10/10
The graphics in this game are superb, they are among the best on the ps2. Capcom has made a big improvement in graphics since Code veronica X and even Dead Aim!
Sound - 10/10
The Voices in this game are quite well done and better than most older resident evil games, the zombies now sound more realistic and you can even hear yourself stepping on glass when there's broken glass on the floor! You can even hear people screaming and zombies from a far distance.
Replayability - 10/10
With Eight characters to choose from, why wouldn't this game be replayable? The fact that it's online adds to this.
Worth Buying or Renting?
I would definately recommend this for a buy, unless you aren't into the whole Survival horror, I would suggest renting this game before buying it. That being said, almost everyone, regardless of flavour in gaming, will want to buy this game.
