In this section I'll give you a breakdown of the ways to play this addicting
game. There is three different modes to play in, Get a Life, Two-player mini-
games and finally The Sims.

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

                                     Get a Life!

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
It is in this mode you'll unlock doo-dads for the other play modes. You can
unlock the mini-games, or random items that make the game a bit more fun. In
this mode you move from level to level, completing the goals then moving out.
You must play this mode before you can play the other modes of the game.

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

                              Two-player Mini-games

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
These are unlocked in the get a life mode, and they range from well, umm..to
tell the truth I haven't played any of them because I don't have anyone to play
with ;_; if you've got something to say, give me a jingle (happybudda311 (at)
aol (dot) com).

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

                                    The Sims

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
This is the uber-addictive game that started it all, screw with stuff, the
more families you build the more friends and parties you can do, fun stuff.
You must at least "start a life" for this mode to open. You don't even have to
save, or you can use a cheat code.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
In this section I'll give you the break down of all the crap you can do to make
your sim look pirty. You also decide the personality of your sim through
custom or a pre-set zodiac sign.

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

                                        Body

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
This is where you decide what kind of clothes your sim will wear. They don't
have nearly enough different styles of clothing, and most of it is kinda
preppie, which isn't something I'm into. I usually create a guy with a black
T-shirt, with white long sleeve under, plaid plants, plain black shorts and a
black backwards hat.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                     Skin Type
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This will choose what color skin your sim will have. There is plenty of
different choices, from near white, tan, black, though it'd be cool to have
purple colored sims...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    Body Type
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This section is where you pick your sims body type, how fat or skinny, and how
tall or short he is. There is no one to change this after you create the sim
so pick wisely what you want.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    Upper Body
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here you can pick from a good deal of upper body clothing, from short sleeves
to long sleeves, hooded sweat shirts, or no shirt at all, it's all here. I
usually go with long sleeved shirt, with t-shirt on top of it. In the next
section you will pick the color of the shirt by fiddling with the bars on the
screen.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    Lower Body
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Like upper body, there are tons of choices to choose from for your sims pants.
You can go with shorts, long pants, or thongs and boxers. The next section
will allow you to change the color of the clothing by fiddling with the bars on
the screen.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                   Shoe Style
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There isn't too many different shoe styles for you sim, you can choose from
loafer to boat, it really doesn't matter, you can't zoom in to get a good
enough look at them anyway. The next section allows you to change the color of
the shoe by fiddling with the bars on the screen.

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

                                       Head

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
This is important, as you'll be looking at this a lot. Sometimes you get a
really ugly sim, so you need to get the vanity mirror, it helps with the ugly
ones.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    Face Style
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Try to pick a good head, this may be a bit hard with females though. If you
pick an ugly sim you'll have to look at it the whole time, which can be rather
unpleasant.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                     Hair/Hat
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In this section you'll pick what kind of hair your sim will have, or if he/she
wears a hat. In the next section you can decide what color the hair/hat is by
fiddling with the different bars on the screen.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                         Facial Hair (Male Sims only)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Facial hair can make a man look well distinguished and older more mature.
Though sometimes it's just goofy looking or ugly. Cycle through the different
styles to see if any fit well on your sims face.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                           Make Up (Female Sims only)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As in real life, females without make up are generally pretty ugly. You can
also use the make up to make your sim a Kabuki Girl (Oriental traditional
dancing woman).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                           Variations (Kid Sims only)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is some really messed up stuff you can do to your kids, like give them
face paint. Now this is where you can make your sim kid a loser, or the
"biggest hunk/babe" in all of "Sim Elementary".

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    Eye Color
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This will decide what color the eyes of your sim are. It's not really that
important, as any picture you see of your sim will likely be too small to
notice. Unless you're playing on a 50 inch plasma screen, in which case, I
hate you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    Accessories
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is in this section where you will add accessories to your sims face.
Anything from sunglasses to prescription glasses, as well as earrings can be
found in this section of the creation process.

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

                                         Done

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Hitting this will finish up the look of the sim step in the creation process,
and move you on to the next section of the process, the personality of the sim.
Choose wisely the next steps or you will be stuck forever, or at least until
aliens abduct your sim.

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

                                       Personal

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
It is in this section that you'll pick what kind of sim you have, below is the
listing of what each of the traits will mean, as well as a list of pre-set
personalities (Zodiac signs). Choose wisely as the only way to alter these is
to be abducted (look through a telescope and hope you get lucky).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                     Messy-Neat
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have a high rating here your sim will pick up after themselves. It's
not that big of a thing though, you can hire a maid instead which is pretty
cheap and she'll do all the cleaning. You can also buy the monkey butler,
which costs a bit more, but is better for after party cleaning. Unless you can
do enough stuff to keep him busy for that $20.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                   Shy-Outgoing
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I always pick shy, that way the social bar drops less and you don't need to
socialize your sim as much. Doing this also saves me the much needed trait
points I could use for something else. I'm pretty sure if you have a shy sim,
his disposition with other people will also rise much slower.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    Lazy-Active
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You'll want to put a lot of points into the this, the more you have the easier
it is for your sim to get into bed, and learn new things, also his energy bar
drops slower. However, if you plan to have a stay-at-home sim, this doesn't
matter at all. Save the points for something better.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                  Serious-Playful
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The only thing this will alter is what your sim likes to play with. If you
choose playful, then there is more things you can buy to appease your sim,
which is easier, as you have less thinking to do. Though a serious sim is
cheaper to keep happy, but it's harder to do it. So it's your choice mate.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                     Mean-Nice
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a measure of how nice your sim is to other sims. It affects how well
you get along with others while doing a group activity (Eating, playing pool,
hot tubbing, etc). I believe this also affects how quickly the disposition for
other sims rises, so I usually put quite a few points into this.

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

                                   Star Signs

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Your Star sign will pick what kind of personality your sim has, without you
having to custom do it. I usually just pick my sign (virgo), so my sim
resembles me I guess. I will include the dates of the signs, so you can pick
yours if you didn't know it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                           Aries (march 21 - April 19)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Messy 5/10 Neat,
 Shy 8/10 Outgoing
 Lazy 6/10 Active
 Serious 3/10 Playful
 Mean 3/10 Nice

Aries are middle of the road for most traits, though they are more outgoing
then others, they tend to be serious and mean.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                            Taurus( April 20 - May 20)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Messy 5/10 Neat
 Shy 5/10 Outgoing
 Lazy 3/10 Active
 Serious 8/10 Playful
 Mean 4/10 Nice

Taurus's are middle of the road like Aries, they tend to be much more playful
then others.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                             Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Messy 4/10 Neat
 Shy 7/10 Outgoing
 Lazy 8/10 Active
 Serious 3/10 Playful
 Mean 3/10 Nice

Gemini tend to be more outgoing and active then most, but are often more
serious, mean and messy then other signs.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                            Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Messy 6/10 Neat
 Shy 3/10 Outgoing
 Lazy 6/10 Active
 Serious 4/10 Playful
 Mean 6/10 Nice

Average stats across the board cancers are the closest to the middle of the
road as it gets with zodiac signs.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                            Leo (July 23 - August 22)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Messy 4/10 Neat
 Shy 10/10 Outgoing
 Lazy 4/10 Active
 Serious 4/10 Playful
 Mean 3/10 Nice

Very outgoing, though they lack in all the other qualities that make a good
sim. Not my first choice for a sim personality.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                        Virgo (August 23rd - September 22)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Messy 9/10 Neat
 Shy 2/10 Outgoing
 Lazy 6/10 Active
 Serious 3/10 Playful
 Mean 5/10 Nice

This is my sign, and for me it's true, but for my little brother who's also a
virgo, it's nearly the opposite. We tend to be neat, but shy, we can be
active, if the modd is right, and if you're nice to us, we'll be nice to you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                         Libra (September 23 - October 22)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Messy 2/10 Neat
 Shy 8/10 Outgoing
 Lazy 2/10 Active
 Serious 6/10 Playful
 Mean 7/10 Nice

Not very neat, but certainly outgoing and nice, Libra's are the type of people
you'd want for a friend, but not a roommate.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                      Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Messy 6/10 Neat
 Shy 5/10 Outgoing
 Lazy 8/10 Active
 Serious 3/10 Playful
 Mean 3/10 Nice

Active people Scorpio's are, but everything else is kind of in the middle,
though they tend to be serious, and mean.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                   Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Messy 2/10 Neat
 Shy 3/10 Outgoing
 Lazy 9/10 Active
 Serious 7/10 Playful
 Mean 4/10 Nice

Another messy group you wouldn't want as a room mate, they're active and
playful, but they leave crap everywhere.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                     Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Messy 7/10 Neat
 Shy 4/10 Outgoing
 Lazy 1/10 Active
 Serious 8/10 Playful
 Mean 5/10 Nice

Here's room mate material, They can pick up after themselves but they like to
sleep in, which makes them ideal for the stay-at-home sim. You'd think
somebody with the same zodiac sign as Jesus would be nicer and a bit more
active. I guess Jesus was really lazy...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                      Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Messy 4/10 Neat
 Shy 4/10 Outgoing
 Lazy 7/10 Active
 Serious 6/10 Playful
 Mean 6/10 Nice

This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius, age of Aquarius!!.. Not sure what
the hell that song was about, but Aquarius are a good choice for your sim, as
they are pretty well rounded, but more active so they'll learn things.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                        Pisces (Febuary 19 - March 20)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Messy 5/10 Neat
 Shy 3/10 Outgoing
 Lazy 7/10 Active
 Serious 3/10 Playful
 Mean 7/10 Nice

Pisces make for good sims, they have high marks in the areas that count, and
low marks in ones that don't, good for a room mate or your personal sim.

                                     S K I L L S

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
In this section I'll be telling you all about the skills, what they effect,
which are important and how to build them. Now there is three really important
ones, and three not so important skills. The important ones are Cooking,
Mechanical, and Creativity, the non-important ones are Body, Charisma and
Logic. The non-important ones only show up for jobs, where as the important
ones will affect your home life. With all sims, you'll start with none of
these filled out even one point. So go to the miscellaneous section in the buy
mode and find some things to buff these up so you won't have such a tough time
climbing the corporate ladder.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                       Cooking
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cooking measures how will you can cook. If you have no cooking points and you
try to cook something, chances are good you will burn down the house. Also the
higher you're cooking, the less likely fires are to occur, and your sims that
you cook for will be more fulfilled by meals. The only way to raise cooking is
to read a book. The only problem with cooking is that it isn't needed for any
job, so it's good for stay-at-home sims to learn to do.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    Mechanical
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your mechanical skill will determine how well you can fix things. If something
breaks you can fix it, which may take a few seconds or a few minutes depending
on the thing that has broken and the mech skill, or you can call a repair man,
which costs $100, so do it yourself, it's cheaper. Also lots of the jobs
require you to have at least a few mech points and for the first two levels in
get a life mode, you'll need at least one. So hit the books as that's one of
the ways to earn mech points, the other is to buy the woodworking bench. Now
if you have a high mech skill you can use the woodworking bench to make gnomes
for $100 a pop (If your mech skill is maxed out). These gnomes take about a
minute to make each, so you can really rake in the cash.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    Creativity
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Creativity is more important for throwing awesome parties and for making money
from home. There is tons of ways to get creativity points, and almost all of
the jobs want you to have some. The ways to get it can be from playing an
instrument (piano or guitar), or making a piece of art (sculpture or painting).
If you have maxed creativity points you can play an instrument to get the green
plusses jumping (you need these for good parties) or you can create a piece of
art for up to $1,500 (with the artists block). Creativity is a necessity to
any stay-at-home sim.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                        Body
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now for the un-important three, these are only good for job skills, they don't
have any apparent affect to home life. Body is a measure of how much you can
bench or how long you can run, stuff like that. Nearly all professions require
you to have some body points, and they can be earned a few ways, first off, you
have exercise equipment, or you can go swimming in a pool. This skill is not
necessary for the stay-at-home sim.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                     Charisma
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's another un-important thing, this is really only used by a few
professions, but those professions need a TON of it. So if you're a musician,
movie star or Thief, you'll want to invest in a mirror, as that's the only way
to build this skill. Like the other two non-important skills, this is not
necessary for stay-at-home sims.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                       Logic
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Logic is only important in the later levels of most of the professions, though
not for the stay-at-home sim. The only two ways you can get it are by looking
through a telescope, or playing chess. I recommend playing chess, as the
telescope can get you abducted by aliens, which will screw up your personality
traits. Sometimes they'll make them better, other times worse, it's Russian
roulette, but I don't like to take the chance.

In this section I'll be giving you the break down of all the crap you need to
do to unlock things in this game. You'll know how to do it, how to keep the
other sim happy and productive. As well as some ways to quickly get the goals
done so you can move on or unlock the bonus.

One important thing to note is that if your co-sim starts the level with a job,
chances are good that you will fail if they get fired, so look after the co-sim
as well.

                                 Money from Mom

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Co-Sim: Mom
Speed Bonus: Guitar if you finish in 1 day or less (24 sim hours)

Here's the quick way to do it, read a book, mechanical first, then 2 cooking
(until you get 1 and 2 points respectively), now fix the TV. Next run over and
fix dinner, after that go read the paper, find a job, don't get picky, you can
change it in the next level, so pick the first one. Then go into buy mode and
sell stuff until you have $800. The level will clear, you'll "owe" your mom
however much money you made from the sell, she'll take all that money from your
"Bank Account" but you won't owe her past that.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                     Fix T.V.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you first wake up, you'll want to read a mechanical book, then fix the TV
if you're not going to steal from your mother, she'll need to be in a good mood
to lend you the money.

Reward: Vanity Table

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    Cook dinner
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You must start dinner without starting a fire, so you'll need at least one
cooking point, two works better, and you'll need the point later, so why not?
Read the books, go to the fridge and select "Serve Dinner". The more points
you have, the better fed your mom will be and the more likely she'll be to loan
you the money.

Reward: Aroma master

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    Get a Job
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is easy, go to the paper, and pick the first one you see. It doesn't
matter as you can pick and choose what you really want to do in the next level.
For now concentrate on speed, you want that guitar. You must do this after
fixing the TV and cooking a meal, or you're mom will just yell at you and you
will not take the job.

Reward: Treadmill

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                               Get $800 to move out
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just sell $800 worth of crap, the grandfather clock is worth enough I believe,
that's it. Or you could become buddies with your mother and ask her, but that
takes too long. It makes a difference between getting that guitar, and getting
nothing, so sell some crap.

Reward: Unlock the mini game "The Museum"

Now you'll move to Dudley's "Party Pad" Which has been thoroughly trashed, have
fun!

                                   Reality Bites

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Co- Sim: None, but dudley pops in and bugs you A LOT.
Speed Bonus: Coat of arms in (?) days

The best way to do this is quickly, try to get all the crap out of the way,
pick a job you actually want, and do all the cleaning and fixing on the first
day, this way your sim will be happier when he/she goes to work. Even if you
have to miss work, fix the stuff and clean the place up first.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                               Fix the Broken Crap
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Read a book to get an extra mech point to accelerate the process of this. You
have to fix the TV, the Computer and the Expresso machine, I believe you don't
have to unclog the toilet, but you'll eventually need to use it, so why not do
it now?

Reward: Handy man service

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                Clean up the crap
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This should be the first thing you do, it'll take a bit of time, but just
ignore everything else until this is done, even if someone comes to the door,
just ignore them, the coat of arms is hard to get.

Reward: Maid service

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                               Upgrade the house
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Make the house worth around $36,000, to see how much it's at go to buy mode,
see that little thermometer thing on the right side, at the top will be the
money the house is worth. I usually get a better toilet, and better kitchen
stuff, as well as a pinball machine. I sell the TV cause it doesn't do diddly
squat for the house value or the fun rating as well as the couch, and buy a
nice "Deiter" couch.

Reward: Bug Zapper

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Get Promoted to level 2 and 3
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just do what you need to do to get to the next level, see the next section to
find out what that is, or press the career button on the D-Pad and fill in the
yellow bars for skills and make sure your friends are in the green. Then make
sure your sim goes to work with his happiness bar 2 into the green, he should
then get promoted.

Reward: Level 2: Beverage Cooler
        Level 3: Teppan yaki Table

When you finish all this good stuff dudley will come around and be like "OMG
OMG WTF j00 r teh c00lzorz plz come live wit me!!!?!!?!?oen. But you soon find
out, dudley is a slob and a loser so you must move out ASAP.

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

                                  Party Animals

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Co-Sim: Dudley
Speed Bonus: Head in a jar (8 days)

Note: Buy a Security system, as there is a burglar or two in the level.

The quickest way to do this, is to find a person to move out with first, then
make friends with them while getting promoted, then each time you get a bonus
buy some stuff. Try to get Dudley promoted, it's not that hard all you need to
do is send him to work in a good mood. Also make sure Dudley doesn't get
fired, if he does, you must start over. I'm not sure if you can kill Dudley
off though, it'd be interesting to try. Anyways, throw a raging party then ask
the selected sim to move out. It's difficult, but it can be done.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                Upgrade the House
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You need to get the house worth up to around $54,000. To see how much your
house is worth go to buy mode and look the top-right hand side of the screen.
I usually buy a Piano, Pool Table and Tapan Yaki table, as they are all good
for parties. A pool is also a nice addition.

Reward: Tree Swing

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                          Get Promoted to levels 4 & 5
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Improve what needs improvement, select the career screen on the D-pad and fill
in the yellow bar, and make sure your friends are in the green. Now making
friends is'nt hard, all you have to do is have Dudley make the friends, you
don't actually have to know them, it's just family friends.

Reward: Level 4: Strip Poker Table
        Level 5: Libidex Erotic Spa

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Move Out with a "Roomie" at a raging party
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The reason I have this before the raging party goal is because it's best to
have a friend you plan to move in with all ready. I usually pick betty, so
have dudley call betty and invite her over, and introduce you too. Then work
up a relationship, when it's at around 70-80 throw the party. It's help to be
Uber close to the person, that way you can sleep in the same bed and not have
to buy a second one, and build a second bedroom.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Throw a Raging party
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First get everything ready, you need Pizza, Hamburgers Tepan Yaki, and some
home cooked food. Next make sure the house is clean, after that go to the
phone and select "Throw Party" after you do that, call everyone else you know
and invite them over.

Too be declared a "Raging Party" the number of "green Pluses" has to be a shit-
load. Good food and conversation do this well. The hot tub really gets this
going as does a pool-table. Now if you can play in instrument really well,
play it for everyone, and the pluses will go on.

Make sure you throw the party early, take the day off work to get everything
ready, if you throw it early people will be less tired, and stay longer. Now
when the screen "You've thrown a raging party" pops up, make a bee-line to the
person you want to move out with.

Reward: "The Motel" mini-game

Note: If you see Bobo-the bum, (he first appears here, though he'll be in every
level afterwards) go up and greet and feed him, and you'll unlock "The Park"
mini-game.

Now it's time to pick up a lady... or a man depending on the gender of your
character.

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

                                   Hot To Trot

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Co-sim: Betty (or whoever you picked to be your room mate)
Speed Bonus: Jukebox (8 days)

When you come into this level, Betty will not have a job, now you can do one of
two things, get her a job, or let her be a "Stay-at home" artist. Basically
you build up her creativity and Mech, and build Gnomes and Paint pictures all
day. You can make much more money, and you'll have a sim to mess around with
all the time. Plus if you plan on throwing a party, your sim can go to work
and Betty can do all the preparation.

Note: Buy a security system, because there is a burglar or two in this level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                Upgrade the house
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You need to get the house worth to $49,000-$50,000 to get this goal. You need
to do this before you can throw any parties. I usually get a Tepan Yaki table,
a nice stereo, some decent art and a second hot tub. I usually also get a few
new kitchen appliances and some extra chairs. As well as better toilets and
two Sonic showers.

Reward: Able to throw parties

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                         Get Promoted to levels 6 & 7
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Improve what needs improvement, select the career screen on the D-pad and fill
in the yellow bar, and make sure your friends are in the green. Now making
friends isn't hard, all you have to do is have your co-sim make the friends,
you don't actually have to know them, it's just family friends.

Reward: Sonic Shower
        Artist's Block

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                            Score with a party guest
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First you need to meet a "Party Girl" I usually pick Debbie, then get to know
her really well, like 80s-90s with a heart. She's a sucker for compliments,
she'll almost always take them. You'll also have to flirt when you have a high
disposition with here to get the heart instead of a friend smiley face thing.
Anyway, get that up, throw a raging party then select "Try and Score". It
isn't what you think, your sim will propose and they'll get married, then
you'll move into a new house.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Throw a raging party

Now
when the screen "You've thrown a raging party" pops up, make a bee-line to the
person you want to score with

Reward: Club Abih mini-game

                                Who Loves ya Baby?

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

Co-Sim: Whoever you picked, I usually pick Debbie
Speed Bonus: Bearskin rug (8 days)

When you get this level you have two rooms full of crap and an empty house, so
you'll need to spend some time moving things, and re-building sections of the
house, a bigger kitchen is defiantly better. I make my spouse a "stay-at-home"
sim. Basically I build up her creativity and Mech and have her sculpt, paint
and make gnomes all day. She also takes care of the kids when my sim goes to
work.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                            Get Promoted to levels 8 & 9
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Improve what needs improvement, select the career screen on the D-pad and fill
in the yellow bar, and make sure your friends are in the green. Now making
friends isn't hard, all you have to do is have Debbie make the friends, you
don't actually have to know them, it's just family friends.

Rewards: Maid and Handyman's house mini-games
Two Swimming pools ("Elle Belle" and "I Claudius")

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Raise 2 kids & Keep them in school
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kids appear periodically, after enough naturing care they turn into kids. They
are pretty easy to care for after they're no longer babies. What you'll need
to do to keep them in school, is make sure they go happy, and they study a lot.
Have them read books and study on the computer to raise their grades, they'll
need to have at least A- averages to get into prep school (a goal in the next
level).

Rewards: Sand Box
         Sprinkler

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                               Upgrade your house
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While buying crap for your kids to play with, you'll probably get this, if you
don't, well buy more crap. Simple as that, the goal here is to reach $74,000
in the house worth. To check it, go to buy mode and look in the upper right
corner. I usually get all the good stuff for the kids, such as the sand box,
sprinkler and the funinator deluxe. I also buy a pool table and a hot tub, as
well as a pool.

Well that's it, one more level to go, and you can finally just play for fun
with all the stuff (if you unlocked it that is). This next level is all about
retirement.

                                 The Last Simolen

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Co-Sim: Your Wife and Kids
Speed Bonus: A movie, though you really don't need to have a certain time to
see it.

Use your wife to get a cooking of 10, and a ton of money, while your main sim
goes to work and pays the bills, get the 20,000 and kids at prep school first,
the party should be the last thing you do.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                             Get Promoted to level 10
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Improve what needs improvement, select the career screen on the D-pad and fill
in the yellow bar, and make sure your friends are in the green. Now making
friends isn't hard, all you have to do is have Debbie make the friends, you
don't actually have to know them, it's just family friends.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Send your kids to prep school
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Both of your kids must go, and both of them must have at least an A- average.
You need to have $1,500 per child to send them there though. It helps if you
started this task last level, but if not, just make sure those kids work their
asses off studying.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                          Save $20,000 for retirement
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With your wife a stay-at-home sim, making tons of money and you raking in the
dough, this task should be easy. Just make sure you don't spend it. Though
you need to spend a little cash to set up for the raging party.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                               Throw a Raging party
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First get everything ready, you need Pizza, Hamburgers Tepan Yaki, and some
home cooked food, you should have full cook points by now. Next make sure the
house is clean, after that go to the phone and select "Throw Party" after you
do that, call everyone else you know and invite them over.

Too be declared a "Raging Party" the number of "green Pluses" has to be a shit-

In this section I'll tell you all the super dooper cool two player levels you
unlocked in Get a Life. This is a good mode to shut up your younger sibling
who is complaining "I WANNA PLAY!!! It's MY GAME!! BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!". So tell
them if they win, they can play, if you win, you keep playing until you're
done.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                               The Handyman's House
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The handy man will assign you to a side of his house, and you clean it. Simple
enough, you can get more points if his kid is happy. From time to time,
various things will come in and mess the place up. Just have the cleanest side
of the house to win.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    The Museum
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Get more money then your opponent. Basically you become friends with people
then beg them for money, whoever has the most at the end wins the game.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                   The Frat House
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Make three friends before your opponent, you can spread rumors about him to
hurt his chances if you wish. The winner gets to party in the hot tub, with
all the people they made friends with.

                                   Taylor's Place
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fall in love with more people the your opponent. However guests will not be in
love with both players at the same time. The best way to do this is with
compliments, then flirt when you're at 70-80 disposition with the person.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                     Club Abhi
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Same as Taylor's place, fall in love with more people. However guests won't be
in love with both at the same time. The best way to do this is with
compliments, then flirt when you're at 70-80 disposition with the person.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                  The Maid's House
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The maid will assign you to a side of his house, and you clean it. Simple
enough, you can get more points if her kid is happy. From time to time,
various things will come in and mess the place up. Just have the cleanest side
of the house to win.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                      The Park
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                      The Motel
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have the most people at your party at the end of the time, you can send a few
guests to crash your opponents party if you wish. The best way to do this is
send three party people to crash your opponents, then talk it up with the rest
of the people.

                                  T H E S I M S

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
This is the game that started it all, here you can just play the basic game,
but the first thing you need to do is just start "a life" then this will become
playable.

After that, you'll need to create your sim, or use the pre-set sims. You can
also just jump into a house in progress, where the designers have already got
everything set-up for you and you just run the house. If you'd rather use pre-
created sims then you'll want to pick an empty lot or house, or evict a family.
From there you put in the furniture you want and/or all the building additions
you'll be making.

The next step is to enjoy yourself, there isn't really a goal or a point to
this part of the game except to kill time and have fun.

                                      J O B S

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

This is my "little" section on all the jobs you can pick from, included is all
the base info you'd need to get promoted. I personally always pick musician,
because with all the creativity you have, playing instruments at a party
usually puts everyone in a good mood. At the end there is a little section I
included called "Working with Employment" for the Stay at home sim, which
really helps in the level "Who Loves Ya Baby". Remember the car will always
come an hour before you work, but will leave at the time you're set to work, so
you don't need to freak out when the car comes.

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

                                     Musician

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
I always pick this job, because the creativity is good for painting to make
money, or entertaining other sims with some music. It pays just as well as the
other jobs, and is decently easy to pass through.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                  Subway Musician
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pay: $90
Work Time: 3:00PM-8:00PM
Promotion requirements
  No Skill points
  Friends needed: 0
  Bonus: $240

You play music in the subway for the commuters going to real jobs, you get a
little bit of change from music lovers or people that just want you to stop
until the train comes.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    Piano Tuner
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pay: $120
Work Time: 9:00AM-4:00PM
Promotion requirements
  2 Creativity needed
  Friends needed: 0
  Bonus: $380

Now you tune pianos for people that think it's piano that's making their music
sound like shit, oh well just stand there and act like you're working, maybe

                                 Stay-at-home Sim

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
What is it?: A Stay-at-home sim does just that, they stay at home and make
money from there.

Why do that?: Because you don't need a maid, and there's much more money to be
had, as well as you can raise kids, throw parties and make friends much easier.

Cool, What do I do?: Well you need skill in the following areas: Cooking, Mech
and Creativity. Then buy a Wood working bench, Canvas, and Artist block. Then
sculpt and paint all day. A Gnome is worth up to $100 and takes seconds to
make, a painting can be worth $200-300 and takes a few minutes, and a Sculpture
can be worth $1,500 and takes all day for your sim to make.

Pretty good idea isn't it?

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Don't forget to water plants or they will die. As long as they aren't dead the
increase the beauty of the room. Lack of flowers will drop your room rating as
you leave the house to go to work, which make the sim less happy. If watering
is to time-consuming, you can always hire a gardener, or buy Major Domo (monkey
butler).

From paintings to random crap, this stuff just looks cool, paintings are
usually better then plants as they usually have a higher room rating, and they
don't need to be upkept, however they tend to cost a lot more.

Two things aren’t included here, one is a gnome and the other is a sculpture,
the reason is visiting sims seem to go out of their way to trip over these and
break them. So you'll just want to sell them when you make them.

If you have a playful sim, you'll want to invest in some of these. Even if you
don't, most of these help out in parties and what not.

Turn on the stereo and feel the effects of fun, as long as the sim can hear it
they'll be in a better mood. This is true, I feel that music is a great
motivation for almost anything. Like right now, I'm listening to some Fast,
loud and great punk music (The Vandals \m/) to keep from falling asleep while
doing this oh-so-boring section of the guide.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Price: $800
Needs Points: 3 Comfort, 6 Hygiene

                                      Sonic Shower
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Price: $3,999
Needs Points: 8 Comfort, 10 Hygiene
Skill Points: N/A
Description: The pinnacle of bathing. It takes about 30 seconds to get fully
clean, and it uses NO WATER. Which means if it breaks it won't spill and messy
sims won't get water everywhere. The downside is kids can't use it. You MUST
keep it clean though, if there is ever flys on it, it'll just fuck up and spin
your sim out of control, which doesn't do anything but lower his comfort. It's
pretty funny to see your sim get flung like that though.

Price: $6,500
Needs Points: 6 Comfort, 2 Hygiene, 2 Room
Skill Points: N/A
Description: The party tub, fits four people, good comfort, and it's a good way
of getting that smelly guy to bath without him knowing. They always seem to
break though, it's an easy repair for a sim with a few mech points though.

                               Libidinex Spa System
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Price: 10,000
Needs Points: 5 Comfort, 2 Hygiene, 3 Fun
Skill Points: N/A
Description: Besides the vibrating bed, this is the only place your sims can
get it on. Which may explain the price, pretty cool looking, though it only
fits two sims, too bad I'd like to see a sim orgy.

Doorways are used to get in and out of the house (duh). It's easier to just
not have walls if you can do that. If you go without walls the rooms look a
lot bigger, though you have less privacy and the rooms all need to match.

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Windows increase the room rating, as sims like light, so don't forget to put in
a window or two in each room. Plus windows are often cheaper than lights, so
it's a good bargain.

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Fireplaces add atmosphere to a room, however they can be dangerous. Be VERY
VERY careful about placing things in front of fireplaces as they can start the
house and your sim on fire. Effectively killing him and destroying any
furniture you have. That's really the only reason I use fireplaces, sim
concentration camps.

will be the opposite effect, EG: it will lower your room rating. You can also

convenient, but it's still a tree that does nothing but costs money.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                   Mulberry Tree
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Price: $250 per square
Description: It's a tree, it has green leaves and stuff. That's a pretty
expensive tree for the fact that it does absolutely nothing to the room value
what-so-ever.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    Birch tree
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Price: $280 per square
Description: Interesting tree with white bark, and ummm... green leaves. It's
the most expensive tree you can get, and it doesn't do didley for anything.
Waste of money if you ask me.

Pools are a great addition to any home as they increase the room value which
dramatically increases your sims happiness as they leave for work. Plus
they're a good source of fun, for groups of sims as well as one person. As if
all that wasn't enough it builds your body, one of the hardest skills to build.
The only problem is that you can't build custom pools, perhaps maxis will add
that in "Bustin' Out!".

(Correct as of august 25th 2003)

Hello, thank you for reading this guide. If you cared enough
to read this far, I might as well entertain you. I'm a 16 year old Virgo and I
am a senior at Millard North High School. In my free time I am either on the
Gamefaqs message boards (Current events, The FAQ contributor Social Board, or
the punk board), or playing my Xbox, Ps2, or my NES. With whatever time is
left, I sell tacos in a little shack by the side of the road for $6 and hour,
which is slowly taking over my life with it’s “OMG WE GIVE j00 more hours than
j00 wantz0rz Benny FWARG!” attitude. Then I use my time machine to travel back
in time, and fit playing hockey into my schedule. This will be my nineth
FAQ/Walkthrough, and I feel that writing walkthroughs has really given me
something better to do than watch some of the crap on television now days.
