OUTLINE OF FAQ
Many people have difficulty finding all of Thanato pieces, especially
later in the game, so I write this FAQs, hoping it will assist some gamers
in any ways. Some of the pieces are way too hidden so it's up to me to find
them all with helps and tips from others.
This FAQs is entirely to help people on the whereabout of all Thanatos
pieces. So please enjoy.
Chaos Legion Gameplay
Well, you control as Sieg, with a sword and a trusty Thanato legion to
aid you. Everytime, you hack a enemy with your sword, you will absorb
blue soul when max gauge, you can summon a legion to aid you. When you want
to use the legion ultimate attack, you will use up a red gauge, but all
can be refilled, provided you hack enough enemies. Sieg has many abilities,
like backflip, sideflip, double-jump, but all are abilities obtained from
legion, which means you need to equip legion to use those abilities, but
once you master the legion, you automatically learn that ability without
equipping it. You need blue dragon power-up item to max the legion bars.
Later in the game, you will obtain more legions to assist you. You can
only equip up to 2 legions only, and you can summon only 1 legion at a time,
but you can dimiss them at any times.
You start with Thanato legion, but you can use him only for a short while
in stage one before it got killed, so hence, the guide purpose is to help
Note that you do not need Thanato to beat the game, and besides, it doesn't
add anything or new ending at all.
Locations of all Thanatos pieces
1st piece: stage 2, the camera will automatically focus on it so you can
get it easily.
2nd piece: stage 3, the camera will automatically focus on it so you
can get it easily.
3rd piece: Stage 4, search every area, it's easy. It's in the area where Sieg begin.
4th piece: Stage 5, there are two ways and a wall between them. The right
one has the piece but the way is broken so you have to go through the
left way to reach the other side. To identify this area, this area is a
narrow road, not a wide area, and tha target enemy is on the left way.
5th piece: Stage 6, on your first area (that red moon), go to the
platform around (pretty high and that'd the only platform so you won't
miss it), kill all the enemies there and you will get it (if not, try
on side B). But I am positive you can get it in side A.
6th piece: Stage 7, prepare yourself with power legion (football
players), after passing the area where you fight some monsters in a
narrow way(the target appears twice), walk some and look for a
climbable platform in the right side (look at the map!), double jump
onto the platform, then summon the power legions there to smash the door
(make them target it by pressing O). You will recognise the door marked
with fist symbol. If you confused, you can see the piece (but you can't
get it) after you defeat the enemy at the bridge (remember? the one you
have to clear the enemies before the bridge go down), if you go left
after it, you will came to the narrow way I talked about but if you not
go left, you can see the piece on the other side (this is a dead end).
Side B only--->From stage 8 onward, the thanato pieces can only found in Side B!
7th piece: Stage 8, remember an area where there's a door(gate) on your left
but cannot be opened? Now, leave it and go through the whole stage until
you find three doors (remember?), defeat the area for each doors(left and right) to
open the middle one. After it opened, a invisible spider monster will appear,
usually ppl ignore it and go to the middle door. Don't head into the middle door
after beating the invisible spider. But if you defeat it, a door will opened which
allows you to head back to previous area where a locked gate is! In Side A, the gate
is locked, so you can't head back to previous area. Remember THIS!Just go back all
the way, and defeat the enemies to make it open. In side A the monster won't appear.
8th piece: Stage 10, Somewhere in the middle of the game, jump onto an
platform where you will reach the small area with circle sign on ground.
Touch the circle to make a bunch of blue big monsters appear, just clear them
9th piece: Stage 11, just finish the stage. In side A you have to fight
Delacroix, in side B you fight a bunch of monsters which keep respawning
till you kill them all, thus obtaining the final piece.
If by any chance, you can't understand my description, here's another one provided by Sylvan Reich.
---->This is for the US version, even though both japanese and US version are really the same.
Chip 1: Stage 2 (Side-A) - Found at the beginning of Scene 2 (Story Item, can't be missed).
Chip 2: Stage 3 (Side-A) - Found in Scene 3 on the far left side of the screen. When you go
to pick it up you will be assaulted by 4 Archanus so have Malice out before you go get the chip.
Chip 3: Stage 4 (Side-A) - Found at the end of Scene 1, this chip is dropped when you defeat the
Jenonholar (monster generator).
Chip 4: Stage 5 (Side-A) - Found in Scene 5. Before moving on to scene 6 go up the eastern
pathway (behind the gate to scene 6) and out onto an octagonal platform. Picking up the
Thanatos Chip will trigger a spawn of Galarges (Bird like creatures).
Chip 5: Stage 6 (Side-A) - Found in Scene 1. From your starting position head along the wall
on the your left. Near the end of the wall you will notice an alcove that you can jump up to.
Doing so will trigger a Gil Grannue (spiky balls)/Egan (fireball shooter) spawn. When you kill
the Egan the Thanatos Chip will appear.
Chip 6: Stage 7 (Side-A) NOTE: !YOU MUST HAVE HATRED EQUIPPED TO GET THIS CHIP!
- Found in Scene 6. After you pass through the Zamu Grannue (walking spiky balls) you will be
assaulted by Guidodagdas (large lizard men creatures) and a Rudo Garia (round guy with a shield)
will block your path. If you face the Rudo Garia blocking the path and turn around, you will notice
another Rudo Garia in an alcove up to your left. Behind the creature is a gate. In order to get
through this gate you must lock on to it (press circle while facing the gate) and summon Hatred.
Now hit triangle (with Hatred summoned) and he will knock down the gate allowing you access
to the Thanatos Chip.
Chip 7: Stage 10 (Side - A) - Found in Scene 5. After you drop to the roadway proceed immediately
to the raised ledges on the right. Go up to the circular platform (via the raised out croppings) and
a host of Rudo Garias (no shields) will appear. Defeat all of these to reveal the 7th. Thanatos Chip.
Chip 8: Stage 8 (Side - B) - At the end of Scene 4 notice the two doors (one on the left and one
on the right) on either side of a center barred door. Go through both doors and complete the
ensuing scenes. After you completely open the door to the boss head back to the beginning of
the stage. On your way you notice a Balor Danu. Kill this to open the gate back towards the
beginning. Go through this and continue to where the Thanatos Chip sits (in the room behind the
gate). Defeat the spawn of Verge Guidodagda and the gate will drop allowing you to pick up the
Chip 9: Stage 11 (Side - B) - Proceed through the stage to the chamber where you fought Delecroix
in Side-A. Instead of Delecroix you will face off with wave after wave of Metal Pones, Metal Lukes,
Pone Leaders, Egan Neis, Zuom Cloarths, and Guliarths. After you defeat these the final Thanatos
Chip will appear.
Rewards for beating the game
For beating the game, you access hard mode, ability to play as Arcia, plus
english subtitle added to movie scene so you can understand what the hell
is going on for all those gamers who don't understand japanese at all.
Even though, you can play as Arcia, note there is no storyline for her at
all, so playing as Arcia is virtually useless, and you don't unlock anything
at all after beating the game as her.
