1. Version Updates

January 7, 2003:   Added a lot of weapon locations thanx to Wayalla.

January 4, 2003:   Fixed a few errors, added a few more weapon locations.
                   THIS GUIDE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. Weapon Locations should be 
                   finished in the next week, then I'll work on some of the 
                   other things to do with weapons. 
                   I'm going to submit it to GameFAQs, but I think its too 
                   in-complete to be added, but we'll see.

December 19, 2002: Added quite a few weapon locations.

December 17, 2002: Added Weapon Stats, took hours to get em!

December 15, 2002: Started Main Guide, its seriously CRAP!

2. Introduction

I have decided to write this Guide so that people can have fun finding out 
about the weapons in GTA: Vice City. In it you will find... well.... everything 
above in the Contents section, but there is a lot of useful info in here which 
took me a number of hours to produce.

Enjoy it, and I hope it helps.

If you have any complaints or any extra info that I could use, email them to 
me. Remember the guide is under construction, and I will find the stuff on my 
own, but help is appreciated.

answer all questions, because, even though I'm still playing through it (for 
the 3rd time) I think I know quite a lot about it. You could also email me 
about any problems you are having with the guide, any errors, or anything else 
that you see is wrong. If you have any better directions, or techniques for 
getting weapons, feel free to send me them and I might put them in. Oh, and 
compliments are permitted, as are constructive criticism, don't bother sending

All of the stats below came straight from the game data, do not email me 
telling us that there is a mistake with them, and the name is wrong, that's 
what the data says, that's what it stays!

It took me 5 hours to make this into some useful info, by copying and pasting 
loads of different stuff together, until I eventually got this. So you better

7. Getting Weapons From Hideout

You can get these weapons by getting packages, here is the required packages 
for the certain weapons to appear at the Vercetti Estate, The Hyman Condo and 
the Ocean View Hotel.

8. Finding Weapons
=====================================================================

A. East Island
*********************************************************************

Colt 45 - 
From Ammu-Nation, heading South, follow the road to the end then turn right. 
Follow it along, and then make a left just before you get to the white building 
on the left. Follow this path along and stop when you reach some steps that 
lead up to "Vice City Marina". Go up the steps and right and you will find your 
weapon.

Machete - 
From the Ocean View Hotel, follow the road south. Make the first right you can, 
and soon after that, go into the alley on your left. Follow it all the way to 
the end, and you will find the Machete under a small roof type thing.

Baseball Bat - 
From the Ocean View Hotel, follow the road south. Make the first right you can, 
and soon after that, go into the alley on your right. Follow it along, and a 
short way, you will come across it on your right.

Brass Knuckles - 
From the Ocean View Hotel, follow the road south. Make the first right you can, 
and soon after that, go into the alley on your right. Follow it along, and just 
after the Baseball Bat, you will come across it on your right.

Chainsaw - 
From Ammu-Nation Go North, make the first right, and on the left will be some 
apartments, go up the steps and you can enter the apartment on the right, go 
in and then turn right and go into the bathroom where you will find the 
chainsaw.

Uzi - 
Find the Pay & Spray which is North of Ammu-Nation, then walk around the back, 
and follow it around to get the Uzi.

Shotgun - 
From the Pay & Spray, head North, and take the second right. Follow it to the 
end, then go left. On your left you will see a spiral parking lot. Go up it, 
and when you get to the top, go left. once you get down the ramp turn right and 
you should see the shotgun.

Uzi - 
From the Pay & Spray, head North, and take the second right. Follow it to the 
end, then go left. Follow this road along and take the first right. A little 
way on the left you will see a pink building with some steps, so go up here, 
and head around to the left where you will see your prize.

Tear Gas - 
From the hardware store, go across the small bridge and get to the police 
station, go around the back and up the ramp, and you will find the Tear Gas to 
the left side.

Shotgun - 
From Ocean View Hotel head North, all the way to the end. When you get there, 
go towards the beach, but stop before you get to the wall, then head South 
again, a short way down you will see a shotgun behind a bench.

Machete - 
From the hardware store, turn left, or just drive to the West, you will come to 
the bridge to Starfish Island, and the Machete is at the left walkway of the 
bridge, hard to miss!

Colt 45 - 
From the hardware store, go North, and turn into the construction site, go up 
the first small ramp, then drive to the back of the site's lower level, where 
you will see the pistol.

Tec-9 - 
From the hardware store head North all the way along, then go towards the 
bridge that takes you near the pizza place. Just before you go over the bridge 
you will notice a gap between the houses and the wall on the left. Go along 
here and look in the 3rd gap between the houses for a Tec-9.

9. Weapon Descriptions
=====================================================================

Fists/Feet: Well, they are your fists and feet! what do you expect! you can use 
them for punching, kicking and head butting. they aren't very useful against
armed opponents though.

Brass Knuckles: A big improvement over normal fists, they make a funny sound 
when you punch someone. punch a man and he will be down on the floor.

Screwdriver: Probably the least powerful Melee weapon there is. Quite fun. For 
about 5 seconds.

Golf Club: In Vice City, the golf club is NOT for playing golf, can be found to 
the right as you enter the actual golf club in Vice City. Another way to get it 
is by entering a Golf Cart when your Melee slot is empty.

Hammer: Its fun to destroy cars with this weapon, or hit people, or anything 
for that matter.

Nightstick: This is the weapon the police use. To get one, either kill a cop, 
or enter the police station in Washington beach, and go in the room on the 
left. But you will get 2 star wanted level.

Baseball Bat: Used for Cracking heads instead of Baseballs. Can be found behind 
the Ocean View hotel (Your first hideout).

Meat Cleaver: Knife used by chefs, and you!

Katana: One of my favourite Melee weapons, you can chop peoples heads off, and 
stab them in their stomach with this! can be found in the Tarbrush Cafe in the 
North Point Mall.

Chainsaw: My other favourite Melee weapon! Just keep Circle Pressed down while 
running at people and they'll be dead! This is the only weapon that makes blood 
splatter on the screen. If you are standing over a dead person, press circle 
again to stick the chainsaw into their corpse and send blood everywhere!

Grenades: Hold down Circle button to throw them, the longer you hold the button 
down, the further they get thrown, after you've thrown them, they'll explode 
after a few seconds.

Molotov Coctails: Same Throwing technique as the Grenades, but this time when 
it hits the ground, it will explode into a ball of flames and burn anyone who's 
near enough.

Tear Gas: only 1 location for this, its by the Police Station in Washington 
Beach. you only get 4 so use them wisely, use the Grenade/Molotov technique to 
throw them, and instead of flames or explosion, a load of tear gas will come 
pouring out!
It will kill people if they stand in it for too long, even you. It does nothing 
to cars, and the game frame rate will slow down for some reason while you use 
them.

Remote Grenades: Just like normal grenades, except that you decide when they 
explode! Once you have thrown one, you will have a detonator in your inventory, 
you will need to detonate the grenade before you can throw another.

~NOTE~
There is a glitch when you get 100% in the game, Since you get infinite ammo, 
when you throw a remote grenade, the game will think you have infinite of the 
detonators, so you wont be able to get rid of them! the only way to be able to 
use any other weapons again is to die or get busted, or you could buy a weapon 
from any shop, then, you will still have the remote in your inventory, but as 
long as you don't select it, you will be able to use any other weapons.

Colt .45: Simple weapon, not powerful at all. just aim and shoot.

Colt Python: The ultimate pistol, One hit kill.  Slow reload rate though. 

Chrome Shotgun: Simple Shotgun, it's like the one in GTA3, you get 5 rounds 
when you enter a police car, but there are better shotguns around...

Spaz Shotgun: The best Shotgun in the game, One hit kill, it has can fire 8 
shots, then it needs to reload, takes less than 2 seconds to blow up a car.

Stubby Shotgun: Its a lot like the Chrome Shotgun, except it kills in one hit 
like the spaz. It needs to reload after each shot 

Tech-9: My least favourite Sub Machine Gun, you can run while firing, but it 
takes a lot of time to kill a person.

Ingram Mac 10: My favourite Sub Machine Gun, you can run while firing and it 
doesn't take much to kill a man

Uzi 9mm: Its an OK Sub Machine Gun, you CAN'T run while firing, but it has a 
decent firing rate.

MP5: The most powerful Sub Machine Gun, you CAN'T run while firing, but its 
power makes up for that big time!

Ruger: The first Assault Rifle you'll get, not the best though. it fires quite 
slow. And kills a man in one shot.

M4: Very nice gun. Fires quite fast. An all round decent gun.

Rocket Launcher: The king of destruction! Aim. Fire. That's all you need to 
know.

M60: Kills in one shot but hasn't got a very good fire rate

Flamethrower: Flame people! Its great fun, just aim and fire, Flames will come 
out and burn anyone in their way

Minigun: Also known as the Gatling Gun, takes 1 second to start firing, then 
fires at an amazing rate, can destroy a vehicle in less than a second, and kill 
a man immediately.

Sniper Rifle: Its just like the Sniper Rifle in GTA3, reloads slow too.

PSG-1: Most accurate Sniper Rifle. Reloads quite fast.
